As it was promised before, the full version of first promo for "American Idol" season 11 has been debuted on Sunday night, October 23 during Game 4 of the World Series. John Mayer is taking a complete vocal rest after a throat surgery. A little more than a month after announcing that he had an inflamed nodule or tumor-like mass of tissue just above his vocal cords, the "Waiting on the World to Change" singer revealed through his blog that he has gone under the knife to correct the condition.

"I had surgery this afternoon to remove it and am now on complete vocal rest for a month or more," wrote the 34-year-old on Thursday, October 20. "It's been a very long process in waiting to see if time was an alternative to surgery, but even given two weeks' voice rest (along with many other approaches), there was no change for the better."

Kelsey Grammer's "Boss" has just lost its bosses. Richard Levine and Lyn Greene, who served as executive producers/co-showrunners, have reportedly left the new political show which recently debuted its first season on Friday, October 21.

There is no word on why Levine and Greene quit the Starz new series, but Deadline says search is currently underway for a new writing executive producer to join Farhad Safinia in season 2. Amidst rumors that her marriage is on the rocks, Kim Kardashian flew to Las Vegas with husband Kris Humphries and her family to celebrate her 31st birthday. Although "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows" is still two months away from arriving in U.S. theaters, Warner Bros. Pictures is already planning a third installment for the Robert Downey Jr.-starring detective movie franchise. Words are, the studio has already hired a screenwriter to pen the script for "Sherlock Holmes 3".

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. has tapped Drew Pearce to serve as the scribe for the next "Sherlock Holmes" movie. Pearce is currently writing the screenplay for "Iron Man 3", which also stars Downey Jr. Additionally, he tackles the script for Paramount Pictures' DC Comics-adapted superhero movie, "The Mighty".

"Paranormal Activity 3" successfully tops the North American box office on its debut weekend. Though receiving a "C+" CinemaScore, the horror movie surpasses expectations by earning $54 million, making it the best opening of all time for a horror movie. It also scores the biggest October debut ever, knocking down last year's "Jackass 3D" which grossed $50.4 million.

The R-rated horror appeals to mostly younger audience, with 53% of them being under the age of 25. Rob Moore, the vice chairman of Paramount Pictures, praises producers and directors of "PA3" for having done a great job to make another hit. He adds that the fourth movie is currently in the works, believing that "people certainly continue to be very interested in the franchise."

"The Talk" has tapped Aisha Tyler as its new full-time co-host, joining Sara Gilbert, Julie Chen, Sharon Osbourne and Sheryl Underwood. The 41-year-old actress/stand-up comedian will begin her regular gig on Monday, October 24, Deadline reports.

Tyler, along with Underwood, is the new addition to the host line-up in season 2 following Leah Remini and Holly Robinson Peete's departure. The Andrea Marino of "Ghost Whisperer" has previously served as a guest host on the CBS daytime talk show for a week.
