The 21-year-old budding actress, Sosie Bacon, follows in the footsteps of Dakota Johnson, Melanie Griffth and Laura Dern.
Meet the new Miss Golden Globe, Sosie Bacon. She is the daughter of Hollywood royalty, actor Kevin Bacon and actress Kyra Sedgwick. The 21-year-old will assist in handing out trophies at the upcoming 71st Golden Globe Awards on January 12, 2014.
Michael J. Fox and Tracy Pollan's son, Sam, was picked for Mr. Golden Globe this year. The 24-year-old was memorably mentioned by hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler when they jokingly warned Taylor Swift to stay away from the young man.
The tradition to choose the son or daughter of celebrity for the honor was born 50 years ago. Many former Miss and Mr. Golden Globes, including Freddie Prinze Jr., Linda Evans, Melanie Griffith, Laura Dern and Dakota Johnson, have gone on to successful acting careers.
"This year's honoree is also a talented actress in her own right whom I am sure we will hear and see a lot of in the future," says HFPA president Theo Kingma.
Sosie made her acting debut when she was 10 years old in "Loverboy" directed by her own father. She has also appeared in four episodes of her mother's TV show "The Closer" and last year joined the cast of the off-Broadway rock musical "Fiction in Photographs".
