Having Wyclef Jean, who also provides backing vocals for LL Cool J on the song, as a cameo, the music video gives a look at America's recent political issues and reveals questions that the rapper wants to ask to the current and forthcoming presidents.
Along with a scene where a mother cries over her son's death on a war, LL Cool J raps, "Mr. President, are you aware/our flesh and blood is dying over there/when the coffins come back." The rapper also questions the head of the country at the verses saying, "Do you care/when only the poor kids die, is it fair/Don't get me wrong I respect the flag/but it hurts to see a kid in a body bag/he fought for his country with all he had/now we have a family without a dad ..."
Wyclef Jean Records Song for Venus Williams
August 27, 2008 03:08:21Wyclef Jean has built a bridge between music and sport by penning a song in celebration of the U.S. Open, called "Venus (I'm Ready)". The inspiration behind the song is unmistakably, pro tennis player Venus Williams. "Venus' determination and mental strength inspires me!," said Jean. "Much like Isis, her strength should be celebrated."
The song which is available for streaming on Jean's official site, has been premiered on Monday, August 25, the first day of the tournament that is held in Queens, New York. It will also be made Williams' theme song throughout her stint in the competition that winds down on September 7.
Jacob the Jeweler Sues Wyclef Jean for Unpaid Bill
July 31, 2008 01:07:32Another day sees another celebrity being hit with another lawsuit. The latest that has a run-in with the law is hip-hop artist Wyclef Jean. He's sued by jewelry dealer, known in the hip-hop world as "Jacob the Jeweler," over $300K worth of bling.
The diamond dealer to the hip-hop stars filed a lawsuit in Manhattan court Tuesday, July 29 alleging that Jean bought several items between March 2002 and January 2006 worth a total of $765,100. The court papers stated that Jacob and Company Incorporated claimed the star to still owe them $319,680, despite "repeated demands for payment."

The star-studded bill is made up of various genres of music which boast among others like Wyclef Jean, Flo Rida, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, The Bravery, Lloyd and Simple Plan.
This year the festival will begin their annual event at University of Maryland in College Park on May 2 and continue at two other places, namely Philadelphia's Penn's Landing (May 3) and Boston's University of Massachusetts (May 4). The line-up that also includes Cobra Starship, The Spill Canvas and All Time Low will give all-day entertainment at each campus.

A track from Jean's sixth studio album called 'Welcome to the East' allegedly samples a 1995 song by Blahzay Blahzy titled 'Danger' but did not credit it. One of the group members, Blahz, filed the lawsuit in Manhattan U.S. District Court. Beside Jean, Sony BMG is also named in the lawsuit and both parties are expected to receive litigation papers this week.
Wyclef Jean Extends 'Carnival II' Tour Dates

Wyclef Jean will visit the band Cartel who has been living inside a 'bubble' placed at Hudson River Park's Pier 54 in New York City. The singer will work with the band on the song "Wasted" that is to be included in Cartel's second album.
Before Wyclef, Cartel has had collaboration with Choir of Harlem and New York street musicians on some tracks for this album. The band will leave the bubble on June 12 and immediately hold a concert on the pier. The result of their album writing during the bubble stay will be out July 24 via Epic Records.

Gaining reputation through duet with Shakira in "Hips Don't Lie" and penning T.I.'s new single, Wyclef Jean is back concentrating on his solo career. A seventh album titled "The Carnival 2: Memoirs of an Immigrant" will be out after three long hiatus.
The album that is due September will see him working with Paul Simon, Mary J. Blige, Chamillionaire and Akon among some. The ex- member of The Fugees also got the partnership of The Pussycat Dolls' Nicole Scherzinger out of coincidence. He said he was working on a new sound when "Nicole happens to be there. Like, ain't nothing rehearsed because we went in on a vibe." Nicole will be featured in his first single with the help from Black Eyed Peas' will.i.am.

For what is considered the most conceptual album of rapper T.I., it really does receive a lot of back ups from reputable artists. The fifth studio album which is dubbed "T.I. vs. T.I.P." will be released in July and feature two of the Grammy award winning singer's musical personas.
Via phone from Atlanta, T.I. spilled out some hints on the new album. As the backbone for this album, he has invited the controversial rapper, Eminem to jot in, "We got a real hot concept that we spoke about over the phone. It's gonna be on some real creative sh**." He has also slated Justin Timberlake to contribute a song in the LP. He said, "We're just waiting on the proper song to get him on my album as well."

HBO to Release Wyclef Jean Comedy Series

October 04, 2005 03:10:32In nearly a decade that they disappearing from music world, The Fugees are reuniting. Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean and Pras Michael recently working on their new album and come up as the result is single "Take It Easy" which they already released via Apple's iTunes music store.
While the disc is scheduled for an early 2006 release date, the group is about to hold a European tour planned for the end of the year. The tour reportedly will begin November 30 in Vienna and over the following three weeks will make stops in Finland, France, Sweden, Norway, Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom, with their last stop scheduled December 20 in Switzerland.
