Blake Lewis Dropped From His Label
June 26, 2008 03:06:40American Idol 6th season runner-up, Blake Lewis is facing a big problem regarding his music career as latest report stated that the he has been dropped by his current label Arista Records. The media claim that the poor sales of his latest album "Audio Day Dream", which has reached 300,000 copies until this date, was the main reason behind the drop.
Confirming the news, a representative from Sony BMG, Arista Records partner company, said in a statement "Arista Records will not be picking up Blake's option and we wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors." Although having been ditched by his company, Blake is still under a full management of 19 Recordings, the company owned by the Idol's producer Simon Fuller.

"One of my songs is based on Natalie Portman," Blake told In Touch. "It's called 'Know My Name' and it's about the idea of having a celebrity crush when you see someone in a magazine and you just like her for some reason and think, 'I could be with that girl.'"

Matthew McConaughey Named One of People Magazine's "Hottest Bachelors"
June 14, 2007 11:06:02
He's been considered by many as a beach hunk, judging from his heavy exercise which resulted in his muscled body. The ladies' man, moreover, also is highly credited for his acting career, and thus it is not surprising then to have his name, Matthew McConaughey, listed as one of People magazine's 2007 "Hottest Bachelors".
Also grace the annual list is fellow actor Jake Gyllenhaal at 2nd spot and Chris Evans who lands at No. 3. Next on the list is Latin Ballroom dance champion, choreographer, and instructor Maksim Chmerkovskiy, who is famous for appearing on three seasons of the American version of the television series "Dancing with the Stars" at No. 4, just one place ahead of rapper Ludacris who is ranked 5th.
Jordin Sparks Pocketing 6th American Idol's Crown
May 24, 2007 09:05:46
Finally after a shocking departure of Melinda Doolittle, American Idol announced the contestant who is worthy taking the 'supposed' place of Doolitle. The often-lauded 17 years old Jordin Sparks has won over Blake Lewis and rightfully crowned the winner of this 6th season. Through this winning, Jordin therefore, is recorded as the youngest American Idol winner by far.
Three songs-finale, it was by all means an obvious choice since Jordin has displayed a blast of performance last night with Blake only preceding her by beat-boxing in the song "You Give Love a Bad Name". Jordin meanwhile put all her vocal skill in the rendition of "Broken Wing" and has the first two rounds under her belt. For this cycle's theme song "This is My Now", Jordin certainly had a better idea of the song rather than Blake who was slightly all over the place with his rendition.

"Congratulations to you two. My commiserations, Melinda, 'cause you are one heck of a singer," said a glum Cowell, who covered his face with his hands upon hearing the news.

LaKisha Jones Tumbles Down, Three to Go
May 10, 2007 02:05:26
After a couple of weeks delivering a so-so performance, Michigan native LaKisha Jones has to give up hope winning American Idol. Her rendition of Bee Gees' "Stayin' Alive" failed to impress the American audience that she got the lowest vote and substantially out of the competition.
Host Ryan Seacrest revealed that even before the announcement, Jones had been "fidgety" during the commercial breaks and heard talking to herself. Jones explained it as a 'feeling of going home' after the judges battered her the night before. Judge Simon Cowell as usual said what he wanted to say, referring her performance as "absolutely terrible". Even Paula Abdul who supposed to be the 'kind one' couldn't help to blurt out that Jones had a lack of power.
