A new year means new things to come and movie industry takes part in this, too. Since successful flicks like "Avatar" and "Inception" have set the bar higher last year, people can expect more developed films, both in stories and technology, for their entertainment in 2011.

While Michael Bay combines the action-packed signature with 3-D in "Transformers: Dark of the Moon", Terrence Malick pitches a fresh story for "The Tree of Life" that presents drama in a more twisting way. Other films that have become talks of the town during 2010 and will potentially become box office hits are sorted in this list of The 10 Most Anticipated Movies in 2011 by AceShowbiz.

Emily Osment's "Lovesick" music video makes its way out over the weekend. The clip features the "Hannah Montana" star doing some robotic moves and singing the song in a dark room with lights glowing around her.

"My entire idea for the music video was based around a robot concept, about robot love," the 18-year-old songstress said. "How love is universal and all that." She had already got the idea about this video while she was recording the song in studio.

The first official trailer for "Thor" was debuted by Paramount Pictures almost a month ago but there is still plenty that we don't know about the film. However, some details have now been leaked to provide spoilers ahead of the film release.

The major spoilers first came out on SuperHeroHype forums and were then confirmed by Comic Book Movie's source. [SPOILER ALERT!] It says the film will start with Natalie Portman's Jane, Kat Dennings' Darcy and Stellan Skarsgard's Professor Andrews in a van out in the New Mexico desert observing a phenomenon in the sky. This is when Chris Hemsworth's Thor drops to Earth. Jane accidentally hits him with her van and she does that again later in the film.

Jay-Z's Broadway musical "Fela!", about famed musician and activist Fela Kuti, is heading to the late star's native Nigeria. The Tony Award-winning show, which is currently starring Patti LaBelle in the role of Fela's mother, closed on Broadway on Sunday, January 2 night after 13 months in the Big Apple.

Now Edward Tyler Nahem, who co-produced the Broadway run with Jay-Z and Will Smith, is taking the production to the Nigerian capital of Lagos after proving its draw by bringing big names to its audience. Nahem tells the New York Post, "Fela Kuti was to the music of the last 40 years what Picasso was to art in the 20th century."

"The X Factor" winner Matt Cardle has continued his chart reign in the U.K. after landing the first number one single of 2011. The singer topped the chart for the third consecutive week on Sunday, January 2 night with "When We Collide", while Rihanna and Drake's duet "What's My Name?" stayed in second place.

The Black Eyed Peas' "The Time (Dirty Bit)" took third spot, Ellie Goulding's "Your Song" and Katy Perry's hit "Firework" rounded out the top five.

British singer Cheryl Cole has reignited speculation she's dating professional dancer Derek Hough after the pair jetted out to South Africa for an intimate New Year's Eve vacation.

The Girls Aloud star was rumored to be dating the "Dancing With the Stars" dancer following her split from soccer star husband Ashley Cole last year. Hough's dad seemingly confirmed the pair was an item, but Cole kept silent about their relationship.

Arnold Schwarzenegger has used his last day as California Governor to reduce the prison term handed to the son of U.S. politician Fabian Nunez. Esteban Nunez, 22, pleaded guilty last May to voluntary manslaughter and assault stemming from the fatal stabbing of student Luis Santos during a brawl near San Diego State University in 2008.

He was handed a 16-year sentence - but on Sunday, January 2 Schwarzenegger cut the term to seven years. The "Terminator" star described the sentence as "excessive" as Nunez didn't inflict the fatal stab wound, reports the Los Angeles Times. Schwarzenegger is leaving the Californian office on Monday, January 3.

Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay was doused in petrol and held at gunpoint as he tried to uncover the dark world of illegal shark fin trading for a new TV show. The "Hell's Kitchen" star was shooting scenes for a British programme "Big Fish Fight" when he confronted gangsters in Costa Rica who had slaughtered thousands of sharks to sell their sought-after fins.

But Ramsay was left terrified when the gang kept their guns trained on him and his TV crew before throwing fuel over him. He was later advised by local police to flee the country for his own safety.

