The former Miss World's husband Abhishek Bachchan broke the news on Wednesday, November 16 morning before his father Amitabh tweeted his joy of becoming a grandfather.
After months of anticipation, Bollywood star Aishwarya Rai has finally given birth to her first child in the Indian city of Mumbai. Breaking the news was her husband Abhishek Bachchan. At around 10 A.M. local time on Wednesday, November 16, the actor/producer tweeted, "IT'S A GIRL!!!!!! :-)))))"
Shortly afterward, Abhishek's famous father Amitabh Bachchan took to his own Twitter account to share his joy of becoming a grandfather. "I AM DADA to the cutest baby girl !!" so his tweet read. He followed it up with another tweet, "A dada ji [a grandfather]... Ecstatic !!!!" before thanking those who sent out congratulatory messages.
Aishwarya, who won the title of Miss World in 1994, was admitted to the Seven Hills Hospital late Monday, November 14 night. Amitabh has since been active on Twitter to offer updates. Hours before the baby's arrival, he wrote, "And as I write, there is still no news from Aishwarya ... your wishes and prayers with us ... Thank you."
Ever since Abhishek announced the birth of his daughter, congratulatory messages have poured in from other Bollywood celebrities. Actresses Bipasha Basu and Celina Jaitley as well as producer Karan Johar were some of those taking to Twitter and sharing their reaction to the happy news.
Bipasha wrote, "OMG! So excited Baby B is Daddy to a lil Angel! Congrats Ash n @juniorbachchan n to d entire family!Welcome sweet baby girl:)", Celina simply posted, "Congratulations :)", and Karan tweeted, "Congratulations!! Baby B had a baby girl!! @juniorbachchan!!! All the love and happiness...am sure she will be the prettiest girl ever!!!"
