Elizabeth Banks and Terrence Howard Among 66th Golden Globes Nominees' Announcers
December 06, 2008 11:12:35Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) has come up with the names for the 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards nominations' announcers. On Friday, December 5, the organization reveals that Elizabeth Banks, Terrence Howard and Rainn Wilson have been appointed to announce the contenders for the upcoming Golden Globes.
The three Hollywood actors will join HFPA President Jorge Camara for the special event to be held on Thursday, December 11, morning at The Beverly Hilton. They are expected to read out nominees for the awards' 25 categories starting from 5:00 A.M.
'Zack and Miri' Bring 'Porno' to L.A. for Premiere
October 21, 2008 02:10:53On Monday, October 20, Hollywood saw a considerably eventful evening with the Los Angeles premiere of "Zack and Miri Make a Porno". Rolling out red carpet in front of Grauman's Chinese Theater, the Weinstein Company have come out with a special screening of the Kevin Smith's R-rated comedy.
Though the event wasn't highlighted with any unique setting, it still saw many celebrities walking by the signature special event carpet. Among the attendees were some of the cast ensemble, Seth Rogen, Elizabeth Banks, Justin Long, Brandon Routh, Traci Lords, Craig Robinson, Jason Mewes, Katie Morgan and Ricky Mabe, and the director/writer Smith.
Another 'W' Clip and Featurette Hit
October 16, 2008 01:10:24Before "W" makes its debut in the big screen this coming Friday, fans can catch another preview to the Oliver Stone's biopic though a clip and a featurette. The clip entitled "Trust" presents the time when Karl Rove and George W. Bush sit down to talk about their campaign strategies. In it, it can also be seen how Bush comes out with a counter argument to the accusations thrown in front of him.
On the new featurette, it contains the interview with actress Elizabeth Banks who plays Laura Bush in the movie as well as several never-before-seen footage focusing on her portrayal of Laura. In the interview, the 34-year-old actress discusses about the experience working with co-star Josh Brolin and others. She also points out what the movie is all about. New York Glams Up in 'W' Premiere

Bush. On Tuesday, October 14, Lionsgate Films rolled down red carpet in front of Ziegfeld Theater in New York City to welcome the star-studded cast, film's crew as well as celebrity guests.
Spotted attending the special evening were most of its talented cast ensemble, including Josh Brolin, Elizabeth Banks, Ellen Burstyn, Thandie Newton, James Cromwell, Jeffrey Wright, Michael Gaston, Rob Corddry, Richard Dreyfuss, Jesse Bradford and Toby Jones. On the red carpet, they were joined by the people behind this biopic film, such as director Oliver Stone, producer Tom Ortenberg and Lionsgate's Joe Drake.
Elizabeth Banks to Portray U.S. First Lady Laura Bush
March 26, 2008 03:03:04Elizabeth Banks, the co-star of Tobey Maguire in "Seabiscuit" as well as in "Spider-Man" series, may be getting the honor to portray the forty-third U.S. First Lady in an upcoming biopic "W". According to Hollywood Reporter, the 34-year-old actress is in final talks to star as Laura Bush in the Oliver Stone's project.
Banks will be joining Josh Brolin who has already been on board to depict George W. Bush. It was reported further that if she indeed nails the role, the actress who has just finished shooting for "Zack and Miri Make a Porno" with Seth Rogen is going to start filming for the project in late April in Shreveport, Louisiana.

While her face is still gracing the cinemas through "Spider-Man 3", Elizabeth Banks has already secured another starring slot in "A Tale of Two Sisters", a new horror feature coming from DreamWorks Pictures.
A remake of the 2003 Korean flick "Janghwa, Hongryeon" directed by Kim Jee-Woon, the picture follows two sisters as they return home to their father after spending time in a mental institution. Their recovery, however, is hindered by their cruel, obsessive stepmother that Banks is set to portray and an interfering ghost.

It's just about a week ago that we learned that Elizabeth Banks has joined the "Starship Dave" cast and now she already has newer project to get involved in.
Variety has reported that the lovely actress is about to star in also produce a rom-com feature entitled "What About Barb" for Universal Pictures. Based on the story of the same name by Jill Bernheimer and Keetgi Kogan, pic centers on a socialite who must allow her uncouth cousin to be the maid of honor so that her nouveau riche uncle will pay for the wedding.

Finding more talents to get onboard "Starship Dave", the 20th Century Fox has submitted Elizabeth Banks, Gabrielle Union, and Ed Helms into the flick's cast, which has already had Eddie Murphy in to topline.
A fish-out-of-water comedy, the project revolves around a spaceship that takes the form of a human operated by one hundred human-looking tiny aliens who seek a way to save their planet. Murphy will play both the ship and its captain while Banks is billed as an Earth woman whom he falls for.

Finally finds a female actor after garnering male thespians in its cast, "Fred Claus" has smoothly added Elizabeth Banks in the line-up. Plotted to play opposite Vince Vaughn, the beauty is billed to portray the funnyman's love interest, a hyper-organized member of Santa's Little Helpers. Vaughn himself will be the loser brother of Santa Claus who returns to North Pole after living in New York for years.
A Warner Bros. production, "Fred Claus" also features Paul Giamatti, Kevin Spacey, and John Michael Higgins as the cast members with David Dobkin at helm. Dobkin is also producing alongside Jessie Nelson who pens the script with Dan Fogelman.
Stars Joining Vince Vaughn in New Comedy
December 05, 2005 11:12:39After his long-spoken film with Jennifer Aniston "Derailed," Vince Vaughn will next be seen in writer/director David O. Russell's untitled comedy. He is set to play Hume Stevens, the wise host of a radio call-in show, whose life gets turned upside down when he starts becoming his callers.
Joining him to star in is Elizabeth Banks and Luis Guzman. Production of the film will begin early January next year with filming in Los Angeles and Philadelphia.
