Jon Bon Jovi Named Habitat for Humanity Ambassador

The newly created Habitat for Humanity Ambassador Program has officially recruited Jon Bon Jovi as its first Founding Ambassador. The honor reportedly is given to the rocker mainly for his numerous efforts for Habit for Humanity International since the year of 2005.

"We couldn't be more pleased that Jon Bon Jovi has agreed to become the first Habitat for Humanity Ambassador," Habitat for Humanity International Chief Executive Officer Jonathan Reckford said. "Jon's shining example of advocating on behalf of people around the world who lack decent housing will help call others to action in this effort to eliminate substandard housing."

Peter Sarsgaard Has His Own "Rendition"

Picking up one more bright talent, "Rendition" has satisfyingly added "Flightplan" star Peter Sarsgaard into its cast, which has already consisted of A-list thespians Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese Witherspoon.

A New Line Cinema production, the flick takes its focus on a CIA agent in the Middle East who questions his assignment after observing a secret-police grilling of a suspect in a suicide bombing. Shooting is slated to begin later this fall with Gavin Hood directing and Kelley Sane penning the script.

Sarah Jessica Parker Helps Launch "Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF"

Actress Sarah Jessica Parker, best known for her portrayal as a New York sex columnist on "Sex and the City," doubled her job. The actress, who serves as UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, helps served as the spokesperson for the 56th annual "Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF" campaign, launched Wednesday Oct 25th, 2006 at UNICEF headquarters in New York.

"My involvement with 'Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF' is particularly dear to me because I participated as a child," said Parker. "And now that I am a mother, I want to share the experience with my son. Halloween can be very focused on the amassing of bucket-loads of sweets."

Roger Donaldson Strolling Down "Baker Street"

Submitting another directorial stint into his burgeoning resume, Roger Donaldson has come on board to helm Arclight Films' "Baker Street", which is based on a true story of the legendary 1971 Baker Street bank robbery.

Slated to start filming early next year in the U.K with Jason Statham starring, the thriller project depicts how one of the biggest robberies in British history took place with no arrests ever made, nor money ever recovered. Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais have both been assigned to work on the screenplay while Steve Chasman and Charles Roven are set to produce.

Good news comes from Matt Leinart. The Arizona Cardinals quarterback welcomed his first child ever, a baby boy on Tuesday Oct 24th.

Leinart's girl, University of Southern California basketball player Brynn Cameron, gave birth to a son named Cole Cameron Leinart, at 9:33 p.m. in California and weighed in at 6 lbs., 7 oz.

Jennifer Aniston made her Broadway debut on Monday night Oct 23rd in New York City's Times Square during New York's Sixth Annual 24-hour Plays on Stage event.

In the play, titled "Three Girls and Bob", the actress played alongside the likes of Rosie Perez, Lynn Whitfield and David Cross, portraying a single woman who attends an intimacy workshop with two friends and then tries out its lessons on a hapless man.

Disney Picturing "Animated American"

Returning to the favor of live-action and animation mix like it had done before in "Who Framed Roger Rabbit", Walt Disney Pictures has obtained the rights to "Animated American" to develop it into a big screen feature under its banner.

Dealing with the difficulty faced by teens when trying to fit in, the project revolves around a misfit who's at sea after his girlfriend leaves town after graduation. Peter Ackerman is on duty to pen the script with Bob Cooper, Robert Zemeckis, and Jack Rapke producing.

"Stepfather" Heads to Paramount Vantage

Shifting attention to comedy after its decision to pick up thriller project "Fracture (2007)", Paramount Vantage is set to develop Brian Burns' pitch "Stepfather", a broad comedy feature that takes a look at perfect stepfather's impact on the family dynamic.

"This is sure to be a great film," Paramount Vantage president John Lesher remarked. "It's really relatable, and I can't believe no one's made a comedy about the perfect stepfather when the real father comes home."

Charles Leavitt Making "Confessions"

Fresh from penning "Blood Diamond" script for Warner Bros. Pictures, Charles Leavitt is now taking a new job from the same studio. The Pittsburgh-born screenwriter is on duty to write the screenplay of "Confessions of a Wall Street Shoeshine Boy", Variety has reported.

Based on Vanity Fair editor Doug Stumpf's unpublished book of the same title, the project focuses on a Brazilian shoeshine guy working at a preeminent New York financial institution and a reporter who exploits his relationship with an immigrant with an aim to uncover corporate crimes taking place at the Wall Street firm.

Pierce Brosnan & James Cameron to Receive Ocean Protection Award

Action hero Pierce Brosnan will be awarded an honor for his good deed in attempting to protect the world's oceans. The actor will be honored at the Oceana Partners Awards Gala in Beverly Hills on November 9 later this year.

Also honored with the same award is James Cameron. While Brosnan will pick up the award with wife Keely Shaye Smith from Universal Studios president Ron Meyer, actress Jamie Lee Curtis will present the award to Cameron, who has highlighted the beauty of the oceans with several underwater documentaries.

Black Sabbath Reform As Heaven and Hell

The remaining members of heavy metal band Black Sabbath are coming back. Yet as of this time the boys, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, Bill Ward and Ronnie James Dio, are all hitting the road as Heaven and Hell and not as Black Sabbath anymore.