Justin Bieber was photographed kissing his rumored girlfriend Selena Gomez, for real this time. While the previous kissing picture was deemed fake, these new ones look more real, seeing Bieber landing his kiss on her right cheek. He was shirtless, while Gomez hid her bikini bod in a towel.

In some other pictures, 18-year-old Gomez who wore a blue bikini was seen hugging 16-year-old Bieber from behind. The two young stars reportedly boarded a private yacht for a New Year vacation to the Caribbean when the pictures were taken.

Courteney Cox has publicly offered her "love and support" to her estranged husband David Arquette, insisting he has entered a rehabilitation center to "better his life". The "Scream" star entered a facility over the New Year weekend to tackle his alcohol and depression issues following his separation from Cox in October.

The former "Friends" actress has confirmed the rehab reports, telling People.com, "I really admire David and his choice to take charge and better his life. I love and support him." It is not known how long Arquette will receive treatment for as WENN goes to press.

Pamela Anderson was left shaken on Sunday, January 2 evening when U.K. police arrested a man who allegedly became violent after trying to confront the blond beauty on a train in Liverpool, England.

The former "Baywatch" star was set to leave Liverpool Lime Street railway station to travel to London after finishing her run in traditional festive pantomime "Aladdin" when an overzealous fan tried to board the same carriage.

The first half of "The Ward" international trailer has been shared to tease those looking forward to the next directorial work of John Carpenter. The partial trailer follows Amber Heard's Kristen who is brought to a remote ward of Chamberlain Psychiatric Hospital with no idea why she was there and no memory of her life. It ends right after Kristen is haunted by a mysterious figure in a bathroom.

The other patients in the ward, four equally troubled girls, offer no answers and Kristen quickly realizes things are not as they seem. One by one the girls disappear and Kristen must find a way out of this hellish place before the ghost comes for her too. As she struggles to escape, she will uncover a truth far more dangerous and horrifying than anyone could have imagined.

Nicki Minaj has filmed "Moment 4 Life" music video with Drake, and several pictures have been unleashed via Hip-Hop Connection to reveal what to expect from the clip. Apparently playing a couple, the two Young Money rappers get intimate in the video, sharing laugh in one image.

They are seen leaning on each other for a kiss in another picture. The scene looks like a wedding with Minaj wearing a pink wig and what seems to be a white gown while holding a bouquet of flowers, while Drizzy sporting a tuxedo. Back in August 2010, they had stunned their fans when jokingly announcing marriage on Twitter.

Robert Pattinson spent the change of year with his favorite person, Kristen Stewart. The "Twilight" co-stars as well as rumored lovers chose to have a quiet celebration in a small pub on the Isle of Wight which is the same place they welcomed 2010.

Pattinson and Stewart gathered with their friends at The Spyglass Inn in Ventnor, drinking, singing and posing for pictures with fans who were not surprised to find them there. "We were hoping they would come back to the pub again this year and when they walked through the door no-one could quite believe it," an onlooker told The Sun.

Before sending her debut single "Turn It Up" to public, Kim Kardashian tried it out by playing for clubbers at TAO Las Vegas over the weekend. "Hi you guys, I didn't mean to, but I did this song with The-Dream, and it's really fun. I hope you guys like it," she said.

Don't expect to see "24: The Movie" in a short future. Despite the fact that it already has had a script written by Billy Ray, the 20th Century Fox is not going to move forward with the project since they have rejected the script.

No details are provided on why the studio nixed the script. But Howard Gordon, the longtime executive producer of "24" series who is also expected to produce the big screen version, tells Entertainment Weekly, "As far as I know, it is in suspended animation."

"Desperate Housewives" is officially in motion for the rest of season 7 episodes. Next week in "Where Do I Belong", while Susan continues to undergo dialysis, she is stunned when her flighty mother, Sophie (Lesley Ann Warren), along with her Aunt Claire (Valerie Harper), pays a visit but won't agree to get tested to see if she would be a potential kidney donor candidate.

A new behind the scenes look at "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" has made its way out via Disney's Movie Surfers and now the video has hit the web. Featuring several scenes from the film as well as the making process, the snippet also includes an interview with Johnny Depp who says he enjoys filming every scene in the movie.

