Britney Spears to Play Another Film?

Britney Spears is reportedly going to once again try her luck in the silver screen. According to reports, the troubled singer is in talks to play a part in "Memoirs of A Medicated Child" as the girlfriend of main character.

Allegedly, the mother of two will get the role that initially was considered for Lindsay Lohan. Further, on the possibility of the "Gimme More" singer being one of the cast, the CEO of 2 Guys and A Dream Films, Tommy Parker, has shared his insight to Access Hollywood. He stated on the occasion, "We are not able to talk about all the negotiations just yet, but I think things are looking pretty good."

Mya to Part Ways With Motown and Go Independent

In a recent interview with StarNewsOnline.com, Mya revealed that her much-delayed album will be out this year and follow it with others. In addition to that she unveiled her intention to leave Motown Records and a consideration to an independent release.

When asked about the new album Mya answered, "I don't like to talk about my album until it's out on the shelves. I'm not giving up too much information, but all I'll say is I'll have a series of albums coming out. The album is already recorded."

The 2007 OFCS Gave Out Lots of Nods for Atonement

Though "There Will Be Blood" and "No Country for Old Men" have proved that they are the film critics' favorites, they will have to be up against another stiff competitor "Atonement" as the latter was nominated for 6 categories by the 2007 Online Film Critics Society as the former two films.

The Joe Wright's picture garnered gongs for Best Picture, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Editing challenging the domination of the two favorite films. Apart from the three nominations, it also received nods for Best Cinematography in which "No Country" was also nominated, and Best Score facing "Blood" among others. Additionally, the drama movie scored nomination for its actress Saoirse Ronan who is nominated for Best Supporting Actress.

Police Called to Britney Spears' House After She Refused to Hand Over Sons to K-Fed's Bodyguards

The ongoing custody drama between Britney Spears and ex-husband Kevin Federline is heating up. Los Angeles police were called to the singer's Beverly Hills home on Thursday night, January 3 after she refused to hand over sons Sean Preston and Jayden James to K-Fed's bodyguards as ordered by the court.

K-Fed's bodyguards, according to several news media, went to pick up Sean and Jayden at Britney's home after her scheduled visitation. She however refused to turn the kids over and so police were called for what was cited as "family custody dispute."

Vanessa Hudgens Addresses Nude Pictures, Finally

It takes at least three months for Vanessa Hudgens to finally break her silence and come clean about her nude pictures which made their way to the Internet early September last year. Is the cover girl for the February 2008 issue of Seventeen Magazine, Vanessa made use the interview session with the publication to address the scandal.

Revealed her feeling, the actress told Seventeen she's "much better now. But truthfully I don't like talking about it. It was something that was meant to be private, and even though it isn't anymore, I'd still like to keep it as private as I can. It was very traumatic, and I am extremely upset it happened. I hope all my fans can learn from my mistake and make smart decisions. But I wouldn't have been able to get through it if it wasn't for my family, friends, and fans, who supported me all along the way."

Prom Night's Trailer Released

The new trailer of "Prom Night", the remake of 1980's horror-thriller film, has been released on-line by Screen Gems. The video piece gave out short previews of the film showing clips in which the obsessed killer hunted Brittany Snow's character and her friends.

The trailer that lasts about 2 minutes begins with scenes showing the Bridgeport High's seniors preparing for the prom and being ordinary teenagers who cannot wait for the party to begin. The day soon becomes night and the prom began. Then, it can be seen that at the moment the prom king and queen are just to be announced, problems began to unveil and terror comes upon them.

I Am Legend Star Cast in Chicago 7?

Following the news that Sacha Baron Cohen is cast in Steven Spielberg's "The Trial of the Chicago 7" a few days back, more Hollywood names who might be up for roles in the drama film has been leaked. According to reports, the Vanity Vair's article about "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" has given out hints that Will Smith, Taye Diggs, Adam Arkin, Kevin Spacey and Philip Seymour Hoffman could be attached to the new project.

In the article posted on VanityFair.com, Jim Windolf, the writer, wrote down, "My glance strays to a side table, where headshots of actors under consideration for his likely next directing project, Chicago 7 - about the conspiracy trial that grew out of protests at the 1968 Democratic convention - lie on the surface. Among them I spy Will Smith, Taye Diggs, Adam Arkin, and Kevin Spacey; Sacha Baron Cohen (as Abbie Hoffman) and Philip Seymour Hoffman (as William Kunstler) are also linked to the project, which has a screenplay by Aaron Sorkin."

Birdman Hit With Copyright and Royalties Lawsuit

Lawsuit has been filed against Birdman over the accusal that the rapper used other artists' materials without licensing fees. The suit put him in debt of several record companies that own the right to the original materials.

