Other headliners also performed their latest singles. Kelly Clarkson entertained concertgoers with "Already Gone", and Jordin Sparks invited audience to dance with "S.O.S. (Let the Music Play)". As for Jennifer Hudson and Adele, both of them brought the first singles from their debut albums. Jennifer came out with "Spotlight", and Adele took the stage with "Hometown Glory".

Furthermore, it is announced that Jordin Sparks will make a duet with Martina McBride, Kelly Clarkson will perform alongside Melissa Etheridge, and Leona Lewis is staged to take the mic with Cyndi Lauper. In addition to newly-announced duets, the headliners will also showcase their singing talent on individual set.

February 03, 2009 11:02:24A music video aimed to support India.Arie's new single "Chocolate High", which features Musiq Soulchild and comes from her upcoming LP "Testimony: Vol. 2, Love & Politics", has just been brought to public. It shows her waking up in the morning alone. In another room, Soulchild is also seen doing the same morning activities as she does.
"Testimony: Vol. 2, Love & Politics" is scheduled to hit the U.S. stores on February 10. With Arie contributing behind production desk with Novel and Dru Castro among others, the record is aimed to follow up her 2006 effort "Testimony: Vol. 1, Life & Relationship".

December 30, 2008 09:12:46In gearing up to release her fourth studio effort "Testimony: Vol. 2, Love & Politics", India.Arie comes out with tracklisting for the forthcoming album. She is set to bring in eleven new tracks with an intro, outtro and two interludes.
Among the new songs, Arie picks up "Chocolate High", which features Musiq Soulchild, as the album's lead single. For the second single, she will release "Therapy" which has Jamaican roots artist Gramps Morgan contributing his vocals on the hook.

She's set to make her Broadway debut, headlining a new production of Ntozake Shange's play, "For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf."
Whoopi Goldberg, serves as producer, announced Tuesday, June 24 alongside DreamTeam Entertainment Group that the Grammy Award-winning artist is joining the cast of the play. Preview performances are to begin August 19 at Broadway's Circle in the Square Theatre. Opening night is scheduled for September 8 later this year.
India.Arie Launching Ex-Backup Singer Under Her New Label

The first artist to release an album under the brand new label is Anthony David, a long time acquittance and former backup singer of Arie who will release his major debut album "Acey Deucey" on June 17.
"I'm excited that Tony will be the first artist to be released on SoulBird," said Arie, "Tony is a great talent and one of my oldest friends. I have so many memories with him. Not only did he encourage me to start performing professionally, but it was Tony who suggested I use my first and middle name as an artist. There was even a time when he spent his rent money for me to experiment in the studio."

Stevie Wonder was not only the guest of honor in American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) American Troubadour Award, but he also claimed the top award in the event. The award is presented to Wonder for his contribution as a songwriter that has brought a positive influence both inside and outside the industry.
In the award's "Songwriter Night" that was held in Capitol Hill on March 13, a line of stars saluted Wonder by singing his classics. Among the them are India.Arie, Tony Bennett, Wyclef Jean, Wynonna Judd, Chaka Khan, Brian McKnight, Smokey Robinson and Joan Osborne.

First of all, Prince takes the nomination of Outstanding Male Artist with initial competitors of Chris Brown, Jay-Z, John Legend and Lionel Richie. The vocal wonder Mary J. Blige on the other hand, takes on the female position. With that she beats her fellow warriors Beyonce Knowles, Corinne Bailey Rae, American idol winner Fantasia Barrino and also India.Arie. Besides the award, Mary also brings home Best Music Video for "Be Without You".

Tucker, an American actor and comedian who was famous for his action in the 1998 martial arts action comedy "Rush Hour" and its sequel "Rush Hour 2," was seen at the opening of Oprah Winfrey's Leadership Academy For Girls In South Africa last month with the two-time Grammy Award-winning American soul singer.

Known as the pioneer in recognizing people of color in film, television, music, and literature, the American National Association for the Advancement of Colored People revealed yesterday, January 9, names and titles included in the nominations for this year's NAACP Image Awards.
Scoring most nods were both musical drama "Dreamgirls" and comedy series "Everybody Hates Chris" as each amazingly landed eight nominations, notably that in the category of Outstanding Motion Picture for the former and that of Outstanding Comedy Series for the latter.

Fans of soul diva India.Arie could soon enjoy her previously unreleased version of "I Am Not My Hair" in a new Lifetime Television movie, "Why I Wore Lipstick to My Mastectomy."
The version, which is the original version of the song, actually is a duet between the R&B/soul singer and pop-rocking artist Pink. It will be available on iTunes beginning Oct. 23.

Johnny Cash's "American V: A Hundred Highways" earns the No. 1 spot on Billboard's albums chart with 88,000 copies sold in the week ended Sunday. This of course is a great attainment a set has ever reached considering the slow holiday week at retail, while also marks the late singer's No. 1 album since 1969's "At San Quentin".
What is more about "American V: A Hundred Highways", which is a collection of songs Cash recorded just before his death in 2003, the set moreover also crowned the Top Country Albums tally, knocking the Dixie Chicks' "Taking the Long Way" to No. 2 after seven weeks on top.

Grammy-winning songstress India.Arie has her third album, "Testimony: Vol. 1, Life & Relationship", tops the Billboard 200 album chart at No. 1 selling 161,000 copies on the week ended Sunday July 2nd, such amount that brings the singer to beat another new release on the chart, Dashboard Confessional's "Dusk and Summer" who is on the runner-up position with 134,000 in sales.
"Life & Relationship" is Arie's third album subsequent to her 2001's "Acoustic Soul" and 2002's "Voyage to India". It moreover also marks her first ever chart-topper, that's for you to note. Back then to the chart, there's last week's champ Nelly Furtado's "Loose" at No. 3 with 99,000 units sold, followed by the Dixie Chicks' "Taking the Long Way" at #4 with more than 78,000 scans.
