New Line Cinema Ditched Freddy vs Jason 2 for Nightmare on Elm Street

Words have been circulating that another "Untitled Nightmare on Elm Street Prequel" will be made. According to Bloody-disgusting.com, New Line Cinema is reportedly putting the horror project into production as "Freddy vs Jason 2" is put on hold indefinitely.

Accordingly, John McNaughton is attached to direct the film, while Robert Shaye will be the producer. Details concerning what the film will be about hasn't been shared. It is only reported that "Nightmare" will possibly start the production after another New Line Cinema's horror "Friday the 13th" finished its production.

Jack Black Outed Details of Year One

Though details about Jack Black's upcoming comedy have been kept tightly under wraps, the comic actor has spilled some of the well-kept details in an interview. According to Worst Previews.com, Black revealed the first details about "Year One" in an interview with Collinder.

In the interview, the 38-year-old funny man exposed that the Harold Ramis' movie is a biblical comedy about the old testament. He then explained about his character stating, "I'm just a dude wondering through biblical times. I'm not a famous character that you would have heard of before. Me and Michael Cera are just sort of wondering through and you get to see all these old stories from the Torah told through agnostic eyes."

Plot Details About Terminator 4 Shared

More details of the latest installment of Terminator film series have been outed. To SCI FI Wire at the time he was promoting the upcoming FOX TV series "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles", James Middleton, an associate producer of "Terminator Salvation" has shared the information about the film.

In the interview at Los Angeles' Golden Apple comic shop, he said that the new trilogy is set following the end of Terminator 3 saying, "It's post-apocalyptic." He then explained, "It's set after the events of 'Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines', where we see the nuclear exchange at the end of the movie, and we show what the world is like after this event, and we show how people try to deal in a post-apocalyptic world."

Expects Three Spocks in Star Trek!

The movie version of the science fiction "Star Trek" reportedly will have three Spocks. Worst Previews.com reported that its star Leonard Nimoy let out the hint on an interview with CBS 2 in Los Angeles.

On the chat, Nimoy revealed that aside from him being Spock, there will be two other Spocks, including Zachary Quinto who play young adult Spock. "I am Spock, and there is another Spock and there is another Spock," he said in the interview. Then he added, "There are a total of three Spocks in the movie and that is all I will say about it."

The Producer of Scary Movie to Star in G.I. Joe

One of the Hollywood's comic brothers, the Wayans, is set to star in the war-themed film, "G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra". According to Variety, Marlon Wayans has signed a deal with Paramount Pictures to play Ripcord, a leader of the military unit.

In the film based on Hasbro's American soldier action figure, Wayans will play alongside Rachel Nichols, Sienna Miller, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje and Said Taghmaoui. In the meantime, Joseph Gordon-Levitt is said to be in negotiations to join the action movie.

A backstage secret may has just been revealed by Just Jared.com when the gossip column obtained a photo of Miley Cyrus with larger figure and different face. The photo allegedly proved that Cyrus was replaced by a body double mid a song in her Atlanta concert.

Cyrus who serves double billing tour as her Disney TV character, Hannah Montana, was performing the song 'We Got the Party (With Us)' with her supporting act, Jonas Brothers, when one of her dancers covered her up with a black sheet and showed her a back door where the 'fake' one appeared on the other side.

There Will Be Blood Named 2007 NSFC Best Picture

Nailing three film critics awards for best picture, the tale about an oil man infected with greed, "There Will Be Blood", was once again hailed as the Best Picture of 2007 by another film critics. On Saturday, January 5, 2008 at Sardi's Restaurant in New York, it was given the top honor by the the National Society of Film Critics.

The Paul Thomas Anderson directed-film outshone Julian Schnabel's "The Diving Bell and the Butterfly" and Joel and Ethan Coen's "No Country for Old Men". Aside from nailing the best picture, it also brought praise for Anderson as the Best Director beating out Schnabel and the Coen brothers who were tied in the runner-up position for the honor.

A massive tour is allegedly mapped out for the pop king to appear in 30 dates at the newly-rebuilt venue with salary of 1 million pounds per night. He is also expected to announce a residency in London as well as whether the rumored report that Prince will appear on stage with him in the tour is true.

The physical release of Radiohead's 'In Rainbows' has performed well in U.K. The album that was dropped in standard CD edition for the first time in U.K. on December 31 entered the Albums chart at #1, becoming the only new entry in the Top 40.

Earlier last week, Radiohead's frontman, Thom Yorke, had said that it would be "crazy" not to release their new album in physical edition. The initial independent release of the album through download with price starting from zero dollars has proven a much-needed publicity that puts it to #1, beating Take That's 'Beautiful World' and Leona Lewis' 'Spirit'.

Juno Honored at 2008 Palm Springs Film Festival

Following the opening of the 19th annual Palm Springs Film Festival on January 4, the teen pregnancy drama "Juno" was honored with Chairman's Vanguard Award in the black tie awards gala for the festival held the following day (Jan 05) at the Palm Springs Convention Center, California. In the gala, the film's director Jason Reitman, writer Diablo Cody and its cast, including Ellen Page and Jason Bateman, was presented with the award by Drew Barrymore. It was given the honor since the PSIFF believes the movie is one of the most innovative films.

Earlier, Festival Chairman Earl Greenburg revealed the reason stating, "After screening Juno, I knew the Festival had to honor this film with the Vanguard Award. Jason Reitman's film is one of the most innovative from this year and we are very excited to recognize him along with the writer Diablo Cody and the cast members with this achievement." Further, he added "Currently we expect cast members Ellen Page, Jason Bateman, Allison Janney and J.K. Simmons to attend the Festival to accept the award along with Reitman and Diablo."

According to reports, Britney made her exit via an underground tunnel to avoid paparazzi photographers who were gathered outside the hospital. Before the re-release of her album, 'Ms. Kelly', hits the shelves, Kelly Rowland pulled a video clip of a track which will appear in the new version. The video is for 'Daylight' which had been leaked late last year.

The song is featuring Travis McCoy from Hip-Hop group Gym Class Heroes and reportedly made as the soundtrack to a French film titled 'Asterix aux Jeux Olympiques'. The clip was therefore premiered on a French TV show called 'Vivement Dimanche' where Kelly appeared as a special guest star.