This fourth "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie will present a standalone story of Depp's Jack Sparrow who will cross paths with a woman from his past, Angelica, but he's not sure if it's love - or if she's a ruthless con artist who's using him to find the fabled Fountain of Youth. Still, the two along with Sparrow's nemesis Blackbeard aboard the Queen Anne's Revenge on a journey to find the fabled Fountain of Youth together.

Syfy's take on "Being Human" will soon be premiered and so will BBC's. The official trailer of the original version's third series has been released, showing the supernatural beings tempted by their natural instincts.

Aidan Turner plays Mitchell, the vampire who gets distracted by a woman's neck in an empty bus. Sinead Keenan and Russell Tovey are the werewolves who switch their attention to the raw meat that the butcher puts on counter while they are shopping. Leonora Crichlow plays Annie the ghost who drops books from their shelves in what looks like a library. They could have been caught but their better sense allow them to live among humans once again.

Ke$ha, Drake and Willow Smith spent New Year's Eve with their fans. They rang in 2011 at the annual "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest" and sent concertgoers into frenzy when they rocked the house with their hit singles.

Ke$ha delighted the crowd with "Tik Tok". Wearing torn stockings, silver leotard, white unbuttoned shirt and black jacket, she stunned the revelers as she rode on the shoulders of a man dressed as Santa Claus during the performance and revealed her foul-mouthed resolution.

Lady GaGa hasn't wasted any time expanding her resume in 2011 - she's set to announce a new collaboration with Polaroid instant cameras later this month. GaGa announced plans to help bosses at the famed photography firm revive their classic cameras after production halted back in 2008, and she went on to create a range of fashionable, fast-selling items for the brand.

Now brand bosses have snapped up the "Paparazzi" hitmaker once again, for what they call the Polaroid Grey Label. Further details about the collaboration are set to be announced at the 2011 Consumer Electronic Show (CES) in Las Vegas on Thursday, January 6.

Veteran actress Zsa Zsa Gabor is facing the loss of her leg as doctors try to stop a blood clot from spreading, according to her husband. Prince Frederic von Anhalt tells TMZ.com he has taken his wife to hospital and fears her leg will be amputated.

Von Anhalt says doctors advised him before the holidays to take her in and have the surgery done, but Gabor refused. The medics have since told her if she didn't have the surgery immediately she would lose her life.

Celine Dion showed off her newborn twins in a family Christmas card to employees at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. The singer appears with her husband Rene Angelil and their son Rene-Charles on the front of the festive keepsake.

Dion will return to Caesars Palace for shows beginning March 15. Inside, she wrote she and her family are "looking forward to returning to Las Vegas," adding, "with the twins Nelson and Eddy, there's going to be a lot going on around our house!!!!"

She first stunned the crowd with a bizarre performance that included straddling a man dressed a Santa Claus, whacking what appeared to be an Easter Bunny pinata, and urging the crowd to "make 2011 our b**ch!" And she shocked millions minutes before the clock struck midnight, as viewership peaked, when Seacrest asked her about her New Year's resolution and the wild child hitmaker quipped, "Not become a d**chebag."

Canadian musician David Foster is the latest star set to ring in 2011 with wedding bells. He reportedly proposed to Dutch model Yolanda Hadid over the Christmas holidays.

The Grammy-winning producer, who is famous for helping the careers of artists such as Celine Dion, Josh Groban and Michael Buble, reportedly proposed at a friend's home in Bel Air, California, where the couple met. The insider tells the New York Post, "He pulled out a 14-carat dazzling sparkler from jeweler Martin Katz, and the entire party erupted in applause."

Natalie Portman has blasted reports she is set to appear in the next installments of the "Superman" and "Batman" movie franchises. The actress was rumored to have landed a part in Zack Snyder's upcoming film "The Man of Steel", but Portman insists she's not even been approached for the project.

She tells Entertainment Weekly, "What is that? No, I haven't heard anything." And when Portman was questioned about a reported role in Christopher Nolan's next Batman movie "The Dark Knight Rises", she responded, "Oh, I don't know anything about that."

