Variety broke the news that the 2009 NBA Most Valuable Player will star as himself in Universal Pictures' comedy "Fantasy Basketball Camp". This movie role will be the 24-year-old athlete's feature starring debut.
"I initially sought LeBron out because my 8-year-old son, Thomas, and I were just dying to meet him, but I felt that beyond being one of the world's great superstar athletes, here was someone so relaxed and comfortable with himself that he would have the capability to be that way onscreen," producer Brian Grazer said on the recruitment of the NBA star. "Later, when I watched him host 'Saturday Night Live,' and saw his advertising work, it was clear he can do this."

The singer and the basketball ace will inspire America's youth to pursue higher education in a TV special aired on September 8.
MTV, Nickelodeon, BET, CMT and 18 other youth-oriented channels owned by Viacom TV will broadcast it simultaneously on the day that also marks the start of a new U.S. school year. Kelly and James, who are high school graduates, will talk about key educators in their lives who helped them to succeed.

As of this year, sitting on the No. 1 spot of the list is the NBA's LeBron James, who pulled in $27 million between June 2006 to June 2007. The so-called King James, who turns 23 on December 30th, stands to make plenty more with his new four-year $60 million contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers and endorsement deals with Nike, Coca-Cola and Upper Deck.
On the 2nd spot of the list is The New Orleans Saints' Reggie Bush. The 22 years old NFL player earned $24 million in the time period, such amount of money that put him one place ahead of tennis goddess Maria Sharapova who's at No. 3 with one million less, $23 million.

Among the athletes honored during the award event was professional basketball player LeBron James who currently plays for the Cleveland Cavaliers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Amidst preparing himself for Game 4 of the NBA finals, LeBron James happily welcomed the arrival of his second son with longtime girlfriend Savannah Brinson early Thursday June 14th.
The baby boy, named Bryce Maximus James, was born at 12:51 a.m. in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. "LeBron and Savannah are overjoyed with the birth of their son," a rep for the couple confirmed the good news "and are looking forward to bringing him home to his big brother, LeBron Jr."

Cleveland Cavalier's "small forward" LeBron James who also raps has chosen a track to be the theme song for his team's game. Together with producers Paul Wall and Al Fatz, he handpicked the song "Main Attraction" among others that were in the competition.
Held since January, Sprite and NBA sponsored a competition to compose a song to be played during games of Cavaliers attempting to reach NBA Finals. Over 29,000 songs were collected and Kanoa "eternallyballn" Doblin's "Main Attraction" stood out among the crowd.
