Little Big Town, Sam Hunt and Florida Georgia Line will join them in a ceremony to honor the country artists who dominated in all platforms this year.

AceShowbiz - Blake Shelton is one of the names mentioned on CMT's Wednesday, November 11 announcement of this year's "Artist of the Year". The "The Voice" coach will be honored later this year along with Luke Bryan, Little Big Town, Sam Hunt and Florida Georgia Line.

This would be the first time for Shelton, Hunt and Little Big Town to receive the CMT honor. Bryan and Florida Georgia Line had celebrated the achievement in the past year. Previous honorees include Shelton's ex-wife Miranda Lambert, Keith Urban, Carrie Underwood, Lady Antebellum and Taylor Swift.

The annual CMT's "Artists of the Year" honors artists who have dominated country radio and CMT's platforms, as well as ruled the charts and sold out arenas. The 90-minute special will air live on December 2 at 8 P.M. from Nashville's Schermerhorn Symphony Center. The event will feature musical performances, tributes and toasts to the biggest stars in music, television and film.

CMT will announce performers for the sixth special at a later date.
