A music video in support of David Archuleta's new single called "Crush" has just been dropped. The single, which carries the feeling of being mesmerized with love spell in which many of his fans can relate to, is scheduled to be listed in his forthcoming debut album. Unfortunately, neither its title nor release date have been announced yet.
According to the 2008 "American idol" runner up, the video is shot in Georgia and directed by Declan Whitebloom. It shows David playing piano down by a river and is then cut by a capture of him and some of his friends, including a girl that he falls in love with, going on a picnic. Playing some fool games, the pair are seen playing coy with their romantic feeling.

I am being realistic. Even Paul Anka wants archuleta to play him in Broadway for his auto-biography. My favorite song from anka is "Put Your Head On My Shoulder" and "TIMES OF YOUR LIFE" Archuleta will last more as a "Paul Anka" type. Archie's r&b stuff is not him. It is a waste of his talent imo.

I love the overall concept of the video. And kudos to Declan for keeping David's character and virtue intact There were a few things I thought could be remedied and I mentioned to both the artist and the director. Otherwise it wastrue to the song and the cast. To Nano and Yolanda, David is Hispanic, so sue him. He is 17 and he did look right at home with those kids for his character and the song. Our friends come in all colors, shapes, hair colors, and ages. David portrays a teen boy nervously anxious around the girl he has just discover he may be in love with; at the very least, has a "CRUSH" on. For me, he does a gosh darned good job portraying that. "CRUSH" is very relatable to all ages, but perhaps not all people. Nano and Yolanda have obviously never had a "CRUSH" or a youth to relieve, so they can't relate. You know what, the piano on the pier wasn't even out of the ordinary for David. David is always trying new things for his fans and we will never be bored with his future. His Tour Dates were just awesome. Even when he was tired or sick, David gave 200% and his audience always left begging for more David James Archuleta. As for his not going into the lake, or being topless. Why not respect HIM for HIS mores. And, if you want to see him shirtless, go view his StarDoll.

Like what David Foster said, Archuleta is better off being a Grobanesque type of singer. He looks like a poser here who looks nerdy from the small farm town of Utah and trying to hang out with the cool high-class kids of Beverly Hills or the OC. He looks awkward or one of those kids in high school trying hard to hang out with the cool kids. It's like Barry Manilow trying to be a rock star or Groban trying to be Usher or Kanye West. It is so superficial and manufactured. It is not believable. Sorry. I think he should take the Groban route like what Foster stated, "he will last longer" with that route.
This video shows him just how he is, we as fans know David and this video is proof of it. My son is like that happy with his friends but really shy about expressing his feelings to his crush.

And on his break before the tour started, David went to Lake Powell with some of the seniors who were going for a end of high school senior trip. In real life David is well liked and hangs out with a lot of different people including "high- class teens and blondes", and "regular teens" and as far as the "outcast Hispanic" remark goes, that is just laughable. He is a good looking, extremely nice kid. He didn't write the song, but he picked it because it fits him perfectly and a crush is something that teens understand and experience. Everyone has probably had a crush so it is a very relatable song and a great choice on his part. I liked it a lot and I love his unique and soulful voice.

The music video is so unrealistic and pretentious. David does not hang out with those types of people in the video - blondes and upper-class teens. He is the type that hangs out with regular teen boys who talk about games, what’s cool with the dudes, etc. Yolanda is right. He looked like an outcast Hispanic boy. Archuleta did not write that song so the music video does not fit him at all. He is merely a singer of somebody else’s written song. So a music video featuring him as a singer and another boy having a crush with a girl is more fitting. The video is trying hard to make him look like a teen sex idol at its beginning phase.

Great video. I was very concerned that Jive was going to try and change David into someone he is not. Kudos to them for letting David be David. Such a sweet innocent romantic first video. You dont need filth in videos to make them sweet and special. This was perfect. David is stunning as usual and the girl is adorable. He looks painfully awkward. What a geeky kid. The other kids all look 3-4 years older than him. Why didn't he go swimming too in the storyline. It makes him look like the nerdy outcast who can't swim or has skin problems so he can't get into the lake water.
Really sweet video! I'm glad we got a sneak peak at it. It's so David! It's not actually released yet and the bootleg copies get pulled off Youtube almost as fast as they go up. I think the release date is Sept 15 and it should be available on Itunes then.
