Brad Pitt, Christian Bale and Ryan Gosling to Team Up for 'The Big Short'

The three actors are set to star in an adaptation of Michael Lewis' best-selling book about the financial crisis of 2007-2010.

AceShowbiz - Brad Pitt, Christian Bale and Ryan Gosling will star in "The Big Short", a big-screen adaptation of a non-fiction book by Michael Lewis, who also wrote the books which have been turned into movies "Moneyball" and "The Blind Side". Variety first reported the news.

"The Big Short: Inside the Doomsday Machine" is about the the build-up of the housing and credit bubble of the 2000s that led to the financial crisis of 2007-2010. The story follows key figures who played a role in the financial bubble.

Pitt will produce the movie with DeDe Gardner through their Plan B banner. Adam McKay has been on board the project to write the script and direct the film. The movie will reportedly feature "several A-list actors who have similiar-sized roles, similar to the cast of 'Traffic' or 'The Counselor'."

Pitt was last seen in "Fury" and is currently filming "By the Sea", which is directed by his wife Angelina Jolie and will reunite the couple on screen. Bale stars in "Exodus: Gods and Kings" which was released last December and has signed up to join the voice cast of Andy Serkis-directed live-action movie "Jungle Book: Origins". Gosling, who was last seen in "Only God Forgives" (2013), has recently wrapped the production of "The Nice Guys".
