Cher Lloyd might not be the 2010 winner of "The X Factor", but she took one step ahead of her fellow "X Factor" friends by landing a record deal in the U.S. with rap mogul Jay-Z. "Even though Cher didn't do terrifically well in the X Factor finals, there's been a hell of a lot of interest in her," a source said.

Before sealing the deal with Roc Nation, Cher reportedly was in the middle of bidding war between will.i.am and Jigga. A new look at "Water for Elephants" has emerged online. Mostly containing scenes which have been featured in the first teaser trailer, the new teaser still manages to give a look at some never-before-seen dramatic scenes. The said footage see among others Robert Pattinson's Jacob and Reese Witherspoon's Marlena who get caught making out, and Jacob being confronted and threatened by some other guys.

Based on bestseller book by Sara Gruen entitled "Water for Elephants", the movie follows Jacob, an orphaned veterinary student who is put in charge of caring for the animals in a traveling circus. He later falls in love with Marlena, a beautiful equestrian rider, but she is married to the troupe's charismatic but dangerous animal trainer August.

National Football League commissioners were not happy when Brett Favre failed to cooperate in an investigation of picture scandal involving him and a female Jets employee. The Minnesota Vikings quarterback has been ordered to pay $50,000 in fine for the lack of cooperation.

The scandal surfaced after graphic pictures and suggestive messages, Favre allegedly sent to Jenn Sterger in 2008, made their way out earlier this year. The investigation was held later on, but "commissioner [Roger] Goodell determined that Favre was not candid in several respects during the investigation, resulting in a longer review and additional negative public attention for Favre, Sterger, and the N.F.L."

Bono's teenage daughter Memphis Eve Hewson is dating "One Tree Hill" hunk James Lafferty, according to a U.S. report. Actress Hewson, 19, and Lafferty, 25, were spotted getting close as they watched the Leopardstown Horse Races with the U2 frontman and his wife Ali from their private box in Dublin, Ireland on Tuesday, December 28.

Jazz musician Billy Taylor has died of heart failure, aged 89. The star passed away in New York on Tuesday, December 28, according to his daughter Kim Taylor-Thompson.

With a career dating back to the 1940s, the musician founded the Billy Taylor Trio and composed more than 300 songs, including the civil rights anthem "I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel to Be Free". Taylor played with musical greats including Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald during his time in the spotlight.

A racy animal rights advert featuring Pamela Anderson has been banned from another airport after officials in Hong Kong deemed the promo too risky. Anderson is seen posing as a scantily-clad member of airport security staff in the clip for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).

She is shown stripping passengers, including star Steve-O and comic Andy Dick, of their leather, fur and other animal products as they pass through security checks. It was banned from Logan International Airport in Boston, Massachusetts in November and now chiefs at Hong Kong's airport have refused to screen the ad, because it was "considered inappropriate" and might offend some visitors, reports the AFP.

Michelle Williams refuses to let her daughter Matilda star alongside her in movies - because she wants to let the youngster choose her own path in life. The "Brokeback Mountain" star admits she once thought about letting a director cast the five year old, her child with the late Heath Ledger, with her in a film, but ultimately decided against the opportunity.

She tells Reuters, "There were a few very sweet, very light scenes that were more about playing. They were having a hard time finding a child and I said to the director, 'Gosh, Matilda would be the right age.' But then (I) realized if that's something she's interested in, then it's a choice she can make in her own life. It's something she's never expressed interest in doing. Her interests are horseback riding, Flamenco dancing and taking care of puppies."

"The Twilight Saga's Breaking Dawn" will allegedly feature two contradictory things, life and death. While welcoming their daughter Renesmee, Edward and Bella will be seen dead in the second part of the film, says a source who claims to have read the script.

According to Lainey Gossip (via Hollywood Life), this bloody scene happens as the Volturi confront the Cullens about their half vampire/half human child, Renesmee. While in the book the conflict is solved with talking, both parties are almost involved in brutal killings in the film version.

