Based on the legendary novel of the same title by pulp writer Jim Thompson, the film follows Affleck's Lou Ford, a West Texas deputy sheriff who spirals downward. Starting as a bored small-town cop, he slowly turns into a ruthless, sociopathic murderer trying to cement his innocence when the evidence looks suspicious.

Megan Fox has been bewildered by her second engagement with long-term boyfriend Brian Austin Green story. Columbia Pictures has unveiled the first official one-sheet for "The Social Network". Debuted via the movie's official site which has just been launched too, the poster captures the face of one of the lead actors, Jesse Eisenberg, with words which read "You don't get to 500 million friends without making a few enemies" featured on top of it.

Based on Ben Mezrich's novel "The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook, a Tale of Sex, Money, Genius and Betrayal", the film focuses on the drama behind the Harvard dorm room creation of popular social networking site Facebook by Mark Zuckerberg and his roommates. Eisenberg takes the role of Zuckerberg.

P. Diddy has been forced to change the name of his new rap supergroup after discovering another act was already performing under the moniker Supreme Team. The rap mogul has recruited Busta Rhymes, Rick Ross, Red Cafe and DJ Khaled to his new band, taking inspiration for the name from infamous New York drug kingpin Kenneth "Supreme" McGriff.

But Diddy has had a change of heart over what to call the group after finding out the Supreme Team was already in use. In a post on his Twitter page, he writes, "Due to another group owning the name supreme team in efforts not to hurt their business we have decided to change our name to the #DREAMTEAM."

"Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam" lets fans know about its new characters. Matthew 'Mdot' Finley, Chloe Bridges and Frankie Jonas are the center of a new featurette from Disney Channel which promotes the TV movie with a series of behind-the-scene looks.

Mdot, who plays Luke is described by his co-stars as the smooth dancer. "Matthew is such a hardworker. He's so focused and determined to get his music and artistry out there," Alyson Stoner testified. Luke is significant in the sequel to "Camp Rock" because he brings the R 'n' B element to the musical movie.

Rocker Joel Madden has laughed off reports he's set to wed fiancee Nicole Richie in June, insisting they "haven't even started" to plan their nuptials. The Good Charlotte star announced in February that he had proposed in secret in 2009, and recent reports suggested the couple will tie the knot in Santa Barbara, California this autumn.

Elton John showed his support for the people of Israel during a performance in Tel Aviv on Thursday, June 17 when he took aim at artists who had pulled shows in the country in protest of the government's alleged treatment of Palestinians. The executors of Michael Jackson's estate have agreed to reimburse Los Angeles authorities for the cost of the late superstar's elaborate memorial service by sharing the $1.3 million expenses with concert promoters AEG. The "Thriller" hitmaker was laid to rest in a private family ceremony at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in the Hollywood Hills in July 2009 before the big concert tribute at the Staples Center.

A furore broke out over the expense of Jackson's funeral and memorial, which was broadcast across the globe, with local councilmen calling for the singer's family and event organizers AEG to foot the bill for all the extra security and personnel needed to ensure the public's safety, instead of Los Angeles tax payers.

Sandra Bullock's estranged husband Jesse James has lost his court bid to ban his ex-wife, porn star Janine Lindemulder, from visiting their six-year-old daughter amid allegations she is abusing drugs. James and Bullock were granted full guardianship of little Sunny in 2009 after Lindemulder was sentenced to six months in jail for tax evasion.

She was released earlier this year and relaunched her child custody battle after James was exposed as a love cheat in March. The fight over Sunny turned nasty in June when James accused his former partner of driving under the influence of drugs with their little girl in the car and refused to hand over the child for one of Lindemulder's court-ordered visits.

Two music videos have been premiered in companion to Jessie James' latest single "Boys in the Summer". The clip which was debuted on CMT during its Music Hours Special is aimed to promote the country mix of the song, while the other is to support the pop version.

New trailer for "The American" starring George Clooney has been made available for viewing pleasure. It sees the lead actor showing off his skill in assembling weapon and follows him on his duty as an assassin. In the video, it is also seen that he will be romantically related to a certain woman.

