Etta says, "She's up here singing my song, now what am I gonna do? I'm a comedian besides a singer. I wasn't doing it to be hateful... I think I'm funny and she's not the only one I'll say something about." She then adds, "She got up there and sang it and didn't give me a chance to sing 'At Last'."

Taking the bait, James who is about to leave the recording studio steps back in front of the mic and sings the song whole-heartedly.

Benefiting Phoenix House, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping those affected by addiction, the gala saw the film's stars dressing up for the special occasion.
While scruffy Adrien Brody walked down the red carpet wearing a black suit, his co-star Beyonce Knowles came to the premiere dressed in a black Dolce & Gabbana dress with puff sleeves. Brody was accompanied by Elsa Pataky, whereas Knowles brought her mother, Tina Knowles, to the special evening.

According to PageSix.com, the 26-year-old R 'n' B singer will star in "Cadillac Records" under the guidance of the 70-year-old hitmaker of timeless classic "At Last".
The news of James coaching the "Deja Vu" singer who also serves as the film's producer was broken by the Grammy Lifetime Achievement receiver herself. Talking to PageSix, she revealed that she will make Knowles works hard to be able to impersonate her, "Oh my god, she's going to have a hill to climb, because Etta James ain't been no angel! I kinda have a man's voice. It's a contralto, more bluesy, religious. I would really like to work with her on that."

A rare footage of Stevie Wonder's duet with the late Ella Fitzgerald will be included in the diva's revived classics album "We All Love Ella: Celebrating The First Lady Of Song".
Grammy award winning song "You Are the Sunshine of My Life" was recorded in a duet version between Wonder and Fitzgerald in 1977. This song is among latest additions for the album that is due June 5 via Verne. Other artists also paying tribute through their covers are Michael Buble, KD Lang, Diana Krall, Natalie Cole, Gladys Knight, Queen Latifah, Hank Jones, Ledesi, Dianne Reeves, Linda Ronstadt, Etta James and Lizz Wright.

Blues prodigy B.B. King, gospel singer Al Green and R&B songster Etta James are the threesome that will give blues fans in America the shake-up they have been dying for.
The three of them will appear in the event that is called "B.B. King Blues Festival". A total of 14 cities will be visited, beginning at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Miami on July 24 and ending at Kautz Ironstone Vineyards Theatre in Murphys, Calif on September 9. Other venues include Atlanta, New York, Detroit, Baltimore, San Francisco, Minneapolis, Dallas and Denver.

As a tribute to the late jazz singer Ella Fitzgerald, artists such as Michael Buble, KD Lang and Diana Krall have joined forces to make an album covering Ella's classics. The compilation will contain 13 tracks and is titled "We All Love Ella: Celebrating The First Lady Of Song."
Scheduled to release on June 5 via Verve, the album will also feature Natalie Cole, Gladys Knight, Queen Latifah, Hank Jones, Ledesi, Dianne Reeves, Linda Ronstadt, Etta James and Lizz Wright.

American singer, guitarist, and composer Chuck Berry will have his DVD documentary "Hail! Hail! Rock 'n' Roll" released as an exclusive DVD/CD version under Coffee merchant Starbucks.
"Hail! Hail! Rock 'n' Roll" actually is Taylor Hackford's 1987 feature which revolves around an all-star concert marking Berry's 60th birthday the year before. The show held at the Fox Theater in Berry's St. Louis hometown, featured a house band led by Keith Richards, with such guests as Eric Clapton, Etta James, and Linda Ronstadt among others. Besides, it also shows interview section with the likes of Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard, Bo Diddley, Roy Orbison, The Everly Brothers, and Bruce Springsteen.
