A new talk about possible villain for "Star Trek" sequel has surfaced. Badass Digest (via Collider) claims an informant placed close to the production of the upcoming movie tells them that Khan Noonien Singh will not be the villain in the upcoming movie.

The site additionally reports that the story will focus on a "classic" character, like "a character who appeared in season one of the original series, when Gene Roddenberry was in charge." Giving more hints, the source says, "Think along the lines of Harry Mudd or Trelane or Gary Mitchell or the Talosians or the Horta. Actually it's one of those that I named."

French director Jean-Luc Godard has decided against flying to Hollywood to receive his honorary Academy Award. The film icon was invited to accept a lifetime-achievement prize at the Governor's Awards next month but the 79 year old would not confirm his attendance, telling organizers in September he would be there if his schedule permitted.

But the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences President Tom Sherak announced on Monday, October 25 that the "Breathless" director will not come to the event after a "two month long, cordial exchange of correspondence". According to Sherak, Godard thanked Academy officials for the award, which will be delivered to him in Switzerland after the ceremony.

Former "ER" star Alex Kingston is "devastated" after the collapse of her second marriage, according to reports. The British actress and her husband, German journalist Florian Haertel, are believed to have split after struggling to adopt a child.

"The Hills" spin-off "The City" has been canceled, according to its star Whitney Port. "Paranormal Activity" star Micah Sloat initially turned down the chance to return for the film's sequel "Paranormal Activity 2" because he felt sure it would be an awful idea. KISS star Gene Simmons has been admitted to hospital after collapsing at an airport. The rocker is believed to have hit his head after fainting at Los Angeles International Airport on Sunday, October 24. He suffered a cut to his forehead in the fall, reports TMZ.

Simmons was then taken to Centinela Hospital in Inglewood, California, where tests revealed he was dehydrated. The 61 year old appears to be on the mend - he was released from hospital on Monday, October 25.

The filming of fourth "The Celebrity Apprentice" resumes with an outdoor task involving lifting and pulling. Three celebrities who were spotted near NYC's Flatiron Buildings on Monday, October 25, teaming up to complete the heavy works are La Toya Jackson, Marlee Matlin and NeNe Leakes.

With people looking at them, Jackson and Matlin together tried to manhandle a large suitcase while Leakes walked a step behind them with a box in her hand. Jackson was later seen unloading heavy goods from a transportation truck. Neither the other women nor the men's team were seen at the same scene.

Animal lover Pamela Anderson has adopted two new dogs from a shelter in New Orleans, Louisiana. The actress/model didn't hesitate when animal rights group PETA asked her to help them fund a relocation program for cats and dogs abandoned by desperate owners who had lost their livelihoods following the Gulf Coast oil spill earlier this year.

As well as covering the transportation fees and adoption costs for 42 strays, Anderson flew to the region and visited shelters. She left with two dogs, Gina Lollobrigida and Bardot - named after animal rights legend Brigitte Bardot. Said to be more than a biopic, "Never Say Never" is made to "tell the underdog story of where he [Bieber] came from." Following the release of lead single "Oh Santa!", another song from Mariah Carey's upcoming album "Merry Christmas II You" is unearthed. It's called "O Come All Ye Faithful / Hallelujah Chorus" and features Mariah teaming up with her mother Patricia Carey.

One of late Bee Gees star Maurice Gibb's final interviews is to feature on a new DVD documentary about the singing siblings. Gibb conducted the career-encompassing chat shortly before he died in 2003 and his comments will now be part of "In Our Own Time" - a film commemorating The Bee Gees' 50th anniversary.

The film, billed as "a revealing look at the history of The Bee Gees", will be released on November 16. The project also features brand new interviews with Barry Gibb and Robin Gibb and rare live performances, TV and film clips.

Rod Stewart has clear memories of recording his hit song "Sailing" - it's the only track he's ever sung without drinking booze first. The singer has confessed he suffers from nerves when he has to perform live or in the studio, and always has a drink before hitting the stage or laying down vocal tracks.

But he had to record Sailing completely sober because there was no alcohol available at the studio in Alabama - and it went on to become one of his most famous songs. Stewart tells Britain's Live magazine, "It's the only song I ever recorded without a drink inside me. My thing was always to have a little tipple before I sang; even now I'll have a Bacardi and Coke before I go on stage. It just helps."

U2 rocker The Edge has assured fans that frontman Bono has fully recovered from spinal surgery - insisting the singer is in "great shape". A back injury forced the Irish rock star to undergo the procedure last summer, prompting U2 to postpone dates on its U.S. tour.

