Carlos Santana Taps Top-Notch Musicians for Classic Rock Album

Rapper Nas, Joe Cocker, Chris Cornell and The Doors' keyboard player Ray Manzarek have teamed up with guitar great Carlos Santana for his new album of classic rock anthems.

Nas performs AC/DC's "Back in Black" with Santana, while Cocker tackles Jimi Hendrix's "Little Wing" and Soundgarden frontman Cornell provides vocals on a rendition of Led Zeppelin's "Whole Lotta Love". Manzarek joins Santana for a new take on The Doors' "Riders on the Storm", and the guitarist insists the updated version of the song is "really far out and psychedelic".

Nick Jonas Signs Up to Play Marius on West End Stage

Nick Jonas has signed up to appear on the West End stage for a three-week run in June, according to a revered London theater producer. The Jonas Brothers singer is already a Broadway stalwart, having performed in a range of productions on the New York stage as a child before embarking on a pop career with his siblings.

He previously appeared in "Les Miserables" in 2003, and is now set to return to the musical to play Marius in the British capital. Jonas will appear at the British capital's Queen's Theater from June 21 for a three week run, according to theater impresario Sir Cameron Mackintosh.

Mindy McCready's Gag Order Request Against Mother Denied by Judge

A judge has refused to grant Mindy McCready's request for a court order to prevent her mother talking to the press. The star, who has a history of alcohol and drug abuse, was reportedly found unconscious at her mum's home in Fort Myers, Florida on Tuesday morning, May 25.

Her mother, Gayle Inge, called for help, suggesting the singer had attempted to commit suicide. The singer's spokesman, Brent Young, has since played down the incident, revealing McCready simply experienced a bad reaction to the pain pills she had been prescribed after breaking her toe on Sunday, May 23.

British actor Dominic Cooper is putting off moving out of the home he shares with best pal James Corden, because he'll miss the funnyman when he lives on his own. The "Mamma Mia!" star has spent several years cohabiting with Corden, since the pair became close after landing roles in the original production of Alan Bennett's hit play "The History Boys" in 2004.

Cooper, who has reportedly split from girlfriend Amanda Seyfried, has now purchased his own house on the same street as Corden's pad in London. But he has so far refused to move into his new home, fearing he'll be too lonely without his friend.

In recent months, Michael has been calling for Lindsay to be sent to rehab to overcome an alleged painkiller addiction and he has been demanding a meeting with Dina to discuss their troubled family situation. The pair has now met up, along with their attorneys, just days after their eldest daughter was confined to California and ordered to wear an alcohol-monitoring ankle bracelet in a probation hearing on Monday, May 24, stemming from a 2007 arrest.

"Scream 4" has cast a young star to play one of the major characters. Entertainment Weekly reports that Emma Roberts has signed on to portray Jill, one of the film's primary heroines. Her role is said to be similar to the one belongs to Neve Campbell in the previous "Scream" flicks.

It's the perfect opportunity for me to do something completely different than I've ever done before," Roberts says on her involvement in the upcoming project. Leonardo DiCaprio Saving Tigers in Asia

Actor Leonardo DiCaprio has launched an organization to help protect endangered tigers. The "Titanic" star has joined forces with the World Wildlife Fund to create Save Tigers Now, with the aim of raising $20 million for the cause.

DiCaprio, who is currently in Asia learning about the declining number of the species, also hopes to double the population of the big cats by 2022. He says, "Tigers are endangered and critical to some of the world's most important ecosystems. Key conservation efforts can save the tiger species from extinction, protect some of the planet's last wild habitats and help sustain the local communities surrounding them."

Now, Shock Till You Drop (SYTD) has got its hand on the first look at the character played by Sienna Guillory through pictures of new footage shown during a presentation attended by director Paul W.S. Anderson.

"[The image is] from a conference thing that Anderson did (he's in the chair on the stage) showing new footage (I believe in Japan)," SYTD reader DJBlack claims as quoted by the site. "The woman on the screen is Sienna [Guillory] as JILL (as the "Birdlady"...notice the scarab control device on her chest!!)."

'The Hobbit' Hasn't Got Green Light

"The Hobbit" will not be filmed any time soon. In contrary to previous reports which mention that the movie will commence production in November, Guillermo del Toro has just stated at a press conference for his latest production "Splice" that the upcoming adventure movie has not got a green light.

