"Sin City" May Go to the Small Screen
April 07, 2007 11:04:01In the wait for "Sin City 2" to grace the big screen, a surprising yet delightful tidbit has come out from Robert Rodriguez's mouth about the franchise.
The Mexican-American filmmaker told PBS' "The Charlie Rose Show" that "Sin City" would probably continue in some form on television while revealing that the sequel to the flick may get filmed in June this year. It is presumed that the man possibly begins working on the planned series after the release of "Sin City 2" in theaters.

In an interview about two future adaptations of the Frank Miller popular graphic novel held by MTV, the famed filmmaker has hinted that "Sin City 3" will likely be made based on "Hell and Back" storyline while revealing to have Depp in mind to assume the lead role of Wallace in the project.

June 05, 2006 12:06:00The 2006 MTV Movie Awards show, held on Saturday June 3rd on a soundstage at Sony Studios, celebrated the big winning of last summer's "Wedding Crashers" which at that time collected three trophies all at once, including the coveted Golden Popcorn for Best Movie.
In addition to that, the flick also brought winning to Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson who both shared the Best On-Screen Team honor, and that for Isla Fisher who won the Breakthrough Performance award. Just behind "Wedding Crashers" there came "Brokeback Mountain" which brought Jake Gyllenhaal to double winning mainly for Best Performance category and Best Kiss which he shared with Heath Ledger.

Bringing home three awards each, as for "Batman Begins" the flick nabs honor for the categories of Best Fantasy Film, Best Actor for Christian Bale, and Best Writing. Meanwhile, "King Kong" wins the categories of Best Actress for Naomi Watts, Best Director for Peter Jackson, and Best Special Effects.

Batman Begins Named the Favourite Movie of 2005

Apparently, nearly 15,000 film fans voted the action flick, tentatively titled "Batman Begins," as the Favorite Movie of 2005. Securing the top spot of the poll held by Total Film magazine, 'Batman' beats the like of "Sin City" and "Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith." The magazine's deputy editor claims 'Batman' as "a smart but funny reinvention" and "excellently directed."
Other award went to actor Mickey Rourke who was voted Man of the Year for his portrayal in cult movie "Sin City." In the meantime, Ian McDiarmid, who played Supreme Chancellor Palpatine in 'Revenge of the Sith,' has been named Best Movie Villain. "War of the Worlds" star Dakota Fanning was named Best Child Actor.

Speaking about the project, Miller said that it was too early to announce casting but did confirm the project will be shot entirely on green screen, like the first film.

April 04, 2005 09:04:32Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller's "Sin City," which cast includes Bruce Willis, Mickey Rourke, Benicio Del Toro, Jessica Alba, Rosario Dawson, Clive Owen, Elijah Wood, Alexis Bledel and Brittany Murphy, has topped the weekend box office as the nation's new top movie with a $28.1 million debut. In the second place was Queen Latifah's comedy "Beauty Shop," which according to industry estimates Sunday took in $13.5 million for the weekend. In the third place was last week's top-grossing movie "Guess Who," which reached $13 million, lifting its 10-day total to $41.3 million.
Remaining in the fourth place in its fourth week was "Robots," which earned $10 million from a $3,305 per screen average at 3,026 sites - 405 less than last weekend. Came after that was "Miss Congeniality 2: Armed & Fabulous" that performed the FBI agent Sandra Bullock. Be at number six was "The Pacifier" that reached $6.1 million, and at number seven was "The Ring 2" that grossed $5.8 million. New comer to the top ten list was "The Upside of Anger," starring Joan Allen and Kevin Costner, gained 230 percent to earn $4.1 million in eighth place. The last two in the list was "Hitch" at number nine and "Ice Princess" at number ten.
