Josh Hartnett and Eva Green Join Showtime's Monster Show 'Penny Dreadful'

Josh Hartnett and Eva Green are on board Showtime's upcoming series "Penny Dreadful". Both actors are cast in the lead roles for the monster show, which is created by three-time Oscar nominee John Logan .

Dropping the news at the Television Critics Association summer press tour on Tuesday, July 30, Showtime president David Nevins said "Pearl Harbor" star Hartnett would play Ethan Chandler, a fake American cowboy who impresses Victorian women, but has a dark side. He isn't afraid of violence and is more complicated than he likes to admit.

Cheryl Boone Is First African-American President of the Academy

On Tuesday night, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences revealed the new president of the organization on Twitter. Cheryl Boone Isaacs, who served as the Academy's first vice president during the past year, has been elected as the successor of Hawk Koch, who served a one-year term as president.

Boone Isaacs is, therefore, the first African-American to take charge of the 86-year-old organization. The current head of CBI Enterprises, Inc. is also the third woman ever heading the Academy after actress Bette Davis, who served only for two months in 1941, and screenwriter Fay Kanin, who held the post from 1979-1983.

PSY's new album is set to arrive in September, his management agency TG Entertainment tells Korean media. For the album, PSY will reportedly collaborate with composer Yoo Gyun Hyung, the same person behind his hits "Gangnam Style" and "Gentleman".

The South Korean sensation, whose real name is Park Jae Sang, took to Twitter on Monday, July 29, to announce that he already had three songs to be featured in the new album. "Already done with three songs and they are kinda nice," the singer tweeted.

Justin Bieber's plan to have fun in a nightclub apparently has been ruined. The 19-year-old pop star and his crew went to Griffin Nightclub in the Meatpacking District, New York City, on Monday, July 29. The singer, however, reportedly was denied entry because he was still under 21.

Security guards did not allow him to enter the club because it could cause problems. TMZ reported that after being rejected by the club, Bieber and his entourage tried their luck in another club, Catch.

Lindsay Lohan Leaves Rehab Facility After Completing 90-Day Program

Lindsay Lohan finally got to the end of her 90-day court-ordered rehab on Tuesday, July 30, stepping out of the Cliffside facility in Malibu where she completed her latest substance abuse treatment stint. The 27-year-old actress transferred to Cliffside in mid-June from the Betty Ford Center in Rancho Mirage where she first checked into back in May to begin her treatment program.

Wearing a blue printed dress with a brown suede jacket, a pair of brown aviator shades that matched the color of her hair and clutching a big blue handbag, Lohan flashed a huge grin as she got ready to ride the SUV that picked her up. Insiders reveal LiLo will be staying in a "lower level sober living facility" for the next few days as sort of a transition period, wanting to take some time before she returns to normal living.

Hot on the heels of the debut of "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" first trailer, Ben Stiller is reported setting his eyes on a Thomas Edison movie that The Weinstein Company is currently in talks to produce and finance. The Hollywood Reporter learns that Stiller is one of several directors circling "The Current War".

The film is based on Michael Mitnick's 2011 Black List script. It "chronicles the true-life public battle fought between Thomas Edison and George Westinghouse for domination of the early power industry." It was initially set with "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" helmer Timur Bekmambetov, but no further movement on the project has taken place ever since.

DMX Files for Bankruptcy After Getting Arrested for DUI

Hip-hop artist and actor DMX has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in Manhattan on Monday, July 29, citing he owes around $1 to $10 million in debts and has only $50,000 left in assets. The 42-year-old rapper, whose liabilities include $1.24 million in child support and a $21,000 auto lease, hoped that by filing for bankruptcy, it would enable him to "reorganize my financial affairs."

"DMX's financial strains have been inhibiting his career for several years. Poor financial management by prior representation have caused him to be ineligible to retain a passport," read a statement released by the artist's publicist. "The purpose of this bankruptcy filing is for reorganization so he can perform for his fans overseas. We are currently planning a tour in Europe and Africa for the fall of 2013."

Through the video which is set to Of Monsters and Men's "Dirty Paws", it is easy to tell that Ben Stiller delivers a potentially award-winning performance as the titular character, who retreats to his fantasy world to become a hero he cannot be in the real world.

There is barely any dialogue included in it as the trailer mostly features scenes of Stiller dreaming up some epic fantasies before being snapped back into real life by his tormenting co-worker, played by Adam Scott. Kristen Wiig also makes a brief appearance as Stiller's love interest and beautiful co-worker whom he saves from avalanche in his fantasy.

Showtime Boss Teases Possible 'Dexter' Spin-Off

"Dexter" legacy may be felt strongly on Showtime after it ends its run later this year. At the Television Critics Association's summer press tour, Showtime entertainment president David Nevins hinted at a possible "Dexter" spin-off.

Nevins got the talk started after announcing that "Dexter" showrunner Scott Buck had signed a two-year overall deal to develop new projects for the network. "We announced a deal with Scott Buck today, draw your own conclusions," he said during the panel on Tuesday, July 30.

Teresa and Joe Giudice Released on $1M Bond, Briefed on Possible Deportation

Teresa Giudice and her husband Giuseppe "Joe" Giudice were set free by Judge Cathy Waldor after posting a $500,000 bond each Tuesday, July 30. "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" stars appeared in court for a hearing of their federal fraud and tax charges.

The couple was ordered to surrender their passports and limit their travel to New Jersey and New York only. During the hearing in Newark Federal Court, they were also briefed on the possibility of Joe, an Italian citizen, being deported to his home country if he's convicted.

Paul Wesley and his wife, actress Torrey DeVitto, have separated. "The Vampire Diaries" actor and the "Pretty Little Liars" actress are divorcing after two years of marriage.