"It's not greenlit," helmer of "The Hobbit" admits. "That's categorical... We've been caught in a very tangled negotiation... There cannot be any start dates until the MGM situation gets resolved. They do hold a considerable portion of the rights."

Lil Wayne Premieres 'Da Da Da' Music Video

The first of four videos that Lil Wayne is going to release this weekend has been premiered. Picked as the leader is "Da Da Da" which features Hip-Hop group iMayday!. It sees the rapper going up the roof and drawing attention from the street for his impromptu performance.

Directed by David Rousseau, the music video was shot in February at the Marlin Hotel in Miami during a filming marathon for a dozen of videos before Weezy went to jail for a weapon-possession charge. "...the point is to keep Wayne [visible] on TV and everything for whatever time he's in. There was a plan in action," Rousseau who foresees all the four videos said.

"Ghost Whisperer" is officially dead. Post canceled by CBS following a streak of mild rating, the show starring Jennifer Love Hewitt was said to be considered by ABC. However, the latest news revealed that even the Alphabet is not interested to keep the show in business.

"After five wonderful seasons and over 100 episodes, we are disappointed to announce 'Ghost Whisperer' will not be returning for a sixth season," executive producers Kim Moses and Ian Sander said in a statement Thursday, May 27. A new single of Vampire Weekend which is entitled "Jonathan Low" has been made available for listening pleasure via Consequence of Sound. The song is included in "The Twilight Saga's Eclipse" soundtrack album which will hit U.S. stores on June 8.

"Jonathan Low", which was recorded by Ezra Koenig and his bandmates in the end of 2009, is an elaborately orchestrated song with a surprisingly dominant 12-string guitar. The band describes the track "as a curve ball of sorts, a stark contrast from some of its other more recent material."

Sting Confirms Broadway Return

Rocker Sting is returning to Broadway, he's working on a musical for the New York stage. The former The Police's frontman, 58, has confirmed rumors he's teamed up with Tony Award-winning songwriter Brian Yorkie to pen his first Broadway project, but admits the final product is still a while away because they've yet to settle on one idea.

He tells People magazine, "We're in the very early stages of thinking about what a show could be like. I'm working with Brian Yorkie." Sting is no stranger to the Broadway stage, he starred in a production of "The Threepenny Opera" in the late 1980s.

Rick Ross debuts a relatively short music video for "Money Maker", a track which was included in his "Albert Anastasia" EP. Like most of his other videos, the rapper takes viewers for a ride around the town, this time exploring Barbados' landscape.

The EP will be released next week as the precursor of Ross' fourth studio album "Teflon Don". "Anastasia" is named after an Italian mafia who lived as a barber and died on a barber chair. He was assigned as the barber in the Death House by Warden Lewis Lawes, giving 46 men and one woman their final hair cuts. But he ironically died while having his hair cut when two men shot him repeatedly.

Simon Monjack Laid to Rest Next to Brittany Murphy

Husband of late Brittany Murphy, Simon Monjack, has been laid to rest next to the actress at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in the Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles on Thursday, May 27. Monjack was eulogized in the Chapel of the Hills, the same memorial chapel where Murphy was also honored for the last time in December 2009.

During the funeral, around eighty friends and family members gathered for a private orthodox Jewish service. Family spokesman Roger Neal described the memorial, which was presided over by Rabbi David Baron, as "celebratory and healing." Neal said, "It was Simon's wish to be laid to rest next to her."

It has been previously reported that Lindsay Lohan will play the major character in "Inferno". Now, several promo pictures from the movie have come out, revealing how the actress will be seen when playing porn star Linda Lovelace.

In an image which uses a plain yellow background, Lohan is seen stripping down to her underwear while lying on the ground. The other shot, meanwhile, captures her sitting on a bed with several men, whose faces are unseen, standing behind her. The 23-year-old star sports the same curly hair in both photos.

Simon Cowell's fiancee is set to tell all about the music mogul and their romance in a new autobiography, according to a U.K. report. Mezhgan Hussainy is putting pen to paper to write her life story, which will detail her childhood in Afghanistan as well as her family's escape from the country.

The 36 year old will also tell of her experiences as a make-up artist on "American Idol", where she met future husband Cowell. And reports suggest Hussainy is prepared to divulge plenty of personal information about the notoriously private businessman.

Stephen Gately Leaves Husband Less Than $2 Million

Late Boyzone singer Stephen Gately's husband is to receive almost $1.5 million from the star's estate, according to reports. The 33 year old was found dead in October at the home he shared with partner Andrew Cowles in Majorca, Spain.