Lindsay Lohan's estranged father Michael has commissioned a singer from the Grammy-winning group All 4 One to write a song dedicated to the troubled actress. Delious Kennedy has revealed he's agreed to put pen to paper for a tune he calls "My Rose", a dance club track about the "Mean Girls" star.

Michael Lohan says the song is about a "talented and beautiful young lady who has grown in our hearts, she is badgered by paparazzi, cut down by the media," adding, "She will wilt, but when she falls, I will always be there to pick her up and put her petals back on."

A stuntman who was injured in Broadway's troubled "Spider-Man" musical is scheduled to leave his rehabilitation center on Wednesday, January 5 and will continue treatment in New York. Christopher Tierney was forced to spend Christmas, December 25 under doctors' care after falling from a ledge during a performance of "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark" on December 20.

Tierney suffered several broken ribs, a fractured elbow, a bruised lung, three fractured vertebrae and a cracked skull, and subsequently underwent back surgery. But the 31 year old continues to make good progress in his recovery - he was transferred from the intensive care unit at New York's Bellevue Hospital to an inpatient rehab facility in the city on Thursday, December 30. And now show spokesman Rick Miramontez has confirmed Tierney will be released from a rehab facility later this week.

British actress and TV host Amanda Holden is six months pregnant with her second child. The "Britain's Got Talent" judge has announced she is expecting a baby boy with her husband, Chris Hughes.

Taking to her Twitter.com blog to reveal the happy news, she writes, "Just to let you know. I am 6 months pregnant with a baby boy!! Have had to keep it quiet until now." And newsman Piers Morgan, who appears on the "Britain's Got Talent" panel alongside Holden, has already tweeted his congratulations to the star: "OK - Amanda Holden's pregnant. Diddy shares an episode of his real-life experience in a story of a male who finds the woman of his dreams during a traveling show. The cinematic love story is brought to life through a collection of dark, atmospheric beats which are partially inspired by European dance music. The album is titled "Last Train to Paris". Diddy invites such hitmakers as Chris Brown, Drake, Trey Songz, Usher and Justin Timberlake aboard.

The CW has released multiple videos to remind fans of "Hellcats" return in the past few days. Now an extended look into the January 25 episode called "Papa, Oh Papa" includes some new footage instead of a throwback into the first half of the season.

"Hellcats" moves to a new night, being paired with "One Tree Hill" on Tuesdays. The previous occupant "Life Unexpected" is not renewed and would air its last episode on January 18. Meanwhile, "Hellcats" old slot on Wednesdays 9/8c is now taken by a new show called "Shedding for the Wedding". Combined with "America's Next Top Model", "Shedding" will serve The CW audience with a night of reality.

More details from the widely reported "Toy Story" short film have emerged in a form of a summary of a children's book entitled "Play-cation!" which will be published by Random House/Disney on August 9. It describes further the Barbie-and-Ken-Hawaiian-honeymoon-themed plot which was unveiled before.

"Bonnie is off to Hawaii, and Barbie and Ken are excited to go along on their first tropical vacation! But when they're accidentally left behind, it's up to Buzz, Woody, and the rest of the toys to create a Hawaiian paradise right in Bonnie's room," so read the synopsis for the book which is based on the latest animated short featuring the toys from Disney/Pixar "Toy Story". The Pixar Blog was the first which found the synopsis.

Chuck Berry was forced to cut his Chicago, Illinois concert short on Saturday night, January 1, after he collapsed on stage mid-show. The 84 year old startled fans an hour into his gig at the Concert Theater when he slumped over a keyboard and had to be escorted off stage to be checked by paramedics.

After being examined, Berry returned to the stage to thank confused fans who waited for the show to continue, but he told the crowd he was unable to carry on. According to Fire Department spokesman, Joe Roccasalva, Berry signed a release saying he was fine, and was not taken to a hospital.

Avril Lavigne's brand new song titled "What the Hell" has finally made its way out. The lead single of her new album "Goodbye Lullaby", it's a pop/rock song which carries a lot of fun elements from such her singles as "Hey You" and "Sk8erboi".

