'Cougar Town' Keeps Airing Despite Courteney Cox's Absence
November 23, 2009 10:11:12Courteney Cox is taking a leave from filming her new sitcom "Cougar Town" to attend to a family matter. "We can confirm production on Cougar Town has been temporarily shut down in order for Courteney to deal with a private family matter," an ABC rep released a statement on Sunday, November 22.
Although what kind of family affair is not disclosed, ABC said that the absence won't affect the show immediately. Cox apparently has shot enough episodes to keep fans entertained until early next year. At least three episodes have been completed and will be aired on November 25, December 9 and January 6, 2010.
Confirmed, Lisa Kudrow to Visit 'Cougar Town'

Courteney Cox has confirmed that Lisa Kudrow is in talks to appear on her new sitcom "Cougar Town" which has received a full season order. ABC has confirmed the casting news and Kudrow will shoot next month for an episode airing early 2010.
"If it all works out, she'll play a dermatologist that my character can't stop going to even though the doctor is mean to me," Cox tells TV Guide Magazine. She adds that the writers are not exactly sure whether it's related to Botox but, "whatever it is, she's the best in town at what she does and I become addicted."

After being rumored for several months that the couple will have another encounter with the Ghostface Killer in the newest installment of the horror film series, Arquette has finally confirmed to Marc Malkin from E! Online of their involvement, stating "We are going to be doing 'Scream 4'."
During the interview, Arquette admitted that he is very excited to reprise his role as Deputy Dewey Riley because he and Cox have sweet memory during the shooting of the first movie. "I fell in love with my wife [Courteney] on 'Scream', so the opportunity to bring [Dewey] back to life and for my wife to play that really bitchy character again, it's just going to be really fun. According to the publication, both Courteney Cox and David Arquette have been approached by writer/director Kevin Williamson to reprise their roles in what EW called to be a reboot project.
Though suggesting possibilities of the two actors' return, EW noted that deals have yet to be signed. But, it is said that everyone involved in the negotiations are working a deal that will avoid potential scheduling conflicts from Courteney's involvement in "Cougar Town", which was picked up by ABC earlier.

Bloody-Disgusting recently came up with a report, suggesting that several of the original main characters, Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and David Arquette, would make their returns.
However, since this feature project is intended to be a younger version of the "Scream" movies, those three will only make cameo appearances. Campbell, Cox and Arquette, who all have starred in the previous three "Scream" films as Sidney Prescott, Gale Weathers and Deputy Dwight Riley respectively, reportedly are in negotiation for the cameos. Nonetheless, there are yet words on the possible cameos from Dimension Films.