After "Syllables" featuring Eminem surfaced, now a song titled "Cocaine" from the Slim Shady hits the web again. It has actually been leaked since last week in a short snippet, and many speculated the female voice on the hook was Alicia Keys. Now after the full version is unveiled, it turns out the featured guest was Jazmine Sullivan.

Rumor has it, the song was taken from recording session of the Slim Shady's latest studio effort "Recovery". It is further reported that the soulful track will be included in the re-release package of the album which is due sometime next year.

Jennifer Hudson has lost some weight after giving birth to her son David Daniel Otunga Jr. in August 2009, and now she flaunts her new slim figure in "Feeling Good" music video. The clip hit the web a day before its official premiere date on December 30 at 12 P.M.

Hudson is currently serving as a spokeswoman for Weight Watchers, and she releases the video in an effort to motivate others to embark on a healthy diet. "I know so many people out there who are on the same path. Anything I can do to help them along, that motivates me, and inspires me," she said.

The #61 issue of "Green Lantern" comic book hitting book stores this week is provided with a preview to "Green Lantern" movie. It has a picture that gives a clearer look at Tomar-Re which could be seen briefly in the first trailer. The scan version has now hit the web.

Tomar-Re is a scientist from the planet Xudar before joining Green Lantern. In the accompanying text to the image, DC writer and Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns explains, "His nature to examine everything has led the Guardians of the Universe to appoint him the archivist and protector of the sacred Book of Oa."

Rap mogul Master P is planning a tribute concert to Teena Marie during the week of the Grammy Awards. The 54 year old, born Mary Christine Brockert, passed away in her sleep at her home in Pasadena, California on Sunday, December 26, and superfan Master P is keen to bring stars together for a remembrance gig in February.

No venue or line-up has been announced, but the show will be staged in Los Angeles on February 11. It will also support Michelle Obama's fight in childhood obesity. "This is not about donating money, it's about bringing awareness to help prolong healthy lives and prevent life shortening health issues," a rep said.

Rapper Foxy Brown has apologized to fans for canceling a Christmas Eve concert in Brooklyn, New York, to mourn the loss of "someone special". The star pulled out of the festive show at the last minute leaving fans disappointed.

No explanation was given for Brown's absence, but she has now revealed all about her concert cancellation in an emotional Twitter.com post. She writes, "Grieving the loss of someone special & dear to me. I'd like to personally apologize for the confusion... of the beautiful 'Christmas In Brooklyn' party."

Former "Full House" star Candance Cameron has broken her silence about her battle with bulimia. In her new book "Reshaping It All", the actress reveals she began binging and purging after "Full House" ended its run in 1995, as she coped with the emotional stress of moving from the U.S. to Canada with new husband, hockey player Valeri Bure.

And the 34 year old is finally opening up about her eating disorder after reaching a healthy weight and developing a better relationship with food, which she credits to her husband and their three kids. She tells People.com, "It's a very dangerous cycle that can just start to consume your life and really take over. It wasn't about me trying to lose weight. It was all about emotions."

"Girls Gone Wild" founder Joe Francis and his wife of seven weeks have separated, according to U.S. reports. The filmmaker and producer insists the reports are "false" but friends tell UsMagazine.com that Christina McLarty has moved out of the couple's Los Angeles home.

"Things completely changed in the relationship and it just became painful," a source close to the couple says, "They are not sure if they are going to divorce yet. They're just taking some time apart."

A representative for Eddie Murphy has dismissed gossip the star passed away following a snowboarding accident, the latest in a new round of celebrity death hoaxes. The actor suffered fatal injuries during a Christmas skiing trip in Switzerland, according to the crazy online story, but Murphy's spokesperson has moved swiftly to dismiss the shock speculation.

