Jessica Alba to Be Spy Mother in Robert Rodriguez's 'Spy Kids 4'
Movie

The 'Sin City' star is in talks to portray a mother of two stepchildren who will be the new Spy Kids in 'All the Time in the World'.

AceShowbiz - Jessica Alba is set to work together with Robert Rodriguez again. The actress, who has starred in Rodriguez-directed "Sin City", is in negotiation to join the cast line up for "Spy Kids 4: All the Time in the World", The Hollywood Reporter (THR) states.

Alba will be seen as a retired spy who has been reactivated. Her character is a mother of a baby and two preteen stepchildren. These preteens will be the new Spy Kids but the actors who will tackle the roles have not been cast. Other characters that will appear in the new "Spy Kids" movie include Alba's husband, a slightly nerdy investigative reporter, and the villain, known as the Time Keeper, whose goal is to stop time.

"Spy Kids 4: All the Time in the World", also known as "Spy Kids 4: Armageddon", is a reboot of sorts for the film franchise. The original lead stars, Alexa Vega and Daryl Sabara, are no longer kids anymore but Rodriguez wants to continue the series. Thus, he makes the fourth film with new main characters.

Vega and Sabara portrayed the Spy Kids in the previous three films with Antonio Banderas and Carla Gugino playing their superspy parents. THR further reports that Vega, Sabara and Banderas are expected to return to the upcoming installment for supporting roles.

"Spy Kids 4: All the Time in the World" is planned to begin shooting in September in Texas and made in 3-D. Rodriguez is on board to direct, write and produce the action adventure flick.

Jessica Alba recently appeared in limited release "The Killer Inside Me". She next will be seen playing in "Little Fockers" and "Machete", the latter which is written and directed by Robert Rodriguez too.
