Originally slated for August 25 U.S. release, Mariah Carey's new studio album "Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel" has been pushed back three weeks from its schedule. It is now plotted to make its way out for U.S. purchase on September 15, according to Amazon.
The lead single from the upcoming album is titled "Obsessed". It has come out along with its remix version, which features rapper Gucci Mane, since mid June. A music video for the original version has also been debuted since July 14, but the video for its remix will not be dropped until Thursday, July 23.
"Quick update-been in the studio finishing this album-hopefully coming overseas soon," so Mariah recently tweeted. "Remix video of 'Obsessed' feating gucci mane on thurs!x."
On her calendar meanwhile, Mariah Carey is set to make a live performance in NBC's reality TV show "America's Got Talent", which is hosted by her husband Nick Cannon, on August 5. She is also scheduled to sing in the "TODAY" show on August 28.

so did i miss something?? when is Mariah gonna outsell Whitney?? she has yet to sell 300k in 4 weeks that her CD has been out, Whitney Sold more than that first week!!!! Y'all just need to get a grip!! Mariah ain't outselling anybody.
"Obsessed" was No. 7 on Billboard, that's a big hit. Flop is like when a single misses the Top 40 or fails to chart altogether. Even though I can't stand Mariah Carey, a single that makes No. 7 clearly is not a flop. Her album is another matter. Nearly any somewhat anticipated CD will come in at No. 1 unless it is a competitive week. Her opening number was pathetic, even Streisand, 4 drinks past her prime, beat Mariah.
Whitney's new song was so painfully boring! I was driving when I heard it on the radio and nearly fell asleep! Mariah is much better than Whitney...200%! Go Mariah...

6 flops? Where do you get the number 6 from? Touch my body went to #1 and there were only two other releases off that album. And do you REALLY wanna talk about flops ? Cause I can name a TON of whitney flops. Basically every album and single she released since 1998. Heck, she didn't even have a #1 song on that album! She has just never been album to keep up with the times as well as MARIAH. Love MC! Can't wait for her new album!
Whitney is coming out in September and so Mariah will now be competing with her for the Grammys!
I understand that. 6 flop singles in a row including "Obsessed". She probably pushed back the album to avoid competing with Whitney.
