Ice Cube Welcomes Back "Kotter"

Dimension Films has acquired the rights to the ABC series "Welcome Back, Kotter" which ran from 1975 to 1979. And hence the studio will soon turn the project into a feature film and has also set Ice Cube to produce and star in as well.

In the meantime, Tom Brady also has agreed to write the script and direct. With Matt Alvarez and Andrew Lazar give hand at producing alongside Cube, the drama flick is expected to start shooting in the fall.

Gives hand at directing the upcoming Fox's drama "Dallas", Robert Luketic has given offers to some notable actors to star in the updated take on the classic '80s series.

They who get the chance are Jennifer Lopez who is offered the part of Sue Ellen Ewing, John Travolta is set to portray J.R. Ewing and Shirley MacLaine who is about to be given the part of Miss Ellie Ewing.

Beckham Has His Teen Letters Sold at Auction

England football captain David Beckham has had his teen letters sold for 1,058 at Bonhams auction house in Chester, northwest England, as part of a sporting memorabilia sale. The superstar made the two letters and a drawing of a dog in the year 1991 when he was 16 and had just signed for English giant Manchester United.

Written to a friend called Lee, the letter read "I've been playing in the A-team instead of the B-team, which is brilliant. I've been doing really well with my football as well as with girls, because we are United players they all want to go with us. I got my first wage packet the other day and a bonus which come to 120 so that went into the bank and I have got about 250 in there now."

A friend of them claims, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are planning to tie the knot in the middle of Italy's stunning Lake Como, where pal George Clooney has a villa.

Hollywood star Sarah Jessica Parker has added the number of celebrities involving in social matters. The "Sex and the City" star is reported to have become the newest celebrity ambassador for UNICEF.

She explained: "I'm going to Liberia, where they've elected their first female president. It's a place that gets little or no attention, so we're going to try and bring some attention to it."

Master P Ordered to Perform Community Service

Last year, on January 27 to be exact, Master P and his brother Silkk the Shocker were pulled over by University of California, Los Angeles, police during which officers found a revolver under the driver's seat of the vehicle which was driven by Silkk, and a semiautomatic handgun on the passenger's seat where the rapper was sitting. Stemming from that incident, the siblings were each charged with a felony and faced up to three years in prison.

And in a deal with prosecutors, the rapper has on Monday March 13th, 2006 pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor gun charge and was placed on probation for three years. Moreover, as part of a plea deal with prosecutors to resolve gun charges, Master P was sentenced to 40 hours of community service, while also was fined $700. In the meantime, brother Silkk pleaded no contest to a felony for carrying an unregistered gun and was placed on three years probation, ordered to perform 40 hours of community service and pay a $700 fine.

Dixie Chicks "Taking The Long Way" on May 23rd

Making a return to music industry after a 4-years-hiatus, Dixie Chicks is about to give their devoted fans a surprise. It is in the form of a new album. Entitled "Taking The Long Way", the album which all of its 14 songs were co-written by members Marty Maguire, Emily Robison and Natalie Maines, is scheduled for a May 23rd release date.

Was produced by the likes of Rick Rubin, Neil Diamond, Run DMC and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, the new set among others consist song titles "Lubbock Or Leave It," "Everybody Knows," and "Not Ready To Make Nice." Following the release of the album, the music group reportedly also has planned to embark on a world tour that will kick-off this summer.

Hollywood beauty Charlize Theron has reportedly split from Stuart Townsend, her boyfriend of five years, after work commitments kept them apart. Not without reason, but the reports sparked soon after Theron was spotted attending recent showbiz bashes, including the BAFTAs and the Oscars, without Townsend by her side.

Such report was strengthen with a statement made by a friend of the actress' who revealed "Charlize is free and single again. Her relationship with Stuart is well and truly over. They just grew apart. It wasn't always easy because filming often kept them apart for months."

U2's Vertigo Tour Will Be Rescheduled for November

A week after postponing their Vertigo tour, Irish rock band U2 comes back, rescheduling the affected dates for November later this year. At least that's what the band frontman Bono told an Australian TV show Monday March 13th.

Refused to comment further on the reason behind the group's postponed tour, which many has predicted as The Edge's daughter has leukemia, Bono simply commented "I can't really get into details why" while adding that an official announcement could be made as soon as possible.

Aussie Star Minogue Meets Tsunami Theater Group

Aussie pop star Kylie Minogue made a surprise visit to a Sri Lankan theater troupe formed by Toby Gough, an English director and producer, in the aftermath of the tsunami. The singer actually is patron and sponsor of the Children of the Sea theater group, but the treatment she had to have due to breast cancer surgery has prevented her from seeing them.

Happy to meet the youngsters, Minogue said "Their triumph through adversity is inspiring". Moreover, during the visit Minogue also took a ride with four youngsters on an elephant. "Everyone has been so welcoming. I do hope to return one day soon", so the singer added.
