Ringo Starr to Honor Oasis at the Brit Awards

Ringo Starr will appear at London's Brit Awards on February 14th to present Oasis with the prestigious Outstanding Contribution award.

Ringo Starr has been tapped to be the guest presenter of the Brit Awards, during which the former Beatle will present pop-rockers Oasis with the prestigious Outstanding Contribution to Music Award.

The Brit's Awards is slated to take place February 14th at London's Earls Court. With Starr in hand replacing Johnny Depp who backed out at the last minute because of scheduling conflicts, the award event will become the first time ever that Oasis, a big fan of The Beatles, gets the chance to meet one of their heroes.

The 2007 Brit Awards, to be presented by British comedian Russell Brand, will see live performances from the likes of Scissor Sisters, The Killers, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Take That, and Oasis among others.
