2009 Trumpet Awards Debuts on Small Screen Easter Sunday
April 11, 2009 11:04:51The 17th Annual Trumpet Awards will invade small screen this Easter Sunday. Hosted by Sherri Shepherd of "The View" and Anthony Anderson of "Law & Order", the awards show, honoring African-American achievement in diverse fields such as law, religion, politics, public service, sports and entertainment, is going to be aired on TV One from 8 to 10 P.M. on April 12.
Taped during its gala event at the Cobb Energy Center in Atlanta on January 25, the show will see Raven-Symone, Magic Johnson and Chris Tucker among other honorees. Raven-Symone has been given the Pinnacle Award and Magic Johnson has received the Living Legend Award. Meanwhile, Chris Tucker who took the Entertainment Award will be seen breaking his trophy on stage.
Settling on Non-'Rush Hour' Film, Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker to Team Up Again
April 15, 2008 10:04:32Having a string of successful films together, kung fu actor Jackie Chan and comic man Chris Tucker allegedly are going to share the screen again. According to MTV News, the two actors famous for their unlikely teaming in "Rush Hour" movies will collaborate once again to make another movie that is promised to not be a "Rush Hour" film.
To MTV on Saturday, April 12, the co-star of Jet Li in "The Forbidden Kingdom" revealed that he has talked to Tucker about the new film. "It's like two days ago when Chris Tucker called me. We sat down and decided we want to do another movie. Not a 'Rush Hour' - something new," recalled the co-star of Owen Wilson in "Shanghai Knights". "I said yes, and after I shook [Tucker's] hand, I said: 'Look, we need a middleman. I don't want to shake hands, then I go back to Hong Kong and you stay here, I get busy and you get busy. You have to have somebody in the middle to follow up, otherwise it will never happen."

Black Stars Gathered for Brett Ratner Project

Wanna see the big names in 'Black Hollywood' appearing together in one screen? Do keep an eye on this project from Brett Ratner, folks, as the filmmaker has successfully enticed the likes of Eddie Murphy, Chris Rock, and Chris Tucker to all take part in a movie he is about to make, which is still untitled yet.
Set to be produced and distributed by Universal Pictures, the flick is said to be developed as a black version of the popular "Ocean's Eleven" and its sequels. Adding the hype, "Inside Man" scribe Russell Gewirtz is confirmed to work on the script while Denzel Washington is reportedly engaged in talks with Ratner for a starring slot in the movie.
Roman Polanski Is in A "Rush"

It is already confirmed earlier that Roman Polanski will star in the highly anticipated "Rush Hour 3." The actor reportedly is slated to portray the role of a French police officer who harasses Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan's characters in several scenes while the stars battle a wing of a Chinese organized-crime family.
Brett Ratner told Daily Variety that he persuaded Polanski to appear after a chance encounter while in pre-production in Paris. "Roman is my favorite director and my favorite actor, so I asked Jeff Nathanson to write him into the movie," said the director.
New Line Cinema Okays "Rush Hour 3" Production

After some "controversies", New Line Cinema finally okays the production of the highly anticipated "Rush Hour 3". New Line Production President Toby Emmerich announced May 4th, 2006 that the film would start production this fall with a 2007 release date being eyed.
In the meantime, fellow actors Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan will both star in, reprising their role as LAPD detective James Carter and Chinese Chief Inspector Lee which will feature the action comedy duo traveling to Paris to battle a wing of the Chinese organized crime family, the Triads.

What a smart decision that New Line Cinema has finally gotten "Rush Hour 3" on the fast track. Moreover, the studio also has signed Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan to again star in, while director Brett Ratner and screenwriter Jeff Nathanson also will surely return to the sequel.

Chris Tucker Pleads Guilty to Speeding
May 13, 2005 11:05:46Actor Chris Tucker has pleaded guilty to speeding and eluding police during a brief car chase last month. Things began when the star was driving a Bentley at 109 mph on Interstate 20 on April 17 when Georgia State Patrol troopers attempted to pull him over for the speed limit on that stretch of road is 70 mph.
Unfortunately, Tucker didn't hear the police's sirens. And so the car chase lasted for about 10 miles before the star stopped and told police he was traveling from Atlanta to Columbia, S.C., to go to church. Stemming from the charge, Tucker entered the pleas Tuesday in Warren County Probate Court and paid a fine of $6,999.
Chris Tucker is Ready for "Rush Hour 3"
May 07, 2005 10:05:52"Variety" has reported actor Chris Tucker is close to signing a two-picture, $40 million deal with New Line Cinema that will finally put the wheels in motion for "Rush Hour 3." The similar news also reported in a March issue of the New Yorker who wrote that Tucker will get a $20 million-plus payday for "Rush Hour 3," plus 20 percent of the receipts.
Aside from Tucker who still close to signing, his co-star for the movie previous episodes, Jackie Chan, has already signed on for "Rush Hour 3" and stands to earn about $20 million, per Variety. To notice, the third edition of "Rush Hour" is scheduled to begin production later this year in Los Angeles and Paris.
Chris Tucker Arrested for Speeding
April 20, 2005 09:04:57Actor Chris Tucker has briefly put in McDuffie County Jail, Georgia, Sunday April 16, 2005, after being clocked at a 109 miles per hour on a stretch of Georgia's Interstate 20, nearly 40 mph over the speed limit, and then leading police on a high-speed chase. The Georgia State Patrol even said the actor had once drove his 2005 Bentley up to 120.
Georgia State Patrol spokesperson Larry Schnall, in addition, explained that a trooper had at first tried to stop Tucker's car, but he continued to drive even faster, pushing the trooper to radioed ahead to other troopers and asked them to stop Tucker's vehicle. And so as the trooper continued to pursue him, Tucker continued to accelerate until he hit a rough patch and was "forced to slow down."
