A shortlist of directors for the upcoming 'Spider-Man' reboot includes several famous names such as Jonathan Levine and Jason Moore.

AceShowbiz - While fans are waiting for the final casting decision for an untitled new Spider-Man movie, Deadline has revealed a shortlist of directors who become candidates to work on the highly-anticipated Spider-Man reboot. In a previous report, Drew Goddard was said being chosen as the director for the upcoming Spider-Man movie.

Latest report, however, says that Sony and Marvel will choose a director from the list which includes Jonathan Levine ("50/50"), Ted Melfi ("St. Vincent"), Jason Moore ("Pitch Perfect"), Jared Hess ("Napoleon Dynamite") and the directing duo of John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein, who are currently working on the reboot of John Hughes' movie, "Vacation".

Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal will produce the reboot which will center on Peter Parker in his high school years. He has already been bitten by the radioactive spider so his origin story won't be addressed again. Asa Butterfield ("Hugo", "Ender's Game") is reportedly the studio's top choice to play Peter Parker. Other contenders rumored to take the lead role include Nat Wolff, Tom Holland, Timothee Chalamet, and Liam James.
