The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus Biography

news-detailsThe Red Jumpsuit Apparatus started their career as a local band in Middleburg, Florida. Formed in 2003 , they recorded twelve songs for their debut self-titled album independently at the end of 2004. Just months after that, they were signed to Jason Flom at Virgin records in 2005 and started cooking up music, which mostly took samples from the songs in their self-titled LP, for their first major studio album.

After a year in the making, they released their first major studio album under the title of "Don't You Fake It". They dedicated the record to Lachlan Pike, dummer Jon Wilkes's friend who almost died from cancer. Led by hit single "Face Down", the effort peaked at number 25 on Billboard hot 200 and was certified gold by RIAA in November 2006 for selling more than 500,000 copies.

Out of twelve tracks in the album, four of them were featured in various movies and video games. "False Pretense" was featured in Djimon Hounsou-starring movie "Never Back Down", "Face Down" was featured in video game Saint Row 2 as well as used in Lindsay Lohan-starring film "Georgia Rule" and Dane Cook-starring movie "Employee of the Month". Meanwhile, "In Fate's Hands" was featured in video game Madden NFL 07 and "Misery Loves Its Company" was included in the soundtrack of movie "Saw IV".

In February 2007, this band headlined U.S. Take Action Tour along with My Chemical Romance and Rise Against to raise awareness against teen suicide and against animal cruelty. At the same year, they also teamed up with record label to conduct a fundraising event for the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence.

In June 2007, they began working on new songs for new album. A year later, they released a demo version of a new song "Pen and Paper" from the record and followed with the release of single "You Better Pray". However, it was not until November 2008, they revealed "Lonely Road" as a working title for their new album. They will drop the record on February 3.