The rep tells EW.com, "Absolutely false. I just spoke with him." Aretha Franklin, Aaron Carter, Charlie Sheen and Adam Sandler have also been at the center of fictional death reports in the past week. Sandler was also reportedly the victim of a skiing-related accident in Switzerland.

Pregnant Natalie Portman has opened up about the physical and emotional demands of playing a ballet dancer in "Black Swan", revealing she thought she may "die" during the intense training and filming.

The actress spent up to eight hours a day in dance rehearsals to make her portrayal of a ballerina believable - and even dislocated a rib during the shoot. Petite Portman, who also shed 20 pounds (9.1 kilograms) for the role, admits she became so low while making the movie she felt near to death.

Next week, Britney Spears will give the first taste to her new album via its lead single "Hold It Against Me". The news was revealed by Sharon Dastur, program director for New York's Z100, in an interview featured in the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly.

"It's produced by Dr. Luke and Max Martin," Dastur spilled the beans. "And the beat that they give her is really unique compared to other artists - this infectious bass beat beneath the song. Plus, the hook is just amazing. It will be out on January 7."

Oliver Stone is planning to recruit Shia LaBeouf for his other project. After working together in "Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps", the helmer reveals in commentary track for the movie that he and the actor have discussed about the possibility of reteaming for "Pinkville".

According to IGN, Stone says LaBeouf is interested in exploring the subject matter because his father was a helicopter pilot in Vietnam. The site also reports that LaBeouf would portray Hugh Thompson, a US Army helicopter pilot. The role was previously set for Channing Tatum.

Australia is about to get one more endorsement from an American television show. Actress Emmy Rossum has agreed to pay ex-husband, music executive Justin Siegel, $57,000 as part of their divorce settlement. The "Poseidon" star was secretly wed to Siegel for a 18 months before he filed for divorce in September, 2009, citing irreconcilable differences.

According to the divorce judgment, filed on Tuesday, December 28 in Los Angeles County Superior Court, he has also been awarded an $11,200 security deposit, a Mercedes and jewelery. Rossum, who recently split from Counting Crows rocker Adam Duritz, has received the marital house, her jewelery and other personal belongings in the split.

Isabelle Caro, the French model who gave anorexia a face, has died. She was just 28. Caro passed away on November 17 after battling the eating disorder for almost 15 years.

She shocked and stunned the world in 2007 when she posed naked for an anorexia awareness campaign billboard shot by Italian photographer Oliviero Toscani. Caro had just returned from a job in Japan when she died in her native France, according to the Associated Press.

Actor Billy Boyd has married his longterm partner in a romantic post-Christmas ceremony in his native Scotland. Boyd exchanged vows with Ali McKinnon, the mother of his four-year-old son Jack, on Wednesday, December 29 at a church in Glasgow, Scotland.

Among the couple's family and friends at the ceremony were the actor's "Lord of the Rings" co-stars Elijah Wood and Dominic Monaghan, who posed happily for photos with the groom.

Bon Jovi have the most successful world tour this year. Although their latest record "The Circle" did not sell strongly, Jon Bon Jovi and his bandmates managed to rake in a whopping $201.1 million worth of tickets for at least their 80 concerts around the world in a traveling show to promote the album.

Bon Jovi beat 2009's highest-grossing acts U2 and AC/DC. U2 were atop the list last year with $311 million, and AC/DC followed with $227 million. A woman whose family inspired classic movie musical "The Sound of Music" has died. Agathe von Trapp passed away on Tuesday, December 28 at a hospice in Towson, Maryland after suffering congestive heart failure last month. She was 97.

Von Trapp was the oldest daughter of Austrian naval officer Captain Georg Ritter von Trapp, whose seven children were the basis for the singing family in Robert Wise's 1965 movie, starring Julie Andrews. The musical centered around a woman who leaves an Austrian convent to become a governess to the children of a stern naval officer widower.

