Kicked off her early career as one of the finalists on the third season of the FOX television series "American Idol," Jennifer Hudson is famous already, thanks to her Oscar winning role in the 2006 "Dreamgirls". And now she's willing to try another acting role by signing to join the cast of the forthcoming movie version of hit television show "Sex and the City."
Hudson is said to be in final negotiations to star in the comedy romance flick, joining its original cast Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis, Cynthia Nixon, and Chris Noth. She's set to portray the assistant to Sarah Jessica Parker's Carrie Bradshaw.

Adding his resume, "Sex and the City" star Chris Noth has successfully joined the cast of "Frame of Mind" following the trail of actor/filmmaker Carl T. Evans. As the film revolves around a New Jersey police detective (Evans) who unveils a government conspiracy, Noth is billed to play a college professor skeptical of the detective's discovery.
While further details about the picture have not yet been revealed, production of the film is scheduled to start filming by October in the Garden State with Evans also to direct.
