NBC to Bring Back 'Law and Order' With Limited Series

A new 10 episode series is being developed with the original cast Chris Noth and Sam Waterston pursued to reprise their roles.

AceShowbiz - "Law & Order" is reportedly getting a revival treatment. Rumor has it, NBC is developing 10 new episodes to bring back the crime-solving procedural saga for a limited series. According to Deadline, the original members Chris Noth and Sam Waterston are approached for the project.

"Law & Order" was canceled in 2010 after airing for 20 seasons, tying "Gunsmoke" as the longest-running primetime drama series in the U.S. Meanwhile, the spinoff "Law and Order: SVU" has just been renewed for season 17, cementing it as the longest-running drama on TV right now.

Aside from discussing the "Law & Order" limited series, NBC is additionally bringing back "Heroes" with miniseries called "Heroes Reborn". Fox is also working on a new version of classic series "The X-Files".