A press release was issued Wednesday Oct 25th announcing that Ronnie James Dio, who replaced Ozzy Osbourne in Black Sabbath during the early '80s, is officially in. Still according to the press release, "after various promoters have approached their respective management, the guys have started taking all of this very seriously, as they have wanted to reunite for some time now...If all goes well, Heaven And Hell should be hitting the road in early 2007."

David Cunningham is going magical this time. "The Path to 9/11" director has been tapped to helm fantasy feature "The Dark Is Rising", a project which kicks off the co-financing alliance Walden Media and 20th Century Fox made last August.

Adapted from the second of Susan Cooper's five-book series of the same title, "The Dark Is Rising" concerns a youth who realizes that he is charged with saving the world after finding out his true identity of being a Sign Seeker, last of a group of immortals dedicated to fight a growing presence of dark forces, at age 11.

Still attached herself to comedy genre, Sarah Jessica Parker has given her agreement to star in "Smart People" replacing Rachel Weisz who originally was billed as a doctor who falls for a professor whose wife's death has turned him into a bitter man.

Together with Dennis Quaid, Thomas Haden Church, Ellen Page, and Ashton Holmes in the cast lineup, Parker thus will come under the direction of Noam Murro who is set to helm from Mark Poirier's script. Filming is scheduled to start on November 6 with Bill Block, Michael Costigan, and Bridget Johnson taking the producers' seats.

Zack Snyder Digging for "Cobalt 60"

Following its successful attempt to acquire the rights to "Cobalt 60", Universal Pictures has appointed "Dawn of the Dead" helmer Zack Snyder to direct the project, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Apart from helming the movie, Snyder is also reportedly attached to seat as producer alongside Debby Snyder. No words yet on cast lineup, but it is revealed that a search for a writer is under way.

Straying into the big screen, "Entertainment Tonight" correspondent Vanessa Minnillo has signed on to have a starring role in "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer", the follow up of last year's hit movie "Fantastic Four."

Lining up with the new cast members such as Beau Garrett and Andre Braugher apart from the original one containing Michael Chiklis, Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, and Chris Evans, Minnillo will portray the love interest of the Human Torch, played by Evans. However, it's still unclear whether the role filled by the beauty is the same one Garrett was linked to earlier this month.

It's been twelve years after his death that Kurt Cobain, Nirvana singer-songwriter, is making another record. The late rocker, whose wealth in an estimated $50 million between October 2005 and October of this year, tops the top spot on Forbes' 6th annual Top-Earning Dead Celebrities list.

In the last 12 months, Cobain reportedly earned $50 million, which is said largely due to his widow, Courtney Love, who sold a stake in his song catalog to publishing company Primary Wave. The once proclaimed King of Pop Elvis Presley, who died in 1977 and reigned as the top earner from 2001 to 2005, slips to 2nd spot with earnings of $42 million.

During the half-hour interview, Madonna said that she and husband Guy Ritchie had been contemplating adoption for more than two years before she first saw her future child, David Banda, in a clip from a documentary she's producing about the poverty-stricken African region, and felt an immediate connection.

The Billboard 200's Top 10 Albums for Oct 22, 2006

P. Diddy has just proved he does deserve the label "hip-hop mogul". The rapper scores his No. 1 album since 1997 when his latest effort "Press Play" takes the No. 1 U.S. album spot on The Billboard 200 for the week ended Sunday Oct 22nd, selling over 170,000 copies. "Press Play", which is Diddy's first studio album since 2001's platinum-selling "The Saga Continues", also tops Billboard magazine's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.

At 2nd position on the album chart is Evanescence's "The Open Door" with 112,000, while JoJo enters the chart with her sophomore set "The High Road" at No. 3, sold 108,000 copies. Former chart-topper, Justin Timberlake's "FutureSex/LoveSounds" secures the 4th spot with another 99,000, ahead of Dierks Bentley's "Long Trip Alone" at No. 5 selling 82,000 copies, and Rod Stewart's "Still the Same...Great Rock Classics of Our Time" at No. 6 sold another 79,000 copies in its second week out.

Supermodel Naomi Campbell Released on Bail After An Arrest in London

This just in. Supermodel Naomi Campbell was released on bail Thursday Oct 26th after being arrested in London Wednesday Oct 25th on suspicion of assault. Per Sky News it is said that the beauty was arrested on Wednesday afternoon after a woman filed a complaint in a central London police station and made an allegation of assault.

Authorities said Campbell has not been charged, but was held for questioning after a woman, believed to be her drug counselor, filed a police report stating that she had been attacked by Campbell at the legally challenged cover girl's Westminster home. Speaking on the incident, a spokesman for the supermodel, however, tend to perceive it simply as "misunderstanding."

Grammy-winning music producer Jermaine Dupri has decided to quit his job as a top executive at girlfriend Janet Jackson's label, Virgin Records, amid disappointing sales of her new album "20 Y.O."

In a statement issued Wednesday Oct 25th, the rapper-producer said "Since there are so many rumors running rampant about my position at Virgin Records, I feel that it is necessary to set the record straight.