But now the band is back on the road - and preparing to release a new album as early as 2011. The Edge tells the New York Post, "Bono is back in form. His back injury unfortunately forced us to postpone dates on the U.S. tour, but we are performing again, and he is in great shape."

After helping suicidal man to shun his suicide attempt, T.I. is getting a reward for his good deed. TMZ reported that the L.A. County District Attorney has rejected the drug case stemming from the rapper's arrest with wife Tameka Cottle aka Tiny on September 1 and the decision is reportedly due to legal problems with the case.

According to D.A.'s office spokeswoman Jane Robinson, they are not going forward with the filing of misdemeanor charges because T.I. has already been sentenced to prison for a probation violation following the September arrest. The rapper was sentenced to 11 months behind bar on October 15.

The Scissor Sisters have been forced to cancel a string of upcoming European concert dates due to "funding issues". The band was set to perform nine shows in Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, France, Luxembourg, Switzerland and Italy but the quintet has pulled the plug revealing "it has become impossible to make the tour work financially".

A statement on the band's website released on Monday, October 25 reads, "We're saddened to discover that we are unable to play our scheduled tour dates through Europe. We're genuinely sorry about this frustrating situation. We'll try to make it up to you and return to these beautiful cities soon."

Christina Aguilera's divorce has got off to a rocky start - her lawyer has filed a motion to disqualify the assigned judge from hearing the case. The singer announced her separation from Jordan Bratman earlier this month and subsequently filed divorce papers in a bid to officially end the nearly five-year union.

Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Elia Weinbach was assigned to the case. However, Aguilera's lawyer Laura Wasser has filed legal documents disqualifying Weinbach from hearing the proceedings, reports TMZ.com.

Martin Scorsese and Nicholas Pileggi are revisiting their gangster classic "Goodfellas" for a prequel TV series about the early life of mobster Henry Hill. Rumors circulated in September that a TV version of the hit 1990 movie is in the works following the success of new U.S. crime drama "Boardwalk Empire", which launched earlier this year with a Scorsese-directed episode.

Now Pileggi - who wrote Wiseguy, the book on which Goodfellas is based, and worked on the film's screenplay with Scorsese - has confirmed he and the director are planning a TV series linked to the movie. The storyline is likely to focus on the early life of Hill, who was played by Ray Liotta in the film, as many of the characters in "Goodfellas" are dead by the end of the movie.

Actor Chris Klein has returned to work following a two-month rehab stint stemming from an alcohol-related arrest in June to film a cameo role on U.S. TV series "The Good Guys". The "American Pie" star was taken into custody and charged with two misdemeanors after failing a sobriety test when his car was pulled over by cops on an Los Angeles freeway.

Klein, who spent four days behind bars, pleaded no content to the DUI counts and was released on bail after agreeing to enroll in an alcohol education program. He checked himself into Utah's Cirque Lodge rehab facility for two months of treatment in a bid to kick his alcohol issues.

AMC is investing huge on its new zombie series "The Walking Dead" which is going to premiere right on Halloween. Few days before the debut, the cable network will be staging a zombie invasion in 26 major cities around the world, particularly at each city's landmarks.

Hundreds of people whom the network has hired will don zombie make up and gather around at places such as NYC's Brooklyn Bridge, London's Big Ben, Madrid's Prado Museum, Athens' Acropolis and Istanbul's Bosphorus Bridge. The so-called "attacks" would begin in Hong Kong and Taipei at dawn on Tuesday, October 26 and then spread across the globe within 24 hours.

"Glee" is confirmed to release another Christmas album this year. According to Entertainment Weekly, twelve revamped songs of classic holiday tunes are lined up, and November 16 will be the day the compilation rolls out for purchase across the country.

And he is adamant the failure to throw out the rule means the U.S. leader is refusing to tackle homophobic bullying. In a post on his official blog, Cumming writes, "We keep hearing that Obama is an ally, that Don't Ask, Don't Tell will end under his watch, but what do we actually get? Diddly squat (nothing) thus far on a federal level."

Lady GaGa has triumphed over Justin Bieber in the battle of YouTube.com - the eccentric singer has become the first artist to score a billion views on the video sharing website. The "Poker Face" hitmaker faced serious competition from Bieber in the last few months as the pair battled to land the coveted title, but GaGa won the race this weekend.

