John Clark Gable, the son of "Gone With the Wind" actor Clark Gable, has been hit with misdemeanor charges of DUI and hit-and-run following accident in Malibu in April. If convicted, the son of the Rhett Butler depicter can face jail time. However, TMZ reports that it is unlikely.

Law enforcement officers say that John was not drunk during the incident. They attribute the incident to prescription medication. John is scheduled to appear in front of judge on September 30.

Back in April, John was arrested after he allegedly crashed his white Ford pickup into six parked cars on Pacific Coast Highway. John insisted that he "absolutely was not drinking," but admitted that he lost consciousness for a brief moment.

John claimed that the last thing he remembered was being cut off by a van and when he woke up he already hit a phone pole. He said that at that time he was taking a prescription medication to treat a minor leg injury which he suffered following mountain biking. John believed that a brain aneurysm contributed to the incident. He suffered from brain aneurysm in 2006 and 2009, both of which were treated with surgeries.

John's father Clark Gable is mostly known for his role as Rhett Butler in 1939 movie "Gone With the Wind". John was born four months after his father's passing in 1960.