"You say that I'm messing with your head/ All 'cause I was making out with your friends/ Love hurts whether it's right or wrong/ I can't stop 'cause I'm having too much time," she sings. "All my live I've been good but now, I'm thinking what the hell/ All I want is to mess around and I don't really care about."

Swedish actor Per Oscarsson is feared dead after a fire set his home ablaze on Friday, December 31, according to the Associated Press. Police spokesman Jan Strommegard says the remains of one person were found on Sunday, January 2 in the ashes of the house in Skara, which are believed to be those of the 83-year-old actor or his wife, 67-year-old Kia Ostling.

Both were reported missing by their relatives who say the couple apparently was home when the fire destroyed the house early Friday morning. The cause of the fire was unknown as WENN went to press.

Actor Kristoffer Polaha and his actress wife Julianne Morris are celebrating a new addition to their family, after welcoming a baby over the weekend. "Life Unexpected"'s Polaha, 33, and soap star Morris, 42, welcomed their third son on Sunday, January 2 morning, E! Online reports.

The couple, which married in 2003, are already parents to Caleb, six, and Michah, four. The actor posted a message on his Facebook page on January 2, "It's 1:25 Sunday morning, I ain't up because of a new years eve party. Hmmmmm. Can anyone say baby?"

"Jackass" star Preston Lacy has been charged with marijuana possession following a December arrest in Oklahoma. The daredevil, who is most often featured with Jason Acuna, aka Wee-Man, in the U.S. TV series and companion movies, was arrested on December 14 after police found him in possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

According to TMZ.com, the 41 year old had marijuana and rolling papers in his possession. He was charged with two misdemeanors. If convicted Lacy could spend up to two years in prison and face $2,000 in fines.

It seems that David Arquette wants to start 2011 as a sober man. He has checked into rehab during the holiday weekend, his representative confirms. The actor partied at Beacher's Madhouse at the Roosevelt Hotel on New Year's Eve before entering a live-in facility, TMZ reports.

While his representative says "no further information" would be released, a source reveals that David needs help with alcohol and other issues. "He is in there for drinking and depression, not hard drugs. Rehab was inevitable," says the source of the "Pushing Daisies" star who split from his wife Courteney Cox in October 2010. "He is dealing with a broken heart. He can't handle all the changes in his life. All his inner demons came out."

British pop stars Take That have fought off competition from The Beatles and Michael Jackson to be named the best-selling music act ever on website Amazon.co.uk. The group's latest record, "Progress", has dominated Britain's album chart since it was released last month and has gone on to sell more than 1.8 million copies.

Combined with sales of previous discs, Take That have topped the online retailer's music rundown to find the best seller since the site launched in 1998. The Beatles came second on the list, while Michael Jackson was third.

Rockers Paramore are moving on from the recent departure of the Farro brothers by starting work on a new album. Josh Farro and his brother Zac Farro, who founded the group with singer Hayley Williams and bassist Jeremy Davis in 2004, left the band earlier this month, playing their last their show with the group in Orlando, Florida on December 12.

Josh subsequently spoke out about the siblings' decision to quit, accusing Williams of taking over and causing arguments. MTV releases a preview of "Jersey Shore" season 3 and two violations occur in the first 40 seconds of the promo. Snooki was on the way to pick up the gang's new member Deena Cortese and she used the phone while driving there. When pulling in the driveway, she accidentally ran over a cat.

The ten minutes preview is about how Deena infused into the group. The first attempt to prove that she is Snooki number 2 is to get wild with one of the guidos. The Situation was offered a full and free glimpse of Deena's naked butt and her "nana" after he was lured to her room for a lame reason.

A representative for Marc Anthony has confirmed the Latin singer has worked out a deal with U.S. authorities to pay off his multi-million dollar tax debts. Jennifer Lopez's Grammy-winning husband owes $3.4 million to the Internal Revenue Service, according to tax liens obtained by Eonline.com.

