"Uglies", A Part of Trilogy on the Way

After having an epic brought into big screen's trilogy, a young adult fantasy book series is ready to keep moviegoers joining the queue.

This fantasy trilogy is going to be the project for 20th Century Fox. John Davis is tackling the producer line, which will have Davis' spouse, Jordan. No further details upon the casts so far.

Adam Shankman, the helm for the movie project, has joined New Line Cinema to produce the adaptation of Broadway's "Hairspray".

Gerard "The Phantom" Butler Is Fighting Vampires

Be ready to have the "Priest" make us eerie. It is the new horror movie directed by Andrew Douglas, who also helmed another horror screenplay, "The Amityville Horror".

The movie is attaching Gerard Butler as the leading role. Butler is also known as the Phantom in the adapted version of Andrew Lloyd Webber's "The Phantom of the Opera". He is also attached to Warner Bros.' next movie plan, "300" after currently performed in "Butterfly on a Wheel", together with Pierce Brosnan and Maria Bello.

Newlyweds Nicole & Keith Sell Wedding Photos for Charity

Following the footstep of fellow celebrity couple, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt who recently sell the photos of their baby daughter for charity, newlyweds Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban are said to do the same thing.

The now pronounced husband-and-wife is planning to sell their wedding pictures with proceeds go to charity. The money from the picture reportedly will be donated to a children's hospital in Australia.

The top place is "Click"ed to Adam Sandler in his high-concept comedy. The movie smashes all bad reviews blocking on the way. Estimating the gross of $40 million only in the premiere week, the movie grabs the average of $10,669 in 3,749 theatres. The movie might be Sandler's fourth highest opening screenplay since "The Longest Yard", "Anger Management", and "Big Daddy".

Film star Kate Winslet has on Friday June 23rd, 2006 flew back home to Bristol from the set of her latest movie to officially open a new unit for sick children sponsored by the Tiny Lives charity.

The actress has been tapped to cut the ribbon at Southmead Hospital's neonatal intensive care unit after a fundraising drive paid for its £1.2m (€1.8m) makeover.

Kevin Richardson, the center who also is the oldest of the boy-band, has decided to quit. Was leaving to pursue other interests, the man said in a statement, "It was a very tough decision for me but one that was necessary in order to move on with the next chapter of my life".

Melanie Griffith's hubby, Antonio Banderas, is now taking the lead together with Warren Beatty's heart conqueror, Annette Bening, in a new mystery screenplay, under the title "Homeland Security".

The mystery movie itself is the one with the same atmosphere as "To Catch a Thief", another Alfred Hitchcock's piece of work. It will be very much interesting how the mystery shall drag the audience to shivering and shaking sequences.

DreamWorks Pictures is working on dream projects! One of which involves Hollywood's outstanding movie director, Steven Spielberg.

Through its CEO, Stacey Snider, DreamWorks stated that Spielberg is targeted to direct new screenplays, after his 2005 "War of the Worlds" and "Munich". The next queuing project for him is the sequel of the legendary "Indiana Jones 4". This new lining up project will be under George Lucas' Lucasfilm and Paramount Pictures's financing. The script is penned by David Koepp and scheduled to be ready in the following three months, at the most.

It wasn't a surprise then to see hundreds of movie fans soaked the red carpet at Century 20 Theater at the Jordan Creek Town Center in West Des Moines for a glimpse of the starlet.

The actor and his girlfriend for two and a half years, Courtney Ford, walked the red carpet before a private charity screening as he glad-handed fans for more than an hour.

TV Mogul Aaron Spelling Died

It was a great loss for Hollywood entertainment industry. The TV mogul, Aaron Spelling, died Friday June 23rd, 2006 at his Los Angeles estate with wife Candy and son Randy at his side. He was 83.

Detailing on his death, Aaron's publicist Kevin Sasaki revealed the TV titan passed away at 6:25 p.m. The cause of death was complications from the stroke he had suffered June 18.
