Scissor Sisters Have 'Parted Ways' With Drummer
October 22, 2008 02:10:32An official statement saying that Scissor Sisters have split with their current drummer, Paddy Boom, has been posted by the band on their official website. "We would like our fans and friends to know that we have amicably parted ways with the original Scissor drummer Paddy Boom," they announce.
"He will no longer be on stage with us but he will always be our sister," the Grammy Awards-nominated band explain further about the future of their relationship with Boom after the break-up. "Don't worry, we are hard at work on our new record and we can't wait to see you all soon," they add.
Scissor Sisters Begin Third Album Work
January 17, 2008 11:01:25Glam rock group Scissor Sisters have started the long hours in the studio to follow up their BRITS-nominated album 'Ta-Dah' (2006). The band, that have vowed to dedicate two straight years for this new album, have reached the writing level but not yet the arranging.
"It's poppy and since there's no arrangement yet, all of our writing is just piano and my voice. As it take shape, it's gonna even take on more of a style," frontman Jake Shears told Spinner.com. In total there are 15 "really dancy" numbers ready to be polished and one cover of an "obscure song".

Scissor Sisters are working 12 hours a day in the studio with Kylie Minogue. The group is recording their third album and is lining up a number of songs that may actually not made the cut with the Australian singer.
"We definitely work her really hard in the studio, from midday to midnight - although sometimes we pepper it with a shopping trip in between," frontman Jake Shears said. "We've written songs with her that are ridiculous and may never see the light of day. We've also written songs with her that I think are amazing but they may never see the light of day either."

Looks like it's the year for Amy Winehouse. Apart from chart topping album, happiness of newly wed, and not mentioning a worldwide exposure for career, she had just won the Ivor Novello Award for "Rehab".
Initially in US, she flew back to her country to receive the Best Contemporary Song honor. "Thank you all very much," said the 23 years old singer. "I didn't even have time to get drunk - I've only been here about 15 minutes." This winning is her second as she won the same category in 2004 through the song "Stronger Than Me".

Scissor Sisters is going to launch the fourth single from the platinum album "Ta-Dah" (2006). Between the choice of "Lights" and "Kiss You Off", the band has chosen the latter.
A video for this track has been shot and directed by Robert Hales, the same man who masterminded Gnarls Barkley's "Crazy". It will see lead singer Ana Matronic being pampered in a salon. Written on their official site is: "I think it's one of the most polished and professional looking things we've ever done but don't hold that against us; it was so much fun to do. We hope you like it."

The "Ivors" that appreciate the craft of songwriters and composers will be given out anytime soon as the list of nominees revealed. In the 52nd cycle, the Ivor Novello Awards is honoring not only the British but also international artists such as Madonna and Scissor Sisters.
Madonna runs for two categories PRS Most Performed Work and International Hit of The Year, thanks to the single "Sorry" that she co-wrote with Stuart Price. The single is competing with Scissor Sisters's hit "I Don't Feel Like Dancing" that is partly written by Sir Elton John in both categories. In the former their singles will be the competitors of Corinne Bailey Rae's "Put Your Records On" and in the latter against Robbie Williams' "Rudebox".

Bon Jovi will be the first musician to officially re-open the newly rebuilt The O2, or formerly known as Millenium Dome on June 24.
Justin Timberlake, The Rolling Stones, Scissor Sisters, Take That and Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of The War of the Worlds have all booked a time slot for their concerts at the London's stadium. Before them, The O2 will be opened on June 23 for its employees only in a free event featuring Tom Jones, Kaiser Chiefs and Basement Jaxx.

Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Who are only two of the many music acts set to play the upcoming U.S. version of the Virgin Festival, which is about to be held on September 23 at the Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore.
The festival, presented by Virgin Mobile, will also visit Toronto on September 9-10, thus marking the first time the longstanding U.K. festival has left its shores.
Scissor Sisters Set Date for Sophomore Album

Scissor Sisters, the five-piece American glam rock band, have just announced the plan to release their sophomore album. Dubbed "Ta-Dah" the set is first of all scheduled to be released in North America on September 26 later this year under Universal Motown.
"Ta-Dah" will be preceded by the Elton John collaboration "I Don't Feel Like Dancin'," which will be commercially released September 4 internationally. In addition to that, there are also number of new songs that have been featured in recent live performances, including "Paul McCartney," "Hairbaby," "Everybody Wants the Same Thing," "She's My Man" and "Monkey Baby," but it is unknown how many will appear on the final track list.
