After Wendy Williams aced her cognitive test with flying colours, an investigation into her court-ordered guardianship is reportedly launched with allegations of elder abuse.

AceShowbiz - The guardianship of Wendy Williams is under intense scrutiny amid allegations of elder abuse. According to various reports, the former talk show host has been enduring several hardships under the care of her court-appointed guardian, Sabrina Morrissey. Recently, an Adult Protective Services case was opened to investigate these serious claims.

Sources close to Williams have argued that her civil rights and liberties are being denied. A significant incident fueling these allegations involves Morrissey allegedly sending Williams to visit her father in Miami with an empty credit card.

"During her trip to see her father in Miami last month for his birthday, the credit card given to her by Sabrina was declined and someone else had to pay for her purchases, and that's elder abuse," an insider claimed.

This financial mismanagement is reportedly accompanied by accusations of Morrissey squandering Williams' money on legal fees. The insider added, "Meanwhile, the guardian is spending all her money hiring lawyers to defend herself and squandering Wendy's money on legal fees."

Williams' current living conditions also reflect the restrictive nature of her guardianship. Living in a high-end senior facility in Manhattan, Williams has described it as a "luxury prison." She resides in a studio apartment within the facility's memory care unit, requiring a hefty monthly payment that includes additional costs for memory care services.

Despite the luxurious setting, Williams feels confined and isolated. She has voiced her distress multiple times, going so far as to drop a note from her window seeking help.

A wellness check by the NYPD, prompted by this note, led to her transportation to a local NYC hospital for evaluation. Contrary to her guardian's claims about her being mentally incapacitated, a psychiatrist later declared her mental capacity "fully intact," fuelling concerns about her overall well-being.

This ongoing guardianship saga traces back to 2022 when her bank, Wells Fargo, initiated a court-ordered guardianship due to concerns about her well-being. Williams' struggles have been compounded by health issues, including diagnoses of frontotemporal dementia, aphasia, and alcohol-related brain damage.

In a bid to regain control of her life, Williams has filed a petition to end the guardianship. However, a recent legal document from Morrissey's attorney suggested that Williams' chances of revoking the guardianship remain slim. The legal battles continue, and only time will tell if Williams can reclaim her autonomy from this restrictive oversight.
