Apparently still eager for another turn in comedy genre after "The TV Set", Sigourney Weaver is reportedly engaged in negotiations for a starring slot in Universal Pictures' comedy "Baby Mama."
Featuring Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, the flick revolves around a single professional woman who opts to hire a surrogate mother so she can have a baby and keep her career on track. While Fey and Poehler have already been billed as the career woman and the surrogate, Weaver will likely play Chaffee Bicknell, owner and operator of the surrogate agency that Fey's character uses if everything goes as expected.

Good news has come from James Cameron regarding his ambitious project "Avatar." On his way back from filming three days of live action work in Kauai for the flick, the famed filmmaker eagerly gave Ain't It Cool News an update of the movie's cast.
The Oscar-winning director happily confirmed that Wes Studi, Sigourney Weaver, Peter Mensah, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, and Laz Alonso have all been included in the lineup with Weaver playing a character named Grace. Already submitted to the list were Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana who portray Jake Sully and Neytiri, respectively.

Honoring Canada's best in the film and television industries, the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television has unveiled on Tuesday, January 9, in Toronto the list of titles and names nominated for its Genie Awards.
For the top prize of Best Motion Picture, the organization lined up four Quebecois films namely "Bon Cop, Bad Cop", "Un Dimanche A Kigali" aka "A Sunday in Kigali", "Maurice Richard" aka "The Rocket", and "Guide De La Petite Vengeance" aka "The Little Book of Revenge", to face off against the English-language flick "Trailer Park Boys: The Movie."

Two great talents are in the brink to bring more light to "The Girl in the Park." Variety has revealed that Sigourney Weaver and Kate Bosworth have both already engaged in talks to join the project, a directorial debut of Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright David Auburn.
A production of Furst Films, the dramatic feature tells about a woman who is still traumatized by the disappearance of her 3-year-old daughter 15 years ago. Upon meeting a troubled young woman, she quietly keeps at heart a hope that she may be her missing child.

Being ambitious with its new film project of "The Tale of Despereaux", a computer-animated feature adapted from Kate DiCamillo's bestseller book of the same title, Universal has announced Wednesday, September 13 that it has cast ten stars to lend voices to the picture.
All expected to be able to "bring to life the unforgettable characters and help convey the excitement, adventure and fun of this perfect gem of a book", the talents involved are Justin Long, Dustin Hoffman, Kevin Kline, Robbie Coltrane, Ciaran Hinds, Christopher Lloyd, William H. After her famous and claiming-fame role as Lieutenant Ripley in the 1979 "Alien", Sigourney Weaver is ready to show some actions in a new thriller by Columbia Pictures, "Vantage Point".
The movie itself is revealing the assassination attempt on the U.S. President, and having Pete Travis as the director and Barry Levy wrote the movie script. Meanwhile, Neal Moritz will collaborate with Tania Landau in the credits for the producer and executive producer.
