Tony Lucca, Katrina Parker, Jamar Rogers and Juliet Simms round up the top 8 contestants on the show's second season, while Mathai and Cheesa are sent packing.
Adam Levine and Cee-Lo Green have got their top 2 singers each. On Tuesday, April 24, the Maroon 5 frontman had to choose between Katrina Parker and Mathai after Tony Lucca was saved by America's votes.
Singing for the life, Katrina delivered a full-voiced performance of Pink's "Perfect" while Mathai went country with Carrie Underwood's "Cowboy Casanova". Blake Shelton and Christina Aguilera said they would save Katrina, and Adam agreed with them.
"I've got to save Katrina," the rocker said, sending Mathai packing. The 18-year-old aspiring singer then delivered her last words on the show, "Adam, you're awesome. Thank you to this show for showing me how much I want to sing for the rest of my life."
In team Cee-Lo, it was down to Cheesa and Juliet Simms as Jamar Rogers was saved by the audience. Cheesa later delivered a rendition of Kelly Clarkson's "Already Gone", which Adam and Christina called pitchy. Juliet sang Natalie Imbruglia's "Torn", and the "Burlesque" star liked it.
In the end, Cee-Lo decided to eliminate Cheesa and save Juliet for the semifinal rounds. "I cannot argue with America and the support they're giving Juliet," the Gnarls Barkley member explained. "I have to go with Juliet."
Tony, Katrina, Jamar and Juliet join Erin Willett and Jermaine Paul from team Blake, as well as Lindsey Pavao and Chris Mann from team Christina to continue their journey on the singing competition. The semifinals will begin Monday, April 30 at 8 P.M. ET on NBC.
