Exclusive Interview: The All-American Rejects on New LP and Side Project

There was not a time when a punk rock act had not had its affair on the music industry and one to regard for the existence in the 2000s era would be The All-American Rejects. Emerging from Oklahoma, the band blew to the scene with their "Swing, Swing". Two studio albums and several awards trophies after, now they have come to their new effort, "When the World Comes Down".

To AceShowbiz, the band's guitarist Mike Kennerty shares about the new album, how thicker in sound this one to the previous two and what their takes are to promote the album. Beside that, Mike also dishes out on what he does when not making music, his new label that he creates with bandmate Tyson Ritter as well as how the band views the Presidential Election in relation to their new record.

Rihanna May Help Nicole Richie Making Solo LP

Nicole Richie will reportedly get help from fellow stars Rihanna and Kelly Osbourne in her way to record a debut solo studio album. "Rihanna and Kelly are coaching Nicole and giving her tips on how to perform," a source told The New York Daily News.

Furthermore, rumors circulating in the media claim that Nicole has covered a Prince's ballad song called "Do Me, Baby" from his 1981 LP "Controversy". The Paris Hilton's co-star in reality TV show "The Simple Life" has also been reported to record a track titled "Me and You", which mainly talks about boyfriend Joel Madden.

Taken to China, 'Karate Kid' Remake Searches for New Mr. Miyagi

Though the remake project of "The Karate Kid", "Untitled Karate Kid Remake", has signed Jaden Smith as the new Daniel LaRusso, the proposed movie is yet to find its own Mr. Miyagi. Actor/producer Will Smith shared the fact with MTV News saying, "We don't have a Mr. Miyagi yet."

Noting that the studio has yet to find the perfect man for the job, Smith continues, explaining that it doesn't mean that they are in the dark with the casting since they already have several names for consideration. "There's a couple of people that we're really intrigued by, but I don't want to say any names because I'll be in trouble," so the "Seven Pounds" actor claimed.

Preview of 'Smallville' 8.11: Legion

Another preview to "Smallville" 8.11 which is titled "Legion" has been made available by The CW. A considerably longer in length, the preview shows more on the new heroes that will take the series to the next level. "Legion" is the reference to the name of the superheroes from the 31st century.

Three superheroes from the future travel to the past and join Clark in hopes that together they can defeat Brainiac, who has taken over Chloe's body. More about Clark finding his fate to be a hero, and him meeting Lana once again are exposed in this episode which will hit the screen on January 15.

'Magneto' Movie Depends on 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine' Success

Though updated reports earlier claimed that "Magneto" is still in the work, director David S. Goyer revealed the contrary. Talking to Superhero Hype! on Thursday, December 11, the filmmaker fessed up that the spin-off of the "X-Men" series has been put on hold as for the moment since the studio want to firstly see how "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" does.

Hinting that the script has been finished, the co-writer of "Batman Begins" said of the matter, "I think they like the script and they're just waiting to see what happens with 'Wolverine'." He further explained, "I don't think they would consider moving forward until the movie comes out."

Taboo and will.i.am, Stacy Ferguson's bandmates of the Black Eyed Peas, give some wedding tips for the female singer who reportedly is going to marry her actor boyfriend Josh Duhamel in the near future. Both music moguls, however, insist they know nothing about details of the couple's wedding as they've been keeping them top secret.

"I told her to embrace the day of [the wedding]," Taboo exclusively told Hollyscoop at the Conga Room reopening party in Los Angeles when asked what tip he had for bride-wannabe Fergie. "Don't let it pass. Embrace the day, enjoy the day, and take it as it comes, appreciate it as it comes."

Heather Locklear Eyes Recurring Guest Role in 'Brothers and Sisters'

Once famed for her role as Amanda Woodward in '90s soap opera "Melrose Place", Heather Locklear has been rumored to be trying to make her way back to the small screen with "Brothers & Sisters". Star Magazine exclusively reported that the 47-year-old actress has been lobbying the producers of ABC's popular drama series to have a recurring guest role on the show.