Birdman, birth name Bryan Williams, co-founded Cash Money Records with his brother Ronald and therefore is partly responsible for the several samplings the artists under his label, including Lil Wayne and Big Tymers, have used.

Pamela Anderson Is Going Ahead with Her Divorce from Husband Rick Solomon

Initially filed for divorce from her husband number 3 on December 14 and had since then taken back that initial decision just a few hours later when she said in a blog entry on her official Website that she and husband were working things out, Pamela Anderson is now really doing it.

The former "Baywatch" babe is going ahead with her divorce from husband Rick Solomon, with her attorney is said to have filed legal papers on December 28 in L.A. Superior Court, stating for the record that Solomon had been served with divorce papers on December 15. He has 30 days to file a response to her divorce claim.

Inkheart's Release Date Changed

On Thursday, January 3, ComingSoon.net reported that "Inkheart", initially scheduled for release on March 19, is being pushed back by New Line Cinema as the studio is said to look for a better date for the film.

The fantasy-adventure film itself centers on Meggie, a young girl whose father has a secret ability to bring characters from books to life when he reads them aloud. However, because of the talent, her father is kidnapped by a power-hungry villain from a rare children's fable. To save him, Meggie and a disparate group of friends embark on the kind of adventure she has only read about in books.

The Offspring Updated Their New Album Progress

With the deadline drawing nearer, The Offspring updated their fans with the progress of their eight studio album. The punk band's frontman Dexter Holland posted a journal on their official site saying they will be ready to mix in near future.

The post read that the band are "taking a quick break from recording right now to be with our families. I've got two lyrics to do, a couple more to sing, and various musical tweaks and fixes to get done. Then, we'll be ready to mix."

27 Dresses' Premiere Date Pushed Back

The premiere of Katherine Heigl's new romantic comedy has been pushed back from its original date. According to reports, Fox 2000 Pictures has just announced that instead of being released on January 11, "27 Dresses" will be opened on theaters on the first day of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend, January 18, 2008, following an overwhelming response to sneak previews for the film.

Allegedly, by moving the date, the studio can maximize the holiday sales and give the audience another chance to see the sneak previews on January 13. It was also said that the studio wants to offer the romantic comedy movie as an alternative to "Cloverfield" which is also scheduled to be premiered on the same date. Still, by pushing back the opening night, the film now has to be up against another comedy movies, "Mad Money" starring Diane Keaton, Queen Latifah and Katie Holmes, and Mitchell Lichtenstein's "Teeth" apart from facing the Matt Reeves' thriller.

Words are getting stronger that Jay-Z is about to strike a deal with Apple now that he is off the hook from his post as Def Jam's CEO. The rapper and Hip-Hop mogul is reportedly talking to the execs at the computer company to launch a new record label.

Jonas Brothers Scored Fat Deal With Live Nation

Famously tying the established Madonna with a multi million dollar contract late last year, Live Nation surprisingly made the same movement to an up and coming act, Jonas Brothers. The teen all-boys group have inked a huge deal with the concert promoter to play large venues in the next two years.

As part of the deal, the band will hit 140 shows at indoor stadiums and arenas with eight of them have already been arranged to begin the end of this month. The jaunt, that is dubbed 'Look Me in the Eyes' after their single, will commence January 31 in Tucson, Arizona and tickets for the eight shows will go on sale January 12.

Seeing that Will Smith's latest thriller "I Am Legend" has become a box office hit, Warner Bros is looking forward to follow the success of the film with a sequel. According to ShockTillYouDrop.com, an insider claimed that the author Richard Matheson has signed off on the sequel right if the studio want to do a sequel.

Still, it is also said that the sequel is still a possibility since there's nothing official yet. With Matheson signing the deal, it only gives the studio a 'go' in finding the right direction for the second chapter of the story. If the movie sequel is indeed made, it will be the first sequel of the adaptation movie since neither "The Last Man on Earth" (1964) nor "The Omega Man" (1971) was regarded as a sequel.

Chris Brown Receives Lawsuit From Tour Designer

With his 'Exclusive' tour coming out well since its launch in December 2007, Chris Brown owes it partly to his set designer, John Troxel. The R'n'B singer is reportedly in debt of the A-class designer that a lawsuit was finally issued against him.

According to TMZ.com, Troxel filed the "breach of contract" lawsuit on Christmas Eve, requesting the payment for his "extra" work. In the suit, Troxel stated that he indeed received the check for a part of his work but "extra work was required and requested". He claimed that there was an oral agreement but Brown's camp has not kept their promise.

Words are circulating that the sequel of "Superman Returns" may lose its helmer. According to a report from Variety columnist and blogger Anne Thompson, there is a big possibility that Bryan Singer won't return to shoot "Superman: The Man of Steel".
