The troubled British singer has been included as the latest addition to perform at the 2008 Glastonbury Festival.

AceShowbiz - Despite being labeled as a troubled singer and having so many bad media coverages lately, Amy Winehouse's musical quality is still being acknowledged by many people. The latest appreciation for Amy's music comes from the 2008 Glastonbury Festival organizers as they take the British singer as a late addition for the fest.

Amy will be scheduled to play before the main act on the Pyramid Stage, Jay-Z, performs on June 28. Confirming the news, a source from the event said, "She is performing on the Saturday night, she will be the last performer before Jay-Z."

The source also confirmed that Amy's late inclusion has nothing to do with the recent troubles on her personal life. "We just wanted to make sure her team was happy with the arrangements before she was confirmed," the source explained. "It wasn't due to issues to do with her personal life."

The annual festival itself will be staged at Worthy Farm, six miles from Glastonbury town on June 27-29. Beside Amy and Jay-Z other artists that have been confirmed to perform at the annual event are James Blunt, John Mayer, Panic! At the Disco and many more.

Beside performing at Glastonbury, the "Rehab" singer is also rumored to be included as one of the musicians to play at Nelson Mandela's 90th birthday concert. Not only that, the pop singer is reportedly working together with Pete Doherty and his band Babyshambles to record a new song that will be featured on the band's new album.
