The 'Angels Cry' singer says, 'The song sounds great. I'm very excited for everybody to hear it this Christmas and to be totally festive with our festive collabo.'
Mariah Carey is going to be on Justin Bieber's upcoming Christmas album "Under the Mistletoe". In a video blog, the Grammy-winning diva confirmed she will do a collaboration with the teen popstar in a revamped version of her holiday song "All I Want for Christmas Is You".
"I am here today to tell you a little secret," the wife of "America's Got Talent" host Nick Cannon said from a rooftop of a building. "Justin and I are doing this duet together. It is my song 'All I Want for Christmas Is You', which I wrote and produced."
"I'm very excited about it. really excited. I think a lot of you are already very surprised by this and you're going to be even more surprised when you hear it. The song sounds great. I'm very excited for everybody to hear it this Christmas and to be totally festive with our festive collabo."
A few hours prior, Justin tweeted, "I mean the fact that I might be singing with one of the greatest voices ever one of the greatest songs of christmas ever......" When a lot of his Beliebers urged him to spill the beans, he followed it up with, "Well like I said...#UnderTheMistletoe is not your normal christmas album. right @mariahcarey."
Justin's take on "All I Want for Christmas Is You" will pit him against fellow Canadian singer Michael Buble since the "Haven't Met You Yet" hitmaker has also done his own spin on the 1994 song. Michael, however, will not make a duet with Mariah in the re-recorded version.
Mariah joins Boyz II Men, Usher and Busta Rhymes as Justin's featured guests in his forthcoming holiday album. More guests are expected to be revealed in the coming weeks. $1 from every copy of the album sold will be donated to charity.