Gately did not leave a will, but the details of his wealth have now been revealed - the Irish singer had amassed a $4.9 million fortune, according to the U.K.'s Probate Registry. The star owed $3 million in debts and taxes, leaving just under $2.3 million. Cowles will reportedly be handed $675,000 in cash, as well as half of the rest of Gately's estate - which amounts to $779,865.

British Series 'Skins' Coming to Wider Screen

A British teen drama which helped launch the careers of Nicholas Hoult and Dev Patel is set to be transformed for the big screen. Patel landed his role in Oscar-winning film "Slumdog Millionaire" after director Danny Boyle's daughter pointed out his performance in "Skins", a series focusing on the debauched lives of a group of students in Bristol, England.

Hoult went on to land movie roles in "A Single Man" and "Clash of the Titans" following his stint in the racy drama. Now "Skins" bosses are hoping to copy their former employees' success at the box office with a full-length feature film next year.

Gene Simmons No Longer Facing Assault Case

Prosecutors in Los Angeles have dropped an assault case against KISS star Gene Simmons citing lack of evidence, after a couple alleged the rocker attacked them on a shopping trip last year.

Nathan Marlowe and his wife Cynthia Manzo claim Simmons assaulted them and took their video camera after he spotted them filming him at L.A. mall The Grove in December. The couple subsequently filed for a restraining order against the rocker, but that request was thrown out by a judge, and they are currently pursuing a civil claim through the courts, suing the bass player for assault, battery and infliction of emotional distress.

Oprah Winfrey has scrapped her Angel Network charity as she prepares to step down as America's most powerful TV talk show host next year. The media mogul announced last year that she is quitting her hit "The Oprah Winfrey Show" in 2011 to set up her own cable network, after 25 years at the top of the U.S. daytime ratings.

And Winfrey has begun to cut ties with the show already - the charitable fund which she set up during an episode in 1997 has been closed down. The Angel Network was founded to help organizations across the world, and has donated $80 million in 13 years, including helping to build 55 schools in 12 countries and helping families in New Orleans, Louisiana to rebuild their lives after Hurricane Katrina.

Aiken Standard, which provided photo of 50 appearing in a good health, reported that the artist had a lunch at the Old Edgefield Grill accompanied by his aunt Gladys Simpkins. Mary Turner, front of the house manager at the Grill, shared that 50 ordered a cheeseburger all the way and french fries for lunch.

20th Century Fox has begun filling the empty slots in "X-Men: First Class". The studio has announced on Thursday, May 27 that James McAvoy has signed on to take one of the lead roles in the film, playing young Charles Xavier, aka Professor X.

Bald-headed, wheelchair-bound telepath Xavier was played by Patrick Stewart in the original "X-Men" trilogy. It has not been explained whether or not McAvoy will sport a follicle-free pate to portray the character. Beside the 31-year-old actor, no one has been announced as the cast for the upcoming film.

Music executives are extra fast in signing this year's champion and runner up of "American Idol" for a recording deal. Billboard, in its exclusive story, said that both Lee DeWyze and Crystal Bowersox have secured a recording contract less than 24 hours since the coronation took place on Wednesday, May 26.

DeWyze, the winner, is signed to 19 Recordings Limited and RCA Records, joining DAUGHTRY and Adam Lambert. His first single would be U2's "Beautiful Day" which he sung during the Tuesday final performance night.

Gary Coleman in Critical Condition After Emergency Surgery

Gary Coleman has been hospitalized in Provo, Utah hospital and he is now in critical condition after undergoing emergency surgery, CNN reports. "I can confirm Mr. Coleman is a patient here at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center. He's listed in critical condition," hospital spokeswoman Janet Frank confirms the report.

Janet refuses to further explain what Gary is treated for, saying "We are not confirming what department he's in or any further details." However, the 42-year-old actor's brother-in-law tells TMZ that Gary was admitted to hospital on Wednesday, May 26 at around 12:50 P.M. after suffering a head injury during a fall.

Alicia Keys will add two new roles in her life, to be a wife and a mother. A rep for the 29-year-old singer and her producer boyfriend Swizz Beatz has confirmed to People that the couple is engaged and expecting their first child together.

Keys and Beatz "are expecting a baby and are engaged to be married in a private ceremony later this year," the rep revealed. The announcement came after the musicians attended Black Ball in London, which benefits Keys' Keep a Child Alive charity, on Thursday night, May 27.
