AceShowbiz - Scarlett Johansson is not just known for her stellar performances on-screen but also for being one of the rare Hollywood A-listers who has no social media presence. This decision remains firm despite the continuous pressure from studios and the general public to join platforms like X and Instagram.
Most recently, during an interview with InStyle magazine for a cover story, Johansson revealed that Universal Pictures requested her to consider joining Instagram to promote her new summer blockbuster, "Jurassic World: Rebirth."
"I mean, even today, I got an email from Universal, and they're like, 'Hey, would you consider joining Instagram in tandem with the release of Jurassic World: Rebirth?' " Johansson shared. "I get a lot of pressure to join social media."
Despite the significant benefits of a social media platform, Johansson has made it clear that she remains uninterested. She elaborated, "I could totally get on the bandwagon. But I'm not. And I think the film will do fine."
Her commitment to staying true to herself is evident, as she stated, “The work that I put out there is all based in truth. That's the key ingredient."
"Rebirth," supported by Mahershala Ali and Jonathan Bailey and directed by Gareth Edwards, has the potential to fill the colossal shoes left by the previous "Jurassic World" films, which have each grossed over $1 billion at the box office.
Adding to her impressive roster of roles, Johansson's involvement in "Jurassic World: Rebirth" could cement another major franchise win similar to her success as the beloved Black Widow in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, fans should not hold their breath for a return to the MCU. Johansson firmly stated, "Natasha is dead. She is dead. She's dead. Okay?"
"They just don't want to believe it," the actress went on. "They're like, 'But she could come back!' Look, I think the balance of the entire universe is held in her hand. We're going to have to let her go. She saved the world. Let her have her hero moment."
"Jurassic World: Rebirth" is set to hit theaters on July 2, promising to be another high-stakes adventure that will enthral audiences around the world. As for Scarlett Johansson, her choice to shun social media, separating her personal and professional life, remains a testament to her authenticity and dedication to her craft.
