The Death Row Records founder is taken into police custody with his bail set at $2 million after he turned himself in to authorities.

AceShowbiz - Suge Knight was charged for murder after running over two individuals with a pickup truck and fleeing the scene. The Death Row Records founder is being held at the West Hollywood sheriff's station with his bail set at $2 million after he turned himself in to authorities early Friday, January 30.

The fatal hit-and-run occurred on Thursday in the parking lot of a restaurant in Compton. One man was killed and another was injured. Police investigated the incident as homicide. "The people we talked to say it looked like it was an intentional act," said Los Angeles County sheriff's Lt. John Corina.

Knight reportedly got into an argument with the men before hitting them with his car. "The argument escalated and the driver backed up striking one of the victims. The driver then drove forward driving over both victims," the sheriff said. "Various witnesses described the driver as being Marion Suge Knight."

His lawyer James Blatt said, "We are confident that once the investigation is completed, he will be totally exonerated." He explained, "He was in the process of being physically assaulted by two men and in an effort to escape he unfortunately hit two (other) individuals. He was in his car trying to escape."

Before the deadly crash, Suge Knight was allegedly involved in an altercation on the set of N.W.A biopic "Straight Outta Compton". The sheriff alleged the rap mogul followed the men he argued with when they went to a nearby restaurant after the confrontation and run them over twice.
