Father Totally Floored by Aaron Carter's Marijuana Arrest
February 23, 2008 09:02:55Robert Gene Carter, the father of pop singer Aaron Carter, has spoken out about his son's arrest in Texas for investigation of marijuana possession. Shared his feeling to People, the older Carter revealed "I'm just totally floored by this. Other people suspected he had a problem, but I denied it and didn't believe it. But now I feel hurt and betrayed, because I see that everything wasn't what I thought it was."
Went on telling People that he believed his son was heading to Georgia to confront him about finances at the time of his arrest, Robert explained "His new managers are trying to convince him that I'm the reason he's going broke. It's not true; I don't live off Aaron's money." Though so, still Robert hoped the best for Aaron, hoping that the arrest will serve as a wake-up call to his young son. "Aaron has always thought he was invincible," Robert was quoted as saying. "Sometimes it takes a knock in the head to get people back on track. I hope that's what happens here."

The pop singer was pulled over for speeding on I-10, and when authorities searched his car, they found over two ounces of marijuana. There was nobody else in the car.
Aaron, 20, the younger brother of Nick Carter from the Backstreet Boys, is currently in jail in Junction, Texas, awaiting a Friday morning, February 22, appearance before a magistrate, it has been reported. No words from Aaron's people just yet.

Carter who turned 19 on Dec. 7, is dating 18-year-old singer Kaci Brown. The couple was spotted at Shag in Hollywood to celebrate his birthday. "Now I'm in a great relationship. I've only known her for, like, seven days, but I have a connection with her that's like nothing else I've ever experienced," Aaron told People. "It's really amazing."

While there are no further details on the incident, the pop star is said "recovering nicely at home" in Los Angeles. "Although hospitalized, he has been released and is recovering nicely at home," said the statement from Carter's camp.

Teen singer Aaron Carter is sued by a Florida record company over a recording contract he tried to break on the grounds of his age.
The lawsuit, filed Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court, alleged that Carter signed a contract with Trans Continental Records on Dec. 7, 2004, the singer's 17th birthday. However, a year later when the star turned 18 Carter's attorney sent a letter to the company stating that his client had every right to "cancel or void various agreements" that were signed when he was a minor.

Aaron Carter's 2004 Cadillac Escalade hit a mattress early Thursday on Florida's Turnpike when he drove north to Orlando at about 12:30 a.m with one of his friends.
Luckily, none of them get injured in that accident that was when a mattress came loose from the cargo bed of a delivery truck in front of his car which then got stuck under Aaron's sport vehicle and caused fire.