Clooney's Jack is a master craftsman who decides his next assignment will be his last after a job in Sweden ends more harshly than expected for this American abroad. Jack reports to the Italian countryside, where he holes up in a small town and relishes being away from death for a spell. The assignment, as specified by a Belgian woman, Mathilde, is in the offing as a weapon is constructed.

Ryan Seacrest has quietly dated "Dancing with the Stars" alum Julianne Hough for a month, Star magazine reported in its June 28 issue which has been on sale now. However, the magazine claimed the "American Idol" host would always be tight-lipped about his new romance.

John Lennon's handwritten lyrics for The Beatles' song "A Day in the Life" have sold for a staggering $1.2 million (800,000 pound sterling) at an auction in New York. Lennon's scrawled notes were purchased by a private American collector, who bid by phone at the Sotheby's sale on Friday, June 18.

The double-sided sheet of paper features the late star's edits and corrections, written in black felt marker and blue ball point pen, with annotations in red ink. Pre-sale estimates predicted the item would only sell for between $500,000 (333,330 pound sterling) and 800,000 (533,300 pound sterling).

Daniel Radcliffe is desperate to land a role in hit TV show "Glee" so he can show off his newly-acquired singing and dancing skills. The "Harry Potter" star has signed up to appear in a production of "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying" on Broadway in 2011, and he's been busy preparing for the role by taking dance classes and vocal lessons.

Radcliffe admits he dreams of joining the cast of "Glee", but he might need some more practice first. He tells Access Hollywood, "Yes, absolutely (I want a role in Glee)... Of course... it's an amazing show and I (would) obviously be honored to be asked. But, I'm not sure I'm ready for that yet. They've got standards like ('Glee' star) Kristin Chenoweth."

The Parents Television Council (PTC) has proven themselves that they are not in the business for criticisms only. The organization which serves as watchdog for programs unsuitable for children, has praised the Thursday, June 17 final of NBA game between Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics.

PTC took note that although there were some misses in the profanity language bleeping, the program which was aired on ABC took effort in covering most of them. "The most exhausted person after last night's Game Seven of the NBA finals probably wasn't a member of the Lakers or Celtics - it was the person who had control over the bleep button," PTC President Tim Winter said on Friday morning.

Jesse James is packing up and moving to Austin, Texas, where his estranged wife Sandra Bullock owns a home. James is set to head to Texas by the end of June, his attorney John Schilling told People after an Orange County, California court hearing in the custody dispute between James and ex-wife Janine Lindemulder over their daughter Sunny, on Friday, June 18.

"He intends to move at the end of the month, he's got a need to be there," Schilling revealed. When asked if James moves in to be closer to Bullock, the attorney simply responded, "I can't comment on that," adding that James, who has a custom car business called Austin Speed Shop in Austin, has business matters in the town.

TV producers of "The X Factor" want to make sure that nothing 'bad' is caught on camera. Some "ordinary-looking" fans who have been queuing at the Birmingham LG Arena in hope that they'll get good seats for the show were left disappointed when the organizers picked the good looking ones to sit behind the judges during the show.

"It's an absolute joke! I went yesterday, they pick attractive people to sit at the front, regardless of priority (ticketing) or where they are in the queue," a fan wrote in an online forum. "I was so gutted when I was in my seat, I had tears in my eyes." Another wrote, "They go through the queue and pick the good-looking ones."

A music video in support of Debby Ryan's single "A Wish Comes True Everyday" has arrived. It features the Disney songstress as she lays the track in studio and dance in the bedroom as well as school hallway.

"A Wish Comes True" is recorded for Debby's upcoming TV movie "16 Wishes". Some footage from the small screen film, including the one when a mysterious box of magical birthday candles is delivered to her, is included in the music video.

After visiting Rome, Italy on Thursday, June 17, Kristen Stewart stepped her feet on Berlin, Germany on the next day in a bid to promote her forthcoming film "The Twilight Saga's Eclipse". In one of the stops for the film world tour, she was still accompanied by co-star Taylor Lautner.

