A judge has awarded the 'Modern Family' star 3-year restraining order against her ex Matt Prokop who allegedly choked and threatened her.

AceShowbiz - Sarah Hyland has been awarded a 3-year restraining order against her ex-boyfriend Matt Prokop. Prokop, who allegedly choked and threatened the "Modern Family" star, is now ordered to stay at least 100 yards away from Hyland and her home, TMZ reports.
Prokop is also not allowed to go near her workplace and posses gun or ammunition. The protection also includes Hyland's dog Barkley Bixby. Prokop is ordered to stay 100 yards away from the pet and not allowed to attack, threaten or harm it in any way.
In her September 19 filing, the 23-year-old star said that Prokop called her "c**t" and choked her during an altercation in May. "Mr. Prokop grabbed me by the shoulders and slammed my back into the side of my car. He placed both of his hands around my throat and began to choke me. His grip was so tight that I could not breathe or speak," she said.
After Hyland said she wanted to call it quits, Prokop "relentlessly bombarded me with vile, threatening and emotionally disturbing texts and voice mails including his own suicide threats." He also said she would not see her dog again.