Beside pitching herself to the producers, the former "Spin City" actress has allegedly come to the series' star, Sally Field, to make it happens. On Locklear's determination to get the part, a source told Star, "Heather is a huge fan of the show but also believes that getting back to work will keep her clean and give her a new lease on life. She's on her best behavior when she's on a show."

Preview of 'Supernatural' 4.11: Family Remains

A rather short preview of the new episode of "Supernatural" has been released. Going slightly more than 10 seconds, the footage gives a horrific look on how Dean is strangled with a hanging noose and displays the caption of "We're Sorry, to leave you".

The show will return next year on January 15 with the episode titled "Family Remains". In the episode, Sam and Dean investigate a farm house that seems to be haunted by a woman in the walls. Two guest starring characters are going to be introduced, one is a clean-cut FBI agent that will help the boys in investigating the murders in the small town but turns sinister later on and the other is an attractive woman named Cara Roberts who is functioning both as a doctor on duty and a wild woman who loves sex and booze.

'American Idol' Retracts 'Idol Gives Back', Introduces New Format

The ongoing recession has forced "Idol Gives Back", a charity program conducted regularly by talent show "American Idol", to be canceled this season. The reason is clear, the producers feel that asking people to donate money for the good cause when the economical state is unstable and unemployment rises, is simply not working.

"Idol Gives Back" which had been conducted two years in a row, involved celebrities including singers like Mariah Carey, the show's alumni like Kelly Clarkson, actors like Brad Pitt to prominent figures such as Barack Obama. It had raised over 130 million dollars on the show's sixth and seventh season, with the money going to various charity organizations. No announcement yet on how long the charity program will take a hiatus, but rumor has it, it will return in the ninth season with the program set bi-annually.

Pete Wentz Defends Decision Not to Sell Son's Pics to Mags

Contrary to the mounting speculation, claiming Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson couldn't find any magazines that want to buy the rights to publish the first pics of their son Bronx Mowgli Wentz, the new parents claim they have no intention to sell the pics of their infant, suggesting privacy as the reason. In a post on his official blog, Pete defends his and Ashlee's decision to do so.

Under the heading of "ring, ring, its the truth calling ...", Pete wrote Thursday, December 11 he and Ashlee won't sell Bronx's pics for "mounds and mounds of money." Of that he explained, "We understand that like other celebrities have said, 'there is a bounty on our heads' for these pictures. There is a danger when there are cameras being held over walls and into our backyard. We are followed day and night and that was fine when it was us but we are going to do our best to shelter Bronx from that as much as possible."

There's a new creature in town that is unlike any other. Nobody knows what this creature is, I'm not sure if it will be entirely explained in the show - it's not a werewolf."

Hugh Jackman, 81st Academy Awards Official Host

It is official, Hugh Jackman has been named 81st Annual Academy Awards' host by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The announcement has been made on Friday, December 12 by producer Laurence Mark and executive producer Bill Condon in a joint statement, "Hugh Jackman is a consummate entertainer and an internationally renowned movie star."

"He also has style, elegance and a sense of occasion," the pair further commented on the positive side of the man who has just been dubbed People magazine's Sexiest Man Alive, stressing, "Hugh is the ideal choice to host a celebration of the year's movies - and to have fun doing it." Of the breaking out from the typical Oscar host with Jackman, Mark reasoned, "We are trying to get away from this late-night talk show rut. It seemed to us that we needed to turn a corner and get somebody who is, imagine that, a movie star."

Summit Entertainment has debuted a new trailer for supernatural thriller "Knowing" exclusively through Apple. Longer than the first one, this freshly-released promotional video focuses more on Nicolas Cage's John Koestler trying to stop the inexplicable and figuring out that the disasters happening are more than a mere coincidence.

The trailer opens with a scene where John tells his son Caleb that they will always be together forever. The scene then shifts to show that John is actually a professor teaching about the theory of randomness. But when his son gets his hands on a piece of paper with cryptic message, he soon discovers that there is a pattern to predicting the future and something unimaginable is lurking in the corner, waiting for its time to go out with a bang.