Outspoken actor Rupert Everett is making quick enemies of Jennifer Aniston and fellow Brit Colin Firth, branding her career choices "tasteless" and his performance in movie musical "Mamma Mia!" "career suicide". In a BBC radio rant, the "My Best Friend's Wedding" star admits he can't understand why the two A-listers still have careers in the film industry after consistent film flops - and he used Aniston's turn in box office bombs "The Switch", "The Bounty Hunter" and "Love Happens" as a prime example.

Closing 2009 by scoring U.S. best-selling album with her "Fearless", Taylor Swift is now going to end this year atop Billboard Hot 200. Her latest effort "Speak Now" holds the first position, which she successfully snatched from Susan Boyle's "The Gift" last week, by adding 276,000 copies. It's her third non-consecutive week atop the chart.

As "Speak Now" is unmoved from its last week's position, "The Gift" also remains steady at the second place with another 240,000 units. Jackie Evancho's "O Holy Night" stands still at the fourth as well, selling another 151,000. Michael Jackson's self-titled album, however, was forced to give up its third position, swapping places with "Glee" Christmas album. The posthumous set drops with 150,000, and the yuletide collection moves up with 160,000.

Michael Jackson's fans and estate are protective of his image, forcing Discovery Channel to cancel the plan to air an upcoming special that re-enacts the late singer's autopsy. John Branca and John McClain who act as Michael's executors have written a letter to the channel's CEO David Zaslav, and they are backed up by more than 9,000 online petitions from fans.

In their letter, the executors said, "Your decision to even schedule this program is in shockingly bad taste, insensitive to Michael's family and appears motivated solely by your blind desire to exploit Michael's death, while cynically attempting to dupe the public into believing this show will have serious medical value."

Jeremy Renner has been announced to portray Hawkeye in "The Avengers", but he could show up as the character earlier in "Thor". A source who has seen an early cut of the May 6, 2011 release tells TheWrap that the bow-and-arrow-carrying hero indeed appears in the film, but refuses to elaborate on the context of his appearance or when the cameo will occur.

Christopher Nolam's sci-fi blockbuster "Inception" has proved to be a serious awards season contender after picking up eight prizes from the Phoenix Film Critics Society. The movie, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, took a number of the organization's top trophies, including best director for Nolan, original screenplay, original score and editing.

The coveted best picture prize went to Colin Firth's royal drama "The King's Speech", while the British star also received an acting award for his part in the film. Natalie Portman was feted for her role in "Black Swan" and other winners included Christian Bale ("The Fighter"), "The Social Network", "Alice in Wonderland" and "Biutiful".

"The Vampire Diaries" is spreading its wing by taking part in Eyecon next year. The event would be the show's first convention in North America and would take place in Atlanta, GA, where the series is filmed, starting March 25 and ending on the 27th.

Kim Kardashian makes sure she enters the music game with bang. Already securing The-Dream as one of her production crew, the "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" beauty is now preparing a music video for her upcoming debut single with none other than rap mogul Kanye West.

They did the filming in a closed set on December 28 in Los Angeles with certified music video director Hype Williams sitting behind the lens, according to TMZ. Kim and Kanye reportedly arrived and left the set separately. She tweeted, "OMG u guys have no idea what I'm doing today! You are gonna DIE!!!!"

As he himself expected, Chris Brown became a trending topic on Twitter and graced the online news for using racial and gay slurs on the microblogging site. The R 'n' B singer was on war of words with former member of B2K, Raz B, who said something about Brown's ex Rihanna.

Jerry Bruckheimer is once again giving a treat to "Pirates of the Caribbean" fans by sharing another photo from "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides". Aboard the Queen Anne's Revenge, Jack Sparrow will embark on a mission to seek the Fountain of Youth as ordered by King George II, joined by his nemesis Blackbeard and his love interest Angelica, who is also Blackbeard's daughter. Jack finds himself on an unexpected adventure in which he doesn't know who to fear more: Blackbeard or the woman from his past.