John Mayer bounced back from his recent illness to play a late-night surprise show in New York City in the early hours of Thursday, June 17 morning. The rocker scrapped his European tour last month after he fell sick with a mystery ailment but he proved he is fit and well again with the impromptu gig in Manhattan.

Mayer took to his Twitter.com page late on Wednesday night and told fans to make their way to the Village Underground venue for an intimate show at 3 A.M. Tickets were sold for just $10. Mayer later thanked the fans who turned out to see him play, writing in a post on Twitter, "Thanks all for coming... XO".

A-list artists, ranging from Grammy-winning superstar Lady GaGa to Canadian teen pop idol Justin Bieber, have joined growing group of protesters against British Petroleum which caused massive oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. GaGa refused to use BP oil for her tour bus, while Bieber will appear in "Larry King Live" special telethon to help the oil spill victims.

The boycott group was initiated by Korn and already have Creed and Backstreet Boys joining them in addition to GaGa. "We need to do our part to let BP know there are consequences for causing something like this. We want to send a message to corporations like BP so that they will take more preventative measures in the future," frontman Jonathan Davis said.

Jay-Z has scrapped plans for a surprise concert in his native New York after city officials voiced concerns about security and refused to grant the rapper permission to perform. The Brooklyn-born hip-hop star planned to pack the streets of midtown Manhattan for a surprise performance atop the marquee of the Ed Sullivan Theater during rush hour on Monday, June 21.

Former Beatle Sir Paul McCartney and rock groups Phish and Audioslave have previously been granted permits to put on concerts at the legendary venue. But officials at the Mayor's Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting have abruptly axed Jay-Z's show, ending weeks of negotiations, after word of the performance leaked on Thursday.

Kate Winslet was saved from an embarrassing banking experience on Thursday, June 17 morning, when a kindly customer stepped in to help the star cash her change after the teller refused to serve her.

The "Titanic" star visited a New York branch of Chase bank with her two children to hand in their loose coins in exchange for dollar bills. But after realizing the Oscar-winner did not hold an account at the branch, the bank clerk refused to process the transaction.

Country music star Randy Owen has confirmed he's been diagnosed with prostate cancer, but insists he's winning his battle with the deadly illness. The Alabama frontman began treatment last month after doctors discovered the cancer during a routine check-up.

Owen underwent an ultrasound procedure in a bid to beat the disease, and he is now said to be recovering well. The star's medic, Dr. Woody Fritz, tells CountryStandardTime.com, "We are happy with the successful outcome of the treatment. Randy is doing great and is just about fully recovered."

Emma Watson threw a dinner party for her "Harry Potter" co-stars during the last week of filming - to mark the end of the franchise and reminisce about their time on-set. Watson, along with Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint, has spent over a decade working on the film adaptations of J.K. Rowling's books and the cast filmed their last scenes for the final movie in London this month.

And Watson ensured they bid farewell to one another in style by throwing a lavish bash at her U.K. home, according to actor James Phelps - who plays Fred Weasley. Jerry Bruckheimer has taken it to his Twitter to inform that the principal photography for "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" has been kicked off on Thursday, June 17 in Hawaii. Along with the announcement, the producer has posted several on-set pics.

One of the photos features director Rob Marshall who arrived on the filming location at the "secluded beach" by jet ski. The other two shots capture the chairs for the crew and cast members, with one of shots revealing the possible logo of the movie.

Kristen Stewart has fueled reports she is to replace Angelina Jolie in a "Wanted (2008)" sequel - insisting she would "definitely" accept the role as long as the movie is as "good" as the original. Stewart admits she is excited by the prospect of stepping into Jolie's role - but only if the script meets her expectations. Lindsay Lohan's attorney Shawn Chapman Holley claimed the 23-year-old star recorded a negative alcohol urine test at L.A.'s County Probation Department at 10 A.M. local time on Monday June 7, just hours after her SCRAM bracelet went off at a 2010 MTV Movie Awards after party. A source with knowledge of the test results told E! Online, "They did a urinalysis through Medtox labs and it was indicated conclusively that there was no alcohol in her system at that time. She was ordered to go right in and today just got report back and it was negative."