Bieber is expected to follow GaGa to the billion mark next month. GaGa shared the happy news with her fans in a post on her Twitter.com page, writing: "We reached 1 billion views on YouTube little monsters! If we stick together we can do anything. I dub u kings and queens of YouTube! Unite!"

Eva Longoria insisted that she is not the one at fault over October 20 car crash. As Eva is going to be sued by Roman Gasparyan, the other driver in the accident, the "Desperate Housewives" star has now fired back the planned lawsuit.

"According to the police report, the other driver was clearly at fault AND admitted to fault at the scene of the accident. Longoria's eyes were NOT red and bloodshot," Eva's rep confirmed to TMZ. "There is absolutely no truth to this claim, and any indications to the contrary are completely false and untrue."

After eights months of trying to conceive, the couple consulted doctors and embarked on a series of painful in vitro fertilisation (IVF) treatments, but the 32-year-old star has still failed to fall pregnant. In her new book, "You Only Live Once", she writes, "After marrying Alex I had only one thing on my mind - having another baby. I'd love to have another four, in fact."

Australian actor Matthew Newton has signed a consent order which will ban him from contacting his former fiancee, "Transformers" star Rachael Taylor. Taylor broke off the engagement over the summer and her lawyers later went to court in Sydney to apply for an apprehended violence order (AVO) against the star.

The papers revealed Taylor had accused Newton of several "unprovoked violent assaults" during a vacation in Europe in August. A court granted a temporary order to keep the pair apart last month and now magistrates in Sydney have officially sanctioned the AVO, which will see Newton jailed for up to two years if he breaches the terms of the agreement.

A series of rallies have been held in New Zealand to protest against movie bosses' plans to find a new location for upcoming blockbuster "The Hobbit". Director Peter Jackson was due to film the "Lord of the Rings" prequel in the country next year, but producers are currently scouting for new locations after a dispute with local actors' unions.

Production on the movie was thrown into jeopardy when union bosses in New Zealand instigated a boycott of "The Hobbit" after failing to agree work terms for local performers. The ban has since been lifted, but the dispute soured relations with movie bosses who remain determined to move the shoot away from New Zealand.

Just after it finds a main female cast, "Gravity" is in threat of losing its actor Robert Downey Jr.. Deadline Hollywood learns that scheduling problems have made him doubtful that he could do the Alfonso Cuaron-directed movie.

The actor was supposed to film "Gravity" before he shoots "Sherlock Holmes 2". But a long casting process for the lead actress has delayed the production and now Downey has already filmed "Sherlock Holmes" sequel.

Embattled American football star Brett Favre has reportedly faced officials at the National Football League and admitted leaving raunchy voicemails for a female reporter, but denied sending her any explicit photos.

The married Minnesota Vikings player hit headlines earlier this month over allegations he texted pictures of his penis to former New York Jets employee Jenn Sterger when he was the team's quarterback in 2008. National Football League officials have been investigating the allegations and if Favre is found to have violated player conduct policies, he could face suspension and fines.

"Army Wives" star Sally Pressman is one step closer to walking down the aisle. The 29-year-old beauty is engaged to longtime boyfriend David Rogers, an actor of hit TV show "Cougar Town". A rep for Sally has confirmed about the engagement to People.

According to the site, David popped the question when he and Sally were working out at Tracy Anderson's Studio in Los Angeles on Tuesday, October 19. "David got down on one knee. After an immediate 'yes', they embraced in a loving (and sweaty) hug," the rep shared.

Nicki Minaj's official music video directed by Rich Lee for her duet track with will.i.am, "Check It Out", has made its way out. Along with the Black Eyed Peas member, she performs the track in a futuristic Korean TV show in front of a small audience.

Despite the Korean theme, Minaj said they're "doing almost like an ode to Japanese culture and Japanese anime." She added, "I'm obviously a big fan and I've joined forces with like the only boy that I know that's also able to capture that culture."

ABC is giving its much-hyped series "No Ordinary Family" a vote of confidence, ordering a full 22-episode season. The Alphabet is also picking up a full season for its little known half-hour comedy "Better With You" which, despite its lack of promotion, is doing moderately well on Wednesdays, 8.30/7.30c.

New ABC chief Paul Lee announced the pick-ups on late Monday, October 25 and confirmed at the same time the full-season pick-up for "Brothers & Sisters" as well as 5 additional episodes for "Detroit 1-8-7". Lee however said nothing about "The Whole Truth" which is only averaging 5.3 million viewers on Wednesdays, 10/9c.
