January 15, 2010 02:43:25 GMT

The only way to gain fame through "American Idol" is either to be super talented or to be eccentric. When the show visited Atlanta for season 9's audition, producers found General Larry Platt who impressed the judge with his self-penned song "Pants on the Ground" and a dance that a 62-year-old would not typically do.

The man is now going to make his first major TV interview. ABC's "The View" will have him performing the song and sitting down between the ladies to talk about himself on Monday, January 18 at 11 A.M. "Idol" judge Simon Cowell said that he had a feeling that "Pants" would be a hit.