The sum is linked to unpaid taxes on the "I Need to Know" hitmaker's Long Island, New York property. A spokesperson reveals the star has enlisted the help of his management and financial team to reach "an agreement in principle resolving all of (his) federal tax liabilities... Pamela Anderson has been honored for her tireless work to end animal cruelty - she's been named People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA)'s Person of the Year. The former "Baywatch" beauty was awarded the title after a year in which she drew attention to animal rights issues by speaking to students at the U.K.'s prestigious Oxford University, posing for pictures with her body painted in butcher markings, and filming a TV commercial in which she strip-searches plane passengers for hidden furs and pelts.

Arnold Schwarzenegger is considering a return to acting after he steps down from his post as California Governor next week. The "Terminator" star stepped away from Hollywood to pursue a career in politics and he's been in charge of the state of California since 2003. He will step down at the beginning of 2011 and hand over the role to incoming Democrat Jerry Brown, sparking speculation over his next move.

Schwarzenegger, who filmed short cameo roles for "Terminator Salvation" and "The Expendables" during his stint as governor, admits he finds it easy to take up acting again after long breaks, but can't officially reveal his plans until he is out of office. He tells Variety, "It is like bicycling, or like skiing. You get on it and you feel like there is no time lapse there at all..."

"Little Fockers" has proven to be a perfect option for holidays' movie. It wins at North American Box Office on new year's weekend with $25.8 million cume after debuting on number one during Christmas.

"True Grit" still follows on number two, adding $24.4 million to its domestic revenue. "Tron Legacy" also remains strong, securing the second runner-up position in its third week with $18.8 million gross.

Lady GaGa celebrated New Year by announcing release dates for her new album "Born This Way" and its lead single. "THE SONG 2 13 11 THE RECORD 5 23 11," she posted on Twitter along with a picture of her stripping down from the waist down and wearing a jacket with the album title emblazoned on the back.

Actress Valerie Bertinelli celebrated the New Year by marrying fiance Tom Vitale at her Malibu, California home. They exchanged vow on Saturday, January 1 on a sunny day, according to reports.

Bertinelli's ex-husband, Eddie Van Halen, their son Wolfgang Van Halen and Eddie's current wife Janie Liszewski were at the wedding. Bertinelli also attended her ex-husband's wedding to Liszewski in 2009.

Rocker Sebastian Bach and his wife of 18 years are to divorce. The Skid Row frontman has revealed he and Maria Bierk have been separated since April 2010. In a statement to TMZ.com, Bach says, "We have tried to work things out for the sake of our family, but it has become apparent that our differences at this point are irreconcilable. In 2011, we go our separate ways."

The couple has three children together - sons Paris, 21, and London 14, and daughter Sebastiana, three.

A TV re-enactment of Michael Jackson's autopsy has been shelved after the late superstar's estate executors urged network bosses to axe the macabre and controversial special. Discovery Channel chiefs have canceled plans to air the program, "Michael Jackson's Autopsy: What Really Killed Michael Jackson".

A statement from the network reads, "Given the commencement of legal proceedings beginning next week, and at the request of Michael Jackson's estate, the scheduled broadcast of the medical documentary related to Michael Jackson's official autopsy has been postponed indefinitely."

Paramount Pictures has shared some footage from one of the highly anticipated movies this year, "Captain America: The First Avenger". A very short promo video coming out on Entertainment Tonight gives a quick glimpse of Chris Evans as the famed superhero aka Steve Rogers.

A longer preview and more pictures from the film are expected to come out soon as it is set for July 22 release in the U.S. Stanley Tucci, Hugo Weaving, Sebastian Stan and Samuel L. Jackson are among the cast ensemble of this Joe Johnston-directed action movie.

Shania Twain has wed fiance Frederic Thiebaud in Puerto Rico. The couple rang in the New Year with the ceremony in Rincon on Saturday, January 1, just weeks after announcing their engagement. The pair started dating in 2009 and Twain announced the news of her engagement in a letter to fans she posted on her website last month.

She wrote, "I am excited to share some personal news with you; I'm in love! Frederic Nicolas Thiebaud has been a true gift to me as a compassionate, understanding friend and over time, an amazing love has blossomed from this precious friendship."