The reason why the SCRAM bracelet went off remains unclear. Shawn, however, denied any allegations that Lindsay tampered with the bracelet. Lindsay's mother Dina Lohan, in the meantime, previously suggested that someone spilled a drink on the device.

America Ferrera missed out on a romantic proposal from her fiance Ryan Piers-Williams - the actress has described the magic moment as "more of a conversation". The "Ugly Betty" star confirmed the happy news this week after she was seen sporting a diamond on her ring finger.

Jake Shears is glad the forthcoming Scissor Sisters album has been leaked online - because the response from fans has been "amazing". The band's third studio release, "Night Work", isn't due to go on sale until June 28, but the tracks have already been illegally uploaded onto the Internet.

Sarah Jessica Parker is reportedly looking to move house - she has been spotted viewing a massive $24 million townhouse in New York. One of the men accused of kidnapping Jeremy London has pleaded not guilty to multiple charges including robbery and possession of stolen property. The former "Party of Five" star, 37, claims he was taken hostage by a group of men in California last week, June 10 after they offered to help him change a tire on his car.

London alleges he was held at gunpoint and ordered to drive the men around Palm Springs. He also claims he was forced to "purchase alcohol and use illicit drugs" during his ordeal. Police arrested one man, Brandon Adams, 26, of Palm Springs, in relation to the alleged incident and on Tuesday, June 15 he was charged with kidnapping, robbery, possession of stolen property, vehicle theft and carjacking.

The first official photos from "The Rum Diary" have made their way out via Film Totaal. The stills give a look at Johnny Depp as a freelance journalist named Paul Kemp in the drama. One image shows the lead actor in his complete suit, while the other photo sees him wearing less formal clothes and riding a motorcycle.

The film will center its story on Kemp, a divorced alcoholic and struggling novelist who finds himself at a critical turning point in his life while writing for a run-down newspaper in the Caribbean. He is challenged on many levels as he tries to carve out a more secure niche for himself amidst a group of lost souls all bent on self-destruction.

"Burn Notice" becomes a literal meaning when the production company behind the successful USA Network is sued for explosion. Property manager of Park Square Commercial F1 has filed a lawsuit on Wednesday, June 16 in Florida court to ask for a sum of money to repair the damage caused by a "big explosion" in the show.

Park Square noted that the made-explosion caused property damage such as chips, smoke stain and lingering damage to walls and floors. The property and TVM Prods initially agreed on term that the property in Miami-Dade, Fla. is to be returned in the pre-use condition. Thus, the contract between the two parties has been violated.

Miley Cyrus rocked the Central Park on Friday, June 18 for "Good Morning America" summer concert series. Wearing black jeans, David Bowie T-shirt and leather jacket, she kicked off her set with the title track of her upcoming album "Can't Be Tamed".

"The Sopranos" star Joseph R. Gannascoli was arrested on early Friday, June 18 in Tampa Bay, Florida. The 51-year-old actor had to deal with the authority for suspicion of driving under the influence after police officers pulled him over at 2.24 A.M. local time.

The police officers pulled Gannascoli over after he made a wide turn and proceeded to drive on the lane marker. And as they could smell alcohol on Gannascoli's breath and revealed that the actor's eyes were bloodshot, watery, and his speech was slurred, they issued a field sobriety test.

A brand new single from Selena Gomez which has been hinted since earlier this month has finally made its way out for listening pleasure. It's titled "Round and Round" and offers music lovers fun, catchy hook which allows them to really go round and round on the dance floor.

On June 20, two days after the song was debuted, the music video which was filmed in Budapest will be premiered on Disney Channel. In the meantime, fans can enjoy another sneak peek to the upcoming video, featuring the "Wizards of Waverly Place" actress sporting short blonde wig and riding on a scooter around the capital city of Hungaria.
