The opening bow for "Basterds" marked director Quentin Tarantino's personal best. His previous best opener was "Kill Bill Vol. 2", which reeled in $25 million in April 2004. With the solid opening, the movie starring Channing Tatum, Sienna Miller and Dennis Quaid is placed among the best August openings in history for a non-sequel. Its impressive bow also marked Tatum and Miller's career bests. Of the success of the film, Paramount vice chairman Rob Moore said, "... the audience got exactly what it was. A fun summer movie, a great way to end your summer. You just relax and have a good time."

This is the third time Erika reigns the chart as she also sat at number 1 with her two previous singles, "Rollercoaster" (2007) and "Star" (2008).
"Give You Everything" has been released for digital download since April alongside its remixes which come from music's hottest talents including DJ Escape & Johnny Vicious, Moto Blanco, Mike Rizzo and Dave Aude. 'Funny People' Laughs to #1 Box Office
August 03, 2009 09:08:52"Funny People" has taken over the #1 spot at North American box office from "G-Force". Despite the fact that the movie nabbed the top slot, its performance was far from impressive. The $20 million plus bow is far lower than the debut of Apatow's "Knocked Up" which collected $30.7 million in 2007. While its earning was better than "The 40 Year-Old Virgin", "Funny People" was still behind "Virgin" in terms of attendance.
