MTV Developing 'Paranormal Activity'-Esque Drama 'The Experiment'

Although "The River" failed to capitalize on the success of "Paranormal Activity" by adapting the found-footage style, it doesn't stop MTV from developing another project with the same format. Jason Blum, who was among the producers of "Paranormal Activity", is working on the new drama pilot called "The Experiment" for the network.

Blum, who was also one of the co-executive producers for the short-lived ABC series "The River", is joined by Naomi Despres ("The English Teacher") as the executive producers of the so-called "found-footage mystery" project. Brian Horiuchi ("Terminal D") and Miguel Sapochnik ("House M.D."), meanwhile, provide the story with the latter being attached to direct.

'Cloud Atlas' Premieres Elaborated First International Trailer

Shortly after unleashing a host of new stills, "Cloud Atlas" premieres its first international trailer. The 5-minute promotional video is studded with various scenes revolving around several different characters in some different ages. There are scenes that take place in ancient days, modern days and even the future.

Screenwriter Lana Wachowski has explained that each actor plays multiple roles in the kaleidoscopic tale. "We thought about these individual characters as aspects of larger characters. Their lives are interwoven over one big story that takes place over a thousand years," so Wachowski told Entertainment Weekly.

Madonna broke her silence on why she incorporated the swastika in a segment of her "MDNA" tour. During an interview on Brazilian television, the singer reasoned out that there was a purpose for the appearance of the symbol.

"That film that was created is about the intolerance that we human beings have for one another and how much we judge people before knowing them," she said. "There seems to be a growing intolerance around the world. In Greece, France, everywhere people are trying to kick out all the immigrants, make people cover up and not show what their religious affiliation is."

'Once Upon a Time' Finds Its Sir Lancelot, 'Grimm' Nabs 'Vampire Diaries' Star

"Once Upon a Time" has added another actor to its cast ensemble of its sophomore season. This time, the show casts Sinqua Walls in a recurring role of Sir Lancelot, who is onetime proud member of King Arthur's Round Table.

Slated to appear in at least two episodes, the character will be introduced as a "sword for hire with nothing to lose," so TVLine reports. Although he once had such prideful position, he has since been banished and been separated from his true love.

Plot details of "Thor: The Dark World" haven't been unveiled, but reports about where the filming will take place have already emerged. It was Bleeding Cool which claimed to have obtained the information that the "Thor" sequel would be filmed underground.

The site stated that the sequel was set to be filmed this summer in some long tunnels in London. Still, it is unclear whether the set will be transformed into some places on Earth, on Asgard or elsewhere. The reported underground location seemingly matches the film title "The Dark World".

Aerosmith and Run DMC Perform 'Walk This Way'

Aerosmith were in New Jersey on Tuesday night, July 24 playing a sold-out show. The audience members were surprised when Darryl "DMC" McDaniels appeared on stage to join the rock band in performing the classic hit "Walk This Way".

They performed one of the very first rap-rock hits in perfect timing with each other. McDaniels delivered his lines completely in sync with the music. Unfortunately, his bandmate, Joseph "Run" Simmons, was not part of the recreation of the 1986 hit.

Comedy Central has extended its contracts with its two staple late-night show hosts, Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert. Both comedians have signed new deals that will keep them on the network for two more years.

With the contract renewal, Stewart is bound to serve as executive producer, writer and host of "The Daily Show With Jon Stewart" through the middle of 2015. Meanwhile, Colbert will continue executive producing, writing for and hosting "The Colbert Report" until the end of 2014.

Confirmed: 'Gangster Squad' Gets Delayed to Alter Theater Shoot-Out Scene

It's official, "Gangster Squad" will not grace theaters nationwide this September. Warner Bros. Pictures has announced that the much-talked-about mob thriller will be pushed back to January 11, 2013.

As reported previously, the studio aims to reshoot a climatic scene in the movie that features a gunfight in the Grauman's Chinese Theatre. The theater shoot-out scene recently sparked controversy in the wake of the recent Aurora massacre that claimed the lives of 12 people during "The Dark Knight Rises" midnight screening.

Summit Refuses to Edit 'Step Up Revolution' Gas Mask Scene

In the wake of the Aurora shooting tragedy, some studios have taken actions to change scenes in their upcoming films which coincidentally bore resemblance to the headline-grabbing incident. Summit Entertainment, however, refused to alter the scene in "Step Up Revolution" which features a gang of dancers entering a room in gas masks.

The masks shown in the upcoming pic are similar to the one donned by James Holmes when he did the massacre during the midnight screening of "The Dark Knight Rises". The scene in "Step Up 4", meanwhile, shows some dancers infiltrating a party while wearing the gas masks and carrying smoke cannisters.

"I've never heard my grandmother talk like that," TJ said in the Los Angeles court, adding, "She wasn't sharp. The pauses, choice of vocabulary ...she has not used certain phrases like that before."
