Prince Delays European Tour in Wake of Paris Attacks

The tour, which was scheduled to open on November 24 in Vienna and include two shows in Paris, has been postponed 'until further notice.'

AceShowbiz - Another musician is canceling his scheduled shows in Europe in the wake of Paris attacks. After U2 and Foo Fighters, Prince revealed on Monday, November 16 that his "Prince Spotlight: Piano & a Microphone" tour wouldn't happen as planned.

Prince tweeted a link to promoter Wiener Konzerthaus' website, on which the announcement was posted. "Due to the tragic events in Paris, the tour promoter has decided to postpone the upcoming European tour until further notice," it read.

Prince's European tour was announced last week. It was supposed to kick off on November 24 in Vienna, Austria and include two shows at Paris' Palais Garnier opera house in December

The terrorist attacks, which happened in the French capital on Friday, November 13, included mass shootings at rock band Eagles of Death Metal's concert at Le Bataclan. Following the tragedy, U2 pulled out their Paris gig which was initially set to air on HBO. Foo Fighters decided to cancel the remaining dates on their European trek. Coldplay, Simple Plan and Motorhead were among other acts who also scrapped their shows.
