Alexa Vega Engaged to Boyfriend Sean Covel
November 21, 2009 02:11:55Alexa Vega is engaged to be married. Breaking the news of her engagement to film producer boyfriend Sean Covel is HotSpringsStar.com, to which the pair shares details when he proposed to her. The site, moreover, reports a wedding is planned for next year.
Covel says via phone interview from his office in Hollywood that he planned to propose to Vega after he picked up a custom-designed engagement ring from his jeweler friend in Beverly Hills. "I planned to propose in a grove of Christmas trees in Los Angeles," he reveals further. "But when I realized we would be back home doing a screening in Hot Springs, I knew this was the perfect opportunity, so I scrapped the old plan and whipped up a new one."

Entitled "Chase the Morning", the three-minute plus clip reveals the scene where Alexa Vega's Shilo Wallace meets Sarah Brightman's Blind Mag for the first time. In this musical number, Mag introduces herself as Shilo's godmother and shows her extraordinary ability.
In the year of 2056 where the planet has been devastated by the organ failure epidemic, one biotech company, GeneCo, comes out as a savior as it sells organ transplant. However, there is a catch behind it, if the person receiving the transplant fails to pay on schedule, he or she has to face the 'Repo' man. Amidst all of that, a girl with a rare blood disease is looking for a cure. Instead of finding what she has been looking for, she is being sucked to the world of GeneCo.

Nominations for this year American Latino Media Arts (ALMA) Awards had been announced Monday April 16th during a press conference at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California with Eva Longoria served as host alongside best friend Mario Lopez and NCLR President and CEO Janet Murguia.
On the television category, HBO's "Walkout", plus ABC's "George Lopez" and "Ugly Betty" are the nominees vying for the Outstanding TV Series, Mini-Series, or TV Movie award. The series' male stars, including the likes of George Lopez and Michael Pena, are nominated for the Outstanding Actor- TV Series, Mini-Series, or TV Movie award.

Consistent in celebrating the achievements of African-Americans in feature, independent, and television films since 2000, the Foundation For The Advancement Of African-Americans In Film's has delightfully picked up titles and names as the honorees of its Black Reel Awards yesterday, February 7, 2007.
Top scorer was musical drama "Dreamgirls" as it successfully swept six prizes altogether, notably the Best Film title with its star, Jennifer Hudson, taking home two of them for winning the Best Supporting Actress and Best Breakthrough Performance categories. Other three were awards for Best Original Score, Best Original Soundtrack, and Best Song for "And I'm Telling You."

Being consistent in recognizing positive portrayals of Latinos in entertainment industry, Imagen Awards once more comes to the surface this year with notable names included in the nomination list announced Thursday, June 29. In category of Best Leading Actor, there lined up the likes of Antonio Banderas, Andy Garcia, and John Leguizamo while that of Best Leading Actress put together Jessica Alba, Cameron Diaz, Ines Sastre, also America Ferrera, who received praise from her performance in acclaimed teen flick "The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants."
Other stars who nabbed nomination at the event included Alexa Vega, Vanessa Anne Hudgens, Michael Pena, Jimmy Smits, and Danny Pino, the latter three being nominated in the same category of Best Lead TV Actor. Meanwhile, "The Lost City", "Take the Lead", and "The Adventures of Shark Boy and Lava Girl in 3-D" have been mentioned as the three finalists for the Best Picture category.
